Unique game in a series of legendary games. I shouldn't have been but was surprised at the quality. MCF is moving forward and has progressed to another level while at the same time honoring the past. The artwork is extraordinary, it's enjoyable to look at. Everything good: pacing, storyline, excellent HOS, minigames, great music. I love super puzzles. Master Detective wants us to think more, work harder. He is, as always, charismatic, thoughtful, a tough wise guy. This game is, as the usual for MCF games, rich in content, so well done. This is a solid 5 star game. Congratulations to the super-geniuses who went all out to produce this game. You are appreciated. Thank you for this adventure. My only complaint is that the MCF theme music is missing!
I really enjoyed playing this Puppet Show. It's very well done, especially the HO's, mini-games and fabulous artwork. It's a solid 4 star game for new players and old ones alike.
MCF games are always above and beyond other games in their quality. This game has beautiful graphics and has the proper atmosphere and sense of mystery. Excellent HO scenes, lots of fun. Super puzzles have been updated and are unique (but I'm still fond of the older ones). Mini-games are a little easier than I would have liked. Music is fine, but I MISS the MCF theme music, which has been absent for a while. I really liked the "narration" from Master Detective as always. It's interesting and not run of the mill and he draws you in to what he's doing. You can tell that a lot of effort, creativity and hard work went into this game.
MCF games used to be published just once a year. They were more like little movies, totally immersive, very rich, epic. But times change, tastes change. I'll gladly take this one. It's really solid. Please!! Is there any way you can reissue "Dire Grove"?
This is truly an exceptional game. It has wonderful, interesting atmosphere, stunning artwork, excellent HOG's and mostly fun mini-games. It is immersive. You feel as if you're actually in the many wonderful scenes, working with the characters. I love the music. Congratulations on producing a very fine game! In fact, all of the Dark City games are a level above.
This MCF game is very well done, in the tradition of all previous MCF games, save one which will not be mentioned. Artwork, storyline, mini-games (I love the super puzzle kind), hidden object, all top shelf, and it's obvious a great deal of care went into this game's creation.
I love the homage to Madame Fate, who is the subject, of course, of "Madame Fate's Carnival" - one of my 3 or 4 MCF favorites.
Despite the well-deserved 5 stars, I didn't like the music much, and I really miss the MCF theme music, which has been missing for a long time. Should be standard! But I wouldn't knock off a star for this.
While I'm at it and to change the subject, can "Dire Grove" be resurrected for Windows 10?? I think lots of us would love to play it again. I'd buy it right now.
I played this again recently and consider it a solid 5 star game. It is very well crafted. As always the case with MCF games, there are exceptional drawings and scenes, storyline, HOP's, mini-games (I always love the super-puzzles), soundtrack - everything is on another level as games go. You can tell that great care and creativity went into the making of this game. It may be a little dark for some, but that is a taste issue. Thank you for this game. Now, can you remaster - or do whatever's necessary - to bring Dire Grove to us again. Been trying for years, but it's impossible to load. Pleeeeze?
I'm playing this now and must say that this, like its predecessors, is a well-crafted game. MCF games are always a level above in quality. The artwork, the atmosphere, the mystery that you anticipate, the intelligence that is obvious in all the steps that are taken - well, this describes an MCF game. I've played every one since Huntsville and Prime Suspects - the evolution has been breathtaking. Having said this, the glory days may have passed, maybe temporarily I hope? IMO, the 2 greatest MCF games are Escape From Ravenhearst (Ravenhearst is a truly wondrous collection) and Madame Fate's Carnaval. I can't imagine a better game than these. They are so amazing, deep and rich. The masterminds behind these games pulled out all the stops in crafting stories and scenes and artwork that are so enjoyable you don't want to see them come to an end. Just thanks for all of this quality, and keep them coming! This is a good game, for sure.
I'm currently playing this and enjoying every minute of it. The artwork is gorgeous with lots of interesting features and extra little details. The storyline is creative and the voices are good. The HO and mini games are really good. This game is holding my interest - and I'm still only in New York! Thank you for this beauty - it is everything a game should be!
This is a very well-done game, appropriate for beginners/ novices. The graphics are excellent, the storyline is decent, and it definitely should hold enough interest for new players. Mini-games and HOP's are very good.
Bottom line - Very nice game, but not for more advanced players. Not fair to downgrade it for what it is - a very nice game!
I recommend for newbies and those who want a very casual gaming experience.
