I am not a fan of HOS, especially too many or too much the same looking for a list of objects with very little thinking. I won't play a straight HOG. I prefer more adventure with puzzles and this game did not have too many HOS and they were all fun. I had to think through this whole game but never got frustrated. The puzzles were varied and fun, the tasks were varied and fun and the collectible owls were fun. I have hundreds of games and not too many in my "play again" folder, but this one is.
I recommend this game!

What I liked most about this game was that there were not too many HOS. What I did not like was that the instructions for a couple of the puzzles made no sense. Neither my husband nor I could figure them out and we are fairly smart with puzzles. I had to resort to the guide which I hate doing. I prefer never to use hints or guides because it detracts from my overall satisfaction with finishing a game.
I recommend this game!

I enjoyed this game primarily because the HOS were mostly different and not too many of them. I would have given this game five stars except for me neither the map nor the hint worked properly. The hint mostly took me around in circles unless I happened upon a scene where it could give me a specific hint. The map legend did not work properly meaning the symbol for a to do item never showed, I think the symbol for locked showed in place of the to do, but I was never sure. I had to stumble around a lot and spent way more time on this game than necessary because of the bugs in the hint and the map. I have played hundreds of games without problems, so it is not operator error! I am going to click on yes to recommend this game because I did enjoy it, but you have to be willing to put up with the frustration.
I recommend this game!

First, let me say I never listen to audio, so the 5-star rating is for the visuals, not the audio. Also, I played the CE and the extra gameplay was worth the money, which isn't always the case.
For me, generally, I prefer adventure and the fewer HOS, the better. That said, I did not mind the HOS in this game. There were not too many of them and they were fun. The rest of the game was fun, fun, fun! I did not miss having a map, barely used the journal and never cracked the included strategy guide. This game has morphing scenes, which I have come to adore. There were many places to go, but even with my less than perfect memory, I never got confused. It was interesting and challenging, but not frustrating. I don't see how anyone would not love, or at least really like, this game.
I recommend this game!

I rarely find a game without HOS and when I do, I grab it and play it. If you get tired of HOS, try this game. It was fun and long enough. I just wish there was a CE edition or sequels I could play now. I never listen to the audio, so I don't know how that is, but the visuals were good and the game was not too hard and not too easy.
I recommend this game!

I wish I could find more games with no HOS, or only limited and interesting HOS. This game was fun, challenging and long enough. The extra CE play was worth it, as with some games it is not.

This game doesn't need another glowing review, but in case the other 180+ reviews don't persuade you to buy it, at least try it. Even if you aren't into Christmas or "The Nutcracker" this game is fun. There were some HO but not so many it bothered me because I'm not a big fan of HOS. There was a lot of variety and places to go and interesting characters. It wasn't too short or too long. IMHO a good game can never be too long. It has a map that allows you to jump to places and shows you where you can do something. I would say this game was not too easy nor too hard. All in all a great game to get you in the Christmas spirit if you listen to the music. I think I will play this one every December.

When looking for games, I always sift through the reviews hoping someone will say how much HO the game has because I try to avoid HOS. I was pleasantly surprised to find there were no HOS in this game. It was not a pretty game with regards to scenery, but it was interesting and had lots to find and do.
I recommend this game!

This game was a real memory challenge because I didn't write anything down. You have three characters to use and you have to swap the inventory around. A shortcut to get the characters together to swap items or characters kept the frustration level down. I think you can jump to places from the map, but I only did that once because traveling was quick. Each place had a name which made it easier to remember. I enjoyed the scenery. Many places to visit and not much HO which is always a plus for me. Some easy puzzles and some more difficult with lots of variety. This game was not too short or too long and I thoroughly enjoyed it. A real pleasure.
I recommend this game!

This game doesn't need another good review, but I enjoyed it so much, I had to say so. Quirky but fun. Not too hard, not too easy and I love the weirdness (very Alice in Wonderland strange.) I hate games with too much HOs, but these were kind of fun because of the scenes and they were a little bit different. The puzzles were interesting. Overall just a fun game for a rainy afternoon.
I recommend this game!
