I purchased this game after trying it for 30 minutes because it seemed just like Virtual Villagers, which I loved. What a mistake. The game tells you what to do and when to do it. If you perform a task (like upgrading your warehouse) before being asked to, you cannot progress in the game and have to start over. I prefer to think for myself. What's the challenge in "Simon Says?"
I don't recommend this game.

I didn't expect to like this based on the overall review rating, but once the trial period was over, I found I had to continue. Let me preface this with two things. This is an Angry Birds type game. I disliked Angry Birds. Go figure. The game play is a bit different and the graphics are gritty and dark. They reminded me of World of Goo.
I would challenge you to try this out. You might just find it's a little gem.
I recommend this game!

I have no adequate words to describe how thoroughly I enjoyed this game. I have it on every computer I own and have played it more times than I can count. It is, at times, a strategy game, at times a time management game and yet at other times, a puzzler. The game follows one of two characters as he/she tries to rebuild the railroad that his/her father built #in the prequels#. It is an exercise in managing your resources and protecting your town, all with a sensible plot.
The only con is that there will be no more sequels, as Sandlot Games is now Digital Chocolate, a company focused on <groan> social media games.
I recommend this game!

This is one of those games that is a gem in a sea of ordinary games. I downloaded it expecting to trial it for a few minutes, then uninstall it. Here it is weeks later and I can't get enough.
The visuals are beautiful and the music captivating. No where have I ever seen a game that is soothing and stressful at the same time.
