The graphics are gorgeous, the storyline seems interesting. The story is meant for adults but my 4 year old could have played this game. Why???? The entire hour I spent on the demo was just me clicking where they wanted me to click. No challenge. Not even kids would find this challenging.
This is more like a dumb, interactive movie rather than a game.
I don't recommend this game.

My review is based on the completed game:
- decent journal, could have used some more detail, but it does have notes about the game as you go.
- HO are pretty boring, luckily there is a mahjong alternative, which I always played instead of the HO.
- inventory doesn't lock.
- a lot of walking around, lots of backtracking. the map does not transport. I personally don't mind it - it makes it seem more "real" when you walk around and you're not limited to 2 locations at a time. But I know some players won't like it.
This game has turned my brain to mush and now I'm a zombie

My review is based on the completed CE:
- No journal- how hard would it be to add that in? A little background information, A place to save notes and some info about the game so far... I always prefer games with journals.
- If you choose to turn off helpful text, it will turn off ALL text.
- Nothing special at all in this game to show that the developers actually put some thought into it.
- mini-games were good and challenging - the only thing I enjoyed about this game.
- My 8 year old enjoyed it and wants the rest of the games in this series, I'm hoping I can distract her with better games.
- HO were easy - I like it that way. I don't enjoy straining my eyes looking for stuff.
- I felt like the entire game was just walking around, picking stuff up, putting them where they have to go so you could pick up more stuff. repeat. over and over. The game had no "life" to it. nothing to hold my interest. just picking up the emblems to put it where it belongs.
- I'm cursing my OCD that forced me to finish this game even though I should have stopped after 5 minutes.
- very basic journal. I would have liked more details.
- puzzles varied in difficulty, some were very original. I enjoyed one where you had to switch panels to complete a picture, but to make it more interesting, the picture was moving while you worked on the puzzle.
- It was a good game, and I enjoyed playing it, but the story seemed to drag on and on. I was ready for it to be over way before it was over.
- This is the first Awakening game that I played. I don't think I'll replay this one, but I will buy more Awakening games in the future.
- Great story! I was drawn into the story. I had to take a 3 day break while playing this game and I found myself thinking about the game during this time - it was that interesting! There are several twists in the story too!
- No journal. I took off a star for this. I like having a journal when playing.
- mini-games are way too easy but not boring.
- Bonus CE story is separate from the main game. (I hate when developers chop off the ending from the main game and call it a bonus story) The bonus story here is very interesting and fun to play, worth the extra money.
- CE collectibles weren't in your face, you actually had to look for them.
- No journal! I need a journal in my games! No way to go back and see any letters/notes you viewed.
- Story is fascinating enough that I want to continue.
- Some HO that I did were typical, there was one original one where they give you little scraps of fabric that you have to locate on a painting
- I absolutely loved the mini-games! This is something I rarely say lately since most mini-games these days are geared towards 4 year olds. The mini games were varied in difficulty - some super easy to be boring, some actually required some thought, and were original - not the same old, same old that you see in every other game.
- Not a lot of backtracking, which is a plus for many (although I enjoy "walking" around in a game)
- You have the option to take away helpful text, but choosing that option takes away ALL text. So frustrating! I don't like the helpful text that tells you what you need to do "You need something small and flat here" but I still want to see the character's thoughts and contextual text. Things like "that car looks creepy, I hope it isn't dangerous" gets taken away too.
This would have been 5 stars had they included a journal.
- Minimal Journal - holds some notes and very little info.
- You never have to backtrack more than one room. I prefer to walk around in a game, and I don't mind a lot of backtracking, but I know that this is a plus for some people.
- Easy, 1st grade level mini-games. I wait in vain for them to realize that most players are adults.
- The storyline was good, but forgettable. I played it all in one sitting, and I don't usually do that - because I wanted to see how it ends. But now that I'm writing the review - only 2 days later, It took a few minutes to remember the story because it's similar enough to so many other games that it all blends together in my mind.
- The puzzles are insultingly easy. These puzzles would be perfect for ages 4 - 7. I'm fed up with these stupid puzzles - we need puzzles for adults!
- HO were OK, somewhat interactive, nothing special.
- No journal!! I hate games without journals. I can't really get into the game when there's no extra information given. Or at the very least, notes about the story so far!
- The bonus game was enjoyable. Very often the developers get tired and lazy at the end and I find that the bonus games are usually not done well, but in this game the bonus game was very interesting and well done.
- You can go back for collectibles when you finish the game.
I probably will not play this game again, but it was an OK game to pass the time while it lasted. Not the best game, not the worst either.
fromIt's nice that the characters breathe, but normal people don't inflate that much with each breath they take :)

my review is based on the completed CE game.
- music and graphics are good.
- There is no journal. I personally do not like any game without a diary/ journal. I think the developers are lazy for not adding that in. I like to read everything, and get all the details in order to immerse myself in the story. I love games where diaries add background info, or at the very least keep track of the story, and any clues you find in the game.
- Even though there is no journal, any note you pick up is still saved and you can go back to look at it.
-All HO are fully interactive. I actually found them enjoyable and I don't usually enjoy HO. It wasn't your usual junk pile. They actually put some thought into it. Some HO were really unique.
-Forgettable, lame mini-games meant for young children. I usually like mini-games but these were insultingly easy.
-Great story. I loved it so much - I would play it again just for the story. I just wish it would have been more challenging.
-I love the idea of traveling between the real world and the twilight world (which mirrors the real world, but darker. Abandoned and spooky)
- The witch used various powerful items to put people under a spell. As you free the victims you collect those items and then you can use them throughout the game. Each one does something special - one freezes anything, another lights things on fire etc. I really liked the idea of it, but they ruined it by shoving it in your face when you have to use the artifacts rather than let you figure it out on your own.
-in the beginning of the game, there were certain things in the background that were interactive. Such as clicking on a photo to get it to animate, clicking on picture frames will make it shatter. Small things that are not crucial to the game but shows that the developers put in some extra thought. These days the only things you can click on in a game is to pick up an emblem or a hammer. However, those little extra things only lasted through the demo and then stopped.
- You can't go back for collectibles or achievements. I will never again buy a CE from them. You can't replay the mini games either.
- The story is boring. It might have been OK if it was fleshed out a bit more, but the way it is - it's forgettable, even as I played I wasn't intrigued to continue.
- HO were interactive. I found them boring, but I'm not a HO lover. There was no alternative game to HO.
- No diary. I personally do not like any game without a diary/ journal. I think the developers are lazy for not adding that in. I like to read everything, and get all the details in order to immerse myself in the story. I love games where diaries add background info, or at the very least keep track of the story, and any notes or clues you find in the game.
-minimum story info. The game is all about "pick up this, put it there, so you can get the next thing you need... repeat and repeat. Very little of the game play has to do with the actual story. Any note you pick up disappears as soon as you click on it and if you didn't read it - too bad, there is no journal or anything to save it in.
- The mini games are for 3 year olds. my 8 year old was looking over my shoulder as I was playing and rolled her eyes at how easy the mini games were. Then laughed out loud when there was one where you had to match colors. Another mini game was to match leaves - there were only 4 matches, all glaringly different. Why would a developer make a story meant for adults with games meant for toddlers? Other games which could have been interesting (jumping over pegs to remove them) were dumbed down to a second grade level.
you can try the demo for yourself, you might like it. I did not enjoy it.
