After playing some more complicated and creepy HO games, this was a nice shift from that. The story is more of a fairy tale then a mystery, with curses and a princess.
I find this to be a good game to play in short bursts. You can step away for a day and not have to worry about forgetting where everything was.
The transitions between locations was too long, but you can click on an item with footprints and immediately jump back to that location. This made the game simpler, but it also saved time clicking back and forth.
I played the standard edition of the game and I was happy with it.
I recommend this game!

After just finishing another, earlier Dark Dimensions game, I am happy to say that the games just keep getting better. They keep the same tone of dark creepiness, this time with a shadow that is scary strong and destructive. There is a definite tie to the earlier games in the series.
I love the interactive quality of the puzzles. Its really what I look for in a HO game.
The version I played was the Collector's edition, but I would have been just as happy to have gotten the standard. I felt the bonus game wasn't anything noteworthy and the extra extra puzzles were pointless.
Definitely looking forward to the next Dark Dimensions game.
I recommend this game!

I have now played many Hidden Object Game Adventures and I give this one a solid 4 stars. This review comes from playing the standard edition.
The overall tone of this game is creepy, but you must be expecting that from the title of the game alone. Not only are the images often macabre, but the background music is filled with spooky whispers. This all combines for an intriguing game.
The hidden object scenes and puzzles aren't too hard, but I will admit that I had to use the hint button a few times. They are very interactive with actions that require multiple clicks to get the job done (i.e. unscrewing screws, breaking glass).
To be honest, I've played better games. I'd recommend those first. But this one is still fun and I'll keep my eye on this series and these game devs.
I don't recommend this game.
