Well here it is. Chapter 11 of the Christmas saga in Springfield and to be honest, it's pretty much the same as the other 10! That's its charm and you'll either be a fan, eagerly awaiting the next one in the series, or bored to tears. Never more than this Christmas, this game means so much to me. I've always loved its eternally young characters and its familiar music that reminds me that Christmas is nearly here. Only this Christmas, in a world pandemic, for many of us Christmas isn't going to be Christmas. I'll be spending it alone, but just hearing that old familiar music and looking forward to another few happy hours, playing and replaying the game, makes Christmas Wonderland11 worth its weight in gold and more.
Reminded me of games from 20+ years ago. Very poor controls and I was beginning to think that my only exit was to crash out by turning off my computer. After 10 minutes of near panic I found a way to exit and deleted the trial game. Not for me.
Like all the other aficionados of these games, I absolutely don't know why I love Cruise Director so much, when it's really a rehash of all the others, but for weeks I'd been checking in on BigFishGames, eagerly looking for its release. As always I love nearly everything about it. Can't stand the 'find the differences' mini games and end up skipping those. The other thing I'm really uncomfortable with is the trash collecting. It infuriates me that the characters are so MESSY, and I do wish that could be changed to something less anti-social. But otherwise, 100% love Cruise Director, along with Park Ranger and hope the genre will continue for a long time to come. Cruise Director 20 anyone?
What a great game this has turned out to be. It's deceptively challenging, has great background music and, beware, it's highly addictive. A great value, great fun, all around lovely game. I highly recommend it.
I'd read a lot of reviews before committing to buying this game. I saw some negatives, but I really wanted to like it. Unfortunately though, this review has been destined to be one of the more negative ones. I just couldn't engage with the storyline at all and puzzles seemed pointless and endless. I knew that was the case when I just started to use the 'hint' option every time I was a bit perplexed with figuring anything out. So it became a bit of a waste of my time, and a bore playing at all, to be honest. I think maybe I'm jaded anyway with this kind of game. Not many have appealed to me for a long time, but I was always previously loyal to all of the Mystery Case File games, even some of the whackier ones. But I think this may be the end of a beautiful friendship.

I've read some negative reviews about the mini-puzzles in this game, but for me they are one of the things that draws me back, time after time, whether it's Cruise Director or Park Ranger. The only puzzle I consistently skip is lining up concentric circles. Never did get that one, but it's not a feature in this game anyway. So, did it live up to expectations? Absolutely did. It's sort of like a predictable old bad habit, but the minute the new game gets released, I'm in there. And I'll replay it, as with all the others, several times. Some of the scenes were a little more challenging this time, but that's OK. I have a sort of guilty pleasure with picking up the trash. I always feel it shouldn't really be there and that it could encourage littering in real life, but I still love whanging those items into the recycling! As usual, just like a real cruise, it was all over so quickly, and now here I am waiting for the next episode to be released. Bring it on!

What IS it about these games that keeps their fans so entertained. ON the face of it, it's the same old formula, endlessly rehashed, and yet there I was again, looking and waiting for Ranger 8 to be released and then absorbed in it from start to finish and wishing there was more to come. It's a bit like meeting up with an old friend you haven't seen for a while. I don't know what this magic formula is, but for lovers of this genre of games, I do know I love them and eagerly await the next one. One of the really nice things about them all is that you can revisit them from time to time and have as much enjoyment playing them second and third time around, and that's not the case with all games.
Wow! I'm delighted. All the silliness of the later previous Mystery Case File games is gone with this refreshing return to real puzzles, so beloved by me in the original games. Only just trying this out now, but it's a definite purchase for me!
I normally have no problem with a straightforward HOG but this truly is as dull as ditch water. After about the 5th time of finding the same old objects over and over, I found myself just clicking randomly on objects and coming up with 90% of them that way. Then polished off the other 10% with a rapidly replenishing hints button.
I was really delighted to see a long awaited follow-on to Fish Tycoon (1). Pity it doesn't flow as well as that did. Sometimes improved graphics aren't as important as a game that moves along and there's too much waiting around here. And, what's with the difficulty in leaving the game? What a hassle. I can't even make the [esc] button work for me and have to change from full screen on exit and back when I come back.
