This game is very similar to Inspector Parker and A Series Of Unfortunate Events. I have played those two over and over!! This one is a little different as far as the end goal goes. In the other 2, you had boards to clear in ever increasing difficulty with a time limit. In this version, you need to clear a certain board to gain an ingredient to develop a potion. Different potions take different ingredients, thus you play the board that gives you the ingredient needed. It is not spelled out in the help section, but I guess to win the game, you need to make all the potions. Not sure as I have only played for 20 minutes. There is no timer to beat in this game but you can choose to beat your own time because it is displayed after each board. I'm not sure that I like this style as well compared to the other 2 games I mentioned, but I will definitely be using a credit to get it. I am simply sooooo thankful for a "new" style of game to be offered by Big Fish.
This game is like the old style time management games and I love it! It seems to go on forever, so it is well worth the CE price. Each restaurant has 45 levels with a chance to get 5 stars in each. There are many upgrades to purchase with the coins earned from playing levels. In order to get all 5 stars per level, certain upgrades need to be purchased which are not available at first. Therefore in order to get the 5 stars, a few levels need to be replayed, which makes the game last longer. I have been waiting for a game like this to come along for a long time and am sooooo happy with it.
First off, I have the other Magic Farm games and I still replay them off and on. This one is quite a bit like the last one as far as how the game runs but the plants and surroundings are all different and there are a couple of new things. You plant different plants and gather the flowers. You protect your plants from the pests and keep them watered. You use your gathered flowers to make bouquets to sell. You are able to use your gathered experience points to upgrade different aspects of the game. For example killing pests, watering plants, and gathering flowers. You are able to buy upgrades to your surroundings, as in making the plants demand less water, making the plants grow and bloom faster, and more.
One thing I noticed that is different is with the pests. Most of the pests are normal and you just smack them until they die and leave you experience points. There is a new foe that is exceptionally hard to defeat, the large octopus. However you really don't have to waste your time trying to kill him, simply click on him and just carry him away from your plants. he will keep coming back, but is pretty slow so you can drag him away again.
I have only played the demo, but will definitely be using a game credit on it. It does start off pretty slow because with only one plant, you can't make many coins. at the beginning of the game everyone seems to be asking for coins in order to finish quests. It is hard because you simply can not make coins very fast, but you can tell them to wait while you enlarge your farm to make coins faster. Another new feature is to do with buying water to water plants. In the other games, if you didn't have coins to buy water, you couldn't buy it. Now you are able to go into negative coins to buy water at the beginning of a level so your plants won't die.
Thank you for a new TM game that is not the same old resource gathering formula. It seems that the devs get stuck on one style of game and do it again and again. It would be great if somebody would take a chance with a different style of TM game. Maybe try something like the Chocolatier series, Totem Tribe, Paradise Beach, World of Zellions, or Wandering Willows. They are all so different and I replay them all the time.
This is like the older time management games that I LOVE!!!! It is very challenging and you need to have some strategy in your upgrades or you will find it very difficult to get the expert time. For example... I did not upgrade the amount of shopping baskets and I had a very difficult time getting the expert time until I did. That is very exciting to me because I LOVE the challenge!! Thank you for offering a TM game that is NOT the same old resource gathering style. Please bring more like this!!!
I have not played the first two, so this review is based solely on this game. First of all....the music.....had to turn it off. Not really interested in listening to Christmas music in September or while playing a supposed flower game. Second, this is NOT a clutter game. It has 2 modes, I chose the "hard" mode with a timer. The kicker is you are able to drag all the objects around the playing field, so this game becomes a clickfest. Some levels require you to find a type of item, such as drinks. All you have to do is drag all the items that are not drinks to one side and the drinks to the other side. Simply then click on the pile of drinks until you have them all. In this manner, you are able to get the highest score because the more items on the conveyer belt below, the higher your score multiplier. The game theme is very cutesy....not my thing. I lasted 40 minutes thinking it might get better, but no. Complete waste of time. There is absolutely no challenge and it quickly becomes tedious. For clutter games, I will stick with Joe or the Hiddenverse series.
I am not a huge fan of HO games, which seem to flood this site and the TM games that have been coming out have all been in the same resource gathering style lately. That style was fun at first, but now there are too many and I get bored with them. I have been waiting in vain for a Chocolatier style game, but this one will do in the mean time. The gameplay is pretty straight forward.....you buy ships, fix them up, and sell them to achieve your goals. This game has clear goals listed in the upper left corner, simply click on the icon to expand. However for added difficulty, some new goals pop up mid way through a level. I found that based on the listed goals, your strategy will need to change for each level. Sometimes you need to meet a gathering coins goal, but sometimes it is all about upgrading the ships. I found that sometimes I had to replay a level and revise my strategy to achieve the gold time, but so far they have all been attainable. I played through the entire free trial and immediately used one of my game credits, and I am fairly picky about which games I will use them on. This game however, I had no reservations about buying. I am still waiting for something like Chocolatier, Wandering Willows, Orchard or Totem Tribe, but this is a good, fun, challenging game that is well worth a game credit if you are looking for a different kind of TM other than the same old ones we have been getting.
