I'm sure I'll be repeating so won't. An awesome game, top 5 of the year for me. Long, interesting and great storyline, which you'd expect in a game about filmmaking.
While I didn't find it awful, I agree the mechanics are clunky; I never did figure out how to use the zoom feature and everything seemed to lag a bit. The artwork is a real mishmash, starting off beautifully (as someone else wrote# and then looking like pixelated cutouts #if that makes sense#. I did like how the HO were hidden in most scenes #tricky) but there were a few junk piles too. The puzzles were just "meh" and I did miss an adventure gameplay.
Along with Cursed Heart, this will be a favourite game, I love the underwater theme. This game was fairly perfect, I thought, especially the whale bones piece afterwards. Doing this, you have another chance to find all the morphing creatures, some of which were a real challenge to spot. The storyline and the telling was really, really good; the dialogue was very well acted (except for the brother as someone mentioned, but we only hear from once:)
I usually don't play for longer than an hour at a time but was glued for 3+ today. The whole game plus bonus chapter taking me about 6 hours. A superlative game.
A great game, wonderfully complex and intricate. Tons of little sideline multiple objects to find along with different kinds of HOS. And some diabolical puzzles, at least for me. It's not that I didn't try for a good while but had to admit defeat a few times. The gameplay interaction is intuitive but where and how objects are used takes some trial and error.
There's no map but the hint feature is very helpful but lots of backtracking. Some won't enjoy this, I don't mind so much, feels more like "real" exploring to me. And a good long game, this will easily spread over a few days for me.
