The storyline is interesting, voiceovers and artwork are well done, and the HOPs are pretty good, except for one. The minigames, however, were too difficult. And the further I got into the story the more I had to use the hint. I hate that.
Difficult to recommend if it's too difficult to figure out.
I don't recommend this game.

I usually like the Hidden Expedition games. The graphics and sound are very good; the storyline is usually interesting; the puzzles challenging. Here, however, they got so challenging that I had to skip several toward the end. I just simply could not figure out what to do, let alone how to do it.
The light up buttons with the multi-coloured discs (that took a long time to collect) didn't light up - under any circumstances. So I simply did not know what to do next - except to skip it, which I hate doing.
The same for the last puzzle, where I had to reconstruct the crown. I'm not sure the developers realized how difficult it would be, but I had no way of logically figuring out how to set up the solution. So I skipped it, the most important puzzle in the game, and one I suspect the programmer was proud of creating - but it was impossible, the solution may have taken days, and be completely random, not logical.
That was the problem with some of the other puzzles - random solutions, not logical ones, which I suspect these puzzles are going for.
Perhaps the programmers are just getting too excited about doing puzzles rather than interesting HOP scenes, but some of the puzzles are just so beyond me that it takes half my time with them just figuring out what to do. The "help" messages with the puzzles are no use at all, frequently just words that have no relationship to it, and just a way for the programmer to fill in something, anything, in order to be no use at all - just laughing at us perhaps.
I don't recommend this game.

This was the first of the BF games that I've finished, but it was on my iPad (I couldn't figure out how to do a review of the iPad version). The only other games I've completed were the Samantha Swift games, but I had them before I found BFG.
The graphics in this game were excellent, the storyline was reasonably interesting and the puzzles were challenging. There were interesting twists on the HOPs, but my real problem was with some of the minigames.
I had trouble with the sound on this one. I don't know whether the iPad was muted or whether there was much sound on this game or maybe it wasn't working. I suspect there was something simple I could have fixed, but I didn't bother. Sometimes sound distracts from completing some of the puzzles. In this case one of them required sound - a musical tune had to be repeated in order to open a box. I couldn't figure out how to do that so I had to skip it. Other puzzles were skipped (I usually don't do that) because the instructions gave me no clue how to solve them. Most of them were quite difficult, so I wondered if the age group for this game was a bit low.
I don't mind a challenge and some of the games I was able to complete after thinking about them for some time. Clearer instructions would have made the others less frustrating.
The story has the main character restoring a fairy tale book by returning a council of princesses and their book to fairyland. However, there were only three returned out of five (four if you count the main character), so I didn't quite understand why there were 5 and only 3 main puzzles.
It also wasn't explained how the thief actually acquired the book. The surprise was who took it, so some more explanation was required there.
All in all, an enjoyable game, if a little short and sometimes more frustrating than it should have been.
I recommend this game!

I actually liked this game, unlike most of those here. I thought the Native American theme was well done, certainly unique to these games. The storyline was weak in making the connection to this theme, so it was a surprise to me when it emerged. Other than that, the games were good, some quite different from the usual HO minigames, so I liked that.
If they tighten up the storyline so it makes sense, this could be a very good game. I give it 3 stars and a recommendation because of its uniqueness.
I recommend this game!
