I decided to try this type of TM game and found out I was missing a lot once I did. It turns out there isn't much difference between the types of games out there. Then again, I used to never play TM games at all.
Country Tales is a fun and fast paced game of attaining goals to get to the next level. There are 40 levels plus 20 extra levels in the CE. The CE levels seem to be much easier as many only require very minimal goals. I do like a challenge at times so it did get a little tedious. As one reviewer noted there is a lot of clicking to be done.
Another problem is a minor one yet it still made me want to only give this game three stars. The treasure chest is nowhere to be found on Level 35. Usually the treasure chest moves around every time you replay the level. I did a bit of research and learned the chest is behind the blue house. Not sure if the person was joking or not. Maybe they corrected this one and I need to find the update. Then again, it is minor.
Overall, the game is enjoyable and a bit challenging at times.
I recommend this game!

The collector's edition contains 37 levels and 10 bonus levels. That isn't very much in my book, however the game is fun for me. The graphics are decent enough and the gameplay is somewhat challenging for the most part.
I was a bit disappointed to find out there are only 37 levels in the main game. The levels are divided so that you start with 1.1 and so forth. Many levels have only three or four chapters in them.
Then there is level 13.4. I can't complete it as it is quite difficult. However, it can be done as I just watched a video on YouTube showing how to do it. You have to follow what the player does exactly or you will not be able to complete the chapter. I will have to write everything the player does in order to complete the chapter myself. Not very fun if you ask me.
I would give this game four stars but it loses a star just because of the difficulty of the final chapter. Again, the final chapter is doable but it must be done in a certain order.
I recommend this game!

The game looks and feels like the other TM games in the Alice in Wonderland series. The tasks are the same for the most part. Instead of magical orbs, the Rabbit needs carrots. We still need candy, wood and gold as well.
Most of the scenes have only one or two building sites which means tearing down one to replace it. However, I have noticed we get enough 'free' items we only need to construct one or two buildings.
I usually build two lumber buildings and leave them alone after upgrading them. What is the fun in that? I also play this game on relaxed mode and may need to play in a timed mode as it is quite slow and boring.
You also earn puzzle pieces once you find the flowers and sometimes a bow to go with them. That can be three to five items which are easy enough to find. You can go back to the levels you missed without having to replay them.
Overall it's not a bad game but it could have been so much better. I will have to play the older games in this series to remind myself why I liked it so much.
I recommend this game!

There was a sense of something missing in this latest Alice Wonderland TM game. It never seemed to get going like other games. It felt like a movie with several false starts. After a while, you give up. I didn't give up on this game but stopped several times to do other things as my interest just wasn't there.
Maybe it's because the levels felt the same for the most part. Playing near the finish line still felt like I was just starting.
There are 50 levels with time pieces to collect. The map shows all of those levels but not the bonus ones. It is there but you have to press the play arrow to start. I'm not sure why the creators didn't show the extra bonus levels on the map.
Bottom line: I just didn't have any fun playing this game. I play these games to relax but also like a little challenge. This game felt like the creators ran out of steam and hoped the players won't notice. I did, and unfortunately I can't recommend this game.
I don't recommend this game.

I really need to start trying these games out before buying them. Luckily, I got this one on sale so I don't feel so bad. Still, I paid way too much for this game as it plays like so many others lately.
First the good: The game does look good for the most part.
Now the bad: We have to make the same type of tools over and over again to do the same task. Once we use the tool it is gone from our inventory. How many knives, forks, hammers, etc do we need? How many leaves need raking? How many tiny objects need to be pulled by the tweezers? So why not keep the knife, tweezers etc?
Another bad thing is I have played this same game many times over. I get the same old tasks again and again. See above paragraph is this also goes with the tool usage.
Now the ugly: What is it with the red X during the HOP scenes? This is now a real game killer for me. I will not purchase any other game which has this feature. I had to stop playing because of it. (I know, I can switch to Match 3 except for I like HOP scenes in these games.)
Overall, I see a real decline in quality in the games at Big Fish as of late. They want us to keep on being members but it seems they don't want new developers to try and reinvent the HOP adventure games. As for the red X? Whomever thought of it was thinking of a way to tick off us game players.
I hate writing negative reviews but I don't see what else I can do. Maybe someone at Big Fish will notice the decline in membership and overall game ratings.
I don't recommend this game.

What is going on with these games lately? I rarely ever review a game as most reviewers tend to cover what I wish to state. This time I wish to state something about this game.
The visuals are quite well done and so is the sound. However, the gameplay itself is very tedious. The player is sent to the same basic locations over and over again although as different characters. Even the bonus chapter uses those same rooms. Over all, about a dozen rooms were created for this game. This seems to be a bit lazy on the part of the creators of the game.
The second part is the game itself is rather short. Much of what happens is chatter between the characters and little gameplay. If one is into the plot that is fine, but we do like to play these games at one point.
Maybe I got spoiled by the wonderful earlier games like Cadenza and Moonsouls. We had many rooms to visit and many tasks to do. Those games last for a long time but don't feel like it until you check the clock.
How about the creators revisit some of the older games and read those reviews? Maybe get back to basics of what makes a fun game.
Also, there is a lazy attitude about collectables lately. 20 puzzle pieces to collect plus 13 hats. The 20 pieces are for four pictures to put together. Not very challenging...
Overall there needs to be a bit more put into these games. If that means raising the prices then so be it. Everything else is going up so why not make great games and charge a little extra for them instead if skimping?
Overall, I didn't like this game as much as I should have. I didn't hate it but I can't give it three stars which says something. I also can't recommend this game either although I won't press the button for it as people should check it out first. Maybe others will like it for what it is. For me, I expect better of Big Fish and the developers of these games.
