got the game for free with "the cove" bonus. Reached level 37, completed the whole level, went to build the 3 campfires, the game got stuck, i can't move forward. I disinstalled the game, reistalled, turned off and back on the computer, replayed all 36 levels on another profile, nothing. Graphics are lame, story is terrible, the whole game is total garbage but at least you could play it. From level 37, you can just watch your computer screen. I wonder why even release something that was never completed by the developers? Also the demo for Mrs Holmes ended 10 days ago, but still no new games for beta-testing? What is this, a circus? Why everytime i step into this website i regret doing it, why is this embarassing staff still around and why devs are such failures? Is this really the best you can produce? Want to reconsider your life choices and change carreer with something more suitable? Cause clearly developing video games that can actually be played is not among your skills.
They took away all the heavy content that justified the disclaimer at the beginning of the game. It is not anymore a game 16+, but playable by kids. I'm not enthusiast about the change, as an adult I struggle more and more in finding a game that I can play and get entertained properly. Pretty much disappointing. I've been playing MMORPG, hidden object, puzzle, cards games for ages but lately I feel cut out. The content that gets released recently is underwhelming in every aspect. Developers should keep in mind that their audience goes from 1yo to 60+ and beyond and develop content that is versatile, not restricted to an age range.
This is NOT a CE, not a remaster of something, not even worth the time wasted downloading it. I struggled painfully through 15 minutes of the demo and I am astounded by the lack of professionality, effort, passion, dedication and interest that developers put in this "game" (and i feel extremely courageous, calling this a game). You really think that anyone would spend real money on something so poorly realized? Developers, you are not clowns: you're the whole circus. I'm embarassed for you.
1) Clues are highlighted by some exclamation points, which can be confused with the same icon used by buildings/roads on fire and bandits, so it was not a smart idea to use the same system for both. It was really a drag having to scan the whole level to spot the clue without missing it (it's timed) and without confusing it with parts of the map. Totally disliked it. 2) You won't be able to complete the achis unless you replay levels (the vegetable one is the most annoying, long and slow). If I buy a game, i expect to be able to complete it, I don't like to be forced to repeat something in loop just for completion and since these games are not cheap, I pretend to finish the game without flaws. I can eventually replay for my own entertain, but this forced mechanic is really frustrating, unfulfilling. 3) I am having troubles to understand the age target, here. The storyline could have been interesting but the outcome was clear around level 15 (there are 45 levels total) and it was really really boring reading dialogues and the story. I play either alone or with my niece (8yo) and she got bored after 3 levels. So i am not sure what kind of player could find this thrilling and capturing, developed like it is at this current moment.
IN CONCLUSION I WOULD NOT BUY THIS AGAIN AND I WON'T BUY OTHER GAMES OF THE GOLDEN RAILS SAGA UNLESS THEY IMPLEMENT THEM AND MAKE THEM DECENT, THE PRICE IS NOT RIGHT FOR THE QUALITY OFFERED. WAY TOO EXPENSIVE FOR A REALLY SCARCE PRODUCT.
