From playing the demo, I have added this game into my 'to-buy' list. The graphics are great - very pretty in places, although the cut-scenes don't have quite the same quality. The HOS are clear - items found without too much squinting. The sound track seems pretty average, I normally play without sound effects so I'm probably not the best judge. The story-line is a bit different and I'm interested enough to want to know what's at the story behind the vicious dog-attacks. There's a map which is always a plus and the hint system actually gives clear guidance if you're stuck. The mini-games so far are quite easy and there don't appear to be any extras, as in morphing objects or rewards for achievements within the game #I'm a fan of extras, but I know it doesn't suit everyone#. All in all this appears to be a solid, high quality game which I don't hesitate to recommend from the demo.
I recommend this game!

The gorgeous graphics made this game a real pleasure to play. The HOS were clear and I didn't have to squint to find any of the objects. The minigames were pretty easy and fairly standard but there were morphing objects to find and I enjoy that extra bit of challenge within each scene. The story was interesting enough without being too intrusive on the game-play. The game was a good length and overall I can't find any real fault. It just misses full marks for me as there was nothing really new or innovative to give it that Xtra factor.
I recommend this game!

Against the general consensus and from playing the demo, I wasn't impressed with this game. I found the graphics dull and uninteresting, and nothing really inspired me to get involved with the story. Finding objects was relatively easy although I couldn't help feeling it was very strange to keep digging things up out of the ground.... perhaps some reason for that is apparent later on. Although there were some innovative ideas there was nothing about it that would encourage me to buy the game.
I don't recommend this game.

When I first played the demo of this game, I wasn't sold on it -the characters seemed a bit stiff or stilted & I wasn't sure I wanted to play a pirate game but then I read all the great reviews and decided to purchase it after all...... and am really glad I did. The game story develops richly and is completely woven into the game play. The graphics are stunning and for me the minigames were just challenging enough without being frustrating. The objectives list option is great, as it points you in the right direction, if you're not sure what to do next. The game has good length, with a nice distribution of HOS. I have no fault to find with this game and would recommend it unreservedly.
I recommend this game!

Yes, definitely on my 'to-buy-list' after playing the demo. All the things I love best about Hogs - excellent graphics, nicely interspersed mini-games - easy to move about and logical next steps! There's also a map :-) A hint of myth and mystery in the storyline and there are achievement awards to add a bit more punch to the gameplay.
Great game.

This was a very long game, probably one of the longest HOGs I've played - it didn't quite live up to my expectations...
The good points: There were many different locations to explore; it was very long and good value for money; sound quality was ok; there was a cut-scene playback option and there was a very clear hint system; I liked the achievement awards, which added interest and challenge to the game.
The not-so-good points: Because there were so many different locations it entailed a lot of to-ing and fro-ing over the same territory and there was no map. Clues were often found many scenes later and it was easy to forget what they were for and where they should go. Some of the mini-games were a bit tedious for me and I did skip several - which I find detracts from the overall satisfaction of the playing the game. In places the graphics were rather washed out and it was difficult to see some of the items in the HOS. I'm not quite sure I understood the story-line completely but it didn't seem to have any impact on the game-play until the last 10 minutes or so.
Overall I would recommend the game but it's certainly not one of my top buys.
I recommend this game!

Just from the demo this game rates an A+ from me. All the requirements for a first class HOG. Super graphics, interesting story, evenly spaced HOS and some quality mini games. Will definitely buy the full version.

.... in a good HOG. Definitely my type of game, with good graphics, interesting story-line, lots of different places to explore - HOS well spaced. There are a couple of different slants on the way the challenges are presented, which make a change from the bog-standard. I will definitely purchase this game.

One of the best HOGs I have played, with endless changes of scene, great story, interesting mini-games and lovely graphics all through. This was a long game - excellent value for money (didn't buy the CE) and although some players may need a higher challenge level, I get much more satisfaction from being able to complete the games myself withouth having to resort to the walkthru out of sheer frustration. I would absolutely recommend this game.

I bought this game for 3 reasons. First the great game history of Mystery Case Files, second I enjoy morphing objects as a refreshing change from HO and third I was curious to see what all the fuss was about..... well now I know! Someone with a very strange mind must have thought this one up - I'm not particularly squeamish but the overwhelming gruesomeness of the game not to mention, dull graphics, makes it not only sickly but quite depressing - not a state of mind I'm trying to achieve when I settle down for a couple of hours relaxation with my computer games! Would I recommend it? No! There are many more beautifully rendered games with less demented story-lines to spend your money on.
I don't recommend this game.
