It was going well until I got stuck. For a collector's edition, the strategy guide does not give explicit instructions for completing mini-games. I'm having trouble completing Level 2 at location G and the only hint is "restore board pieces." Because it's not possible to skip, I can't move forward with the game.

I really enjoy playing the 3 game varieties. It keeps things interesting. I've gone through all levels multiple times but it never gets boring. Don't pay attention to the story anymore, though I thought it was good the first couple times.
I really enjoyed the first two Roads to Rome and looked forward to the third. The addition of "barbarian invaders," however, ruined the entire game for me. Just not my thing.

This is a one-up, one-down card game, like many others available. It does provide a story line and nice enough graphics (I always turn off the sound on my games). My major complaint while playing the trial game was the exit button was not clear, I clicked on every button on the screen but either got to "Help" (which only gives playing tips) or back to the game. Very frustrating. Also, the game is repetitive, no variations. Too bad. I really wanted to like it enough to buy it.
