The Beast of Lycan Isle was a surprise find by me, I was just scrolling around and I am so happy I got this game! I played a little bit of the demo and got hooked right away and on top of that there really are not a lot of game dealing with wolves or werewolves which to be honest isn't exactly what this game has but I count it!
This was an Adventure Game and I think those who like Hidden Object Games would like this as well but the times you find objects there are not as many in the scene you are doing and most of the time are just in the locations you are at solving puzzles not in a different scene just designed for finding hidden objects.
I think it is impressive to find a full 3D game on Big Fish, most of the games don't have full 3D and yes the wolf man doesn't look great but personally I like the look, it is a little bit old school adventure game.
I like the story line and is more fleshed out than a lot of games on Big Fish, but the only thing I didn't like was in the Bonus Chapter, or as it is said in the game "Bonus Content", was hard to figure out when it was over because you have a story you follow and do puzzles and such but once you unlock the bonus deleted scenes and such it doesn't send you back to the menu you can just look at it forever and that is the end no credits for the bonus game section and just felt a little weird to me.
I really liked this game and can see myself sharing this game and playing it over and over, personally I think this game is worth the money or if you are not sure wait for it to be on sale or for when you can get a discount.
I wish there was a soundtrack for this game, I liked the music I was hearing and also unfortunately you can not download any of the bonus content it is all in game.
I also think an amulet you get in the game and receive a special ability from is under used in the game but as I said before not a lot of games deal with wolves and I like to add allowing the main character to use abilities or have a slight edge on the villain or misjudged antagonist, I wish games would do things that this game does more often.
This is a guide for Her Interactive's Nancy Drew: The Final Scene, I think it is the same one as the one they sell just in a program instead of a PDF Guide.
Would I recommend that you buy this? Well yes, no and depending.
*Yes if you want a Official Strategy Guide.
*No if you do not care about a Official Strategy Guide and you might be able to find the information on the internet for free.
*And the Depending part is really what your preference is, if you like having everything on big fish then yes go for it, but if you don't or would prefer it in a PDF or document format then this isn't for you.
Personally, I think this would be a good alternative if you wanted it Officially and on big fish but I do not think it is worth all that much as it is a guide that, as I said before, you could find the information for on the internet for free.
So in the end I would say no I would not recommend this, not due to the lack of quality as the guide is quality since I am pretty sure it is very similar to Her Interactive's guide but because it is info you can figure out yourself or find online.
I have played Nancy Drew Games for most of my life and have constantly replayed them, I love most if not all of these games!
In this game Nancy Drew is looking for her friend after she was kidnapped, as the time counts down to the theater being knocked down.
This game is not the newest Nancy Drew game but I say it does look good quality wise but as it was made a while ago the dialogue and sounds can sometimes sound staticky but that doesn't really bother me. The controls can be a bit clunky since it is an older Nancy Drew game but once you get use to it, I think it is easy to control.
This game is filled with Puzzles but no way to skip them but you can call Nancy's friends for hints if you get stuck, Note: Not a HOP game. Sometimes this can be annoying but I find most of the puzzles to be understandable with enough thought.
I love theaters and to see a theater in one of my favorite game franchises is AMAZING! Additionally, there is story dealing with the theater which is really nice to making it not super complex story wise but more complex than most adventures games go. There is a lot of talking with suspects and calling Nancy's friends on the phone, most of the time I call Bess and George.
All of the game takes place inside of the theater which is really cool as it can be hard to focus a game around such a small place while keeping it interesting but I think Her Interactive does a great job!
I do recommend you play this game if you are a fan of Adventure games and puzzles!
Save Nancy's Friend before the theater is demolished!
I have always wanted some really fun and fascinating HOP games, to be honest, I find most of the Mystery Case File games fit that bill for me. Black Crown is really good and to be honest has one of the best Bonus Chapters I have seen in a HOP series before, I won't say specifically why but image a little kid all happy on Christmas is what I felt like when I first started playing the Bonus Chapter.
The Main game is really good as well and I am always impressed with the quality in these games. I struggled at some points in the game with the puzzles but I also feel I really wanted to get to the end of the game and see what happens, I tend to be that way, so I don't think that is the games fault.
I liked the characters in the game and I felt like they were apart of the story, I know that seems weird to say but some games I have played have used characters as simple from point A to point B type of characters not including them in the overall story or forgetting about them after a while, I do not personally believe this game does that.
As far as the gameplay goes, it is a HOP game, lots of puzzles and HOP challenges which fits the bill of what I wanted going into the game. I only disliked one puzzle from what I can remember and that was a puzzle in which we had to find the Black Crown. Since it is on the Main Menu Screen and even here in the images on the Website it felt kind of pointless to have a puzzle matching crowns when clearly the one crown that we have seen through out promotional material and Menu Screens is the Black Crown.
Besides that I really liked this game and unfortunately, because of spoilers, I can not speak about everything I liked/loved about this game. I highly recommend you give this game a shot, I also recommend that you check out other games in this series!
