I played the demo and was surprised when the hour was up. This game was surprisingly fun and clever. I didn't find it terribly challenging, but the levels were interesting enough to keep me playing.
I recommend this game!

When I saw the so-so reviews on this game, I just had to try it.
Based on the Demo:
The graphics in this game are a mix of painted images and what looks like photographed textures. The animations are awkward and the characters don't look entirely natural, but they are consistently unnatural, so they add to the ambiance.
At first I thought the story would be a standard witch hunt style plot, but the makers added a little twist (an ominous outside force) that kept me curious - and kept me playing.
Though there are an awful lot of hidden object scenes, they won my vote on two points: I couldn't find everything in 30 seconds, and there were mixes of whole objects and fragmented objects. I really love fragmented hidden object scenes.
(Just a note: I was disappointed that I had to find a kettle in the very first hidden object scene. Have you ever played a game where you didn't have to find an iron, a kettle, an umbrella and a butterfly?)
Instead of a general course of finding and using objects, this game divides it neatly into quests. You know what your supposed to be doing, so everything you find will probably be related to a given quest.
If real life hadn't demanded my attention, I would have played the full hour. I think this is a pretty good game.
I recommend this game!

Though I've played a lot of this style of game - build houses, upgrade, collect rent and resources - I decided to try this one anyway. It was cute (especially the elephant) and clever and quite entertaining.
I don't know that there is anything particularly special about it or what the collector's edition offers, but it's worth a run through the demo.
I recommend this game!

This game didn't really grab me. The story was interesting enough to keep me playing for awhile, but I didn't finish the demo.
There are some nice things right off. The music is intermittent and though often dramatic, doesn't last long enough to become annoying. The animations and cut scenes aren't bad either.
The puzzles and hidden object scenes, on the other hand, were very easy and offered little to no challenge.
One very good thing: the well worked right off without requiring repair. This is such a rare event in this genre of game that it really surprised me. Unfortunately, as is typical, people just don't take care of their ladders and repair was necessary.
I also object to the wanton disregard for piano upkeep. How many games do we play where we have to pick up piano keys from random places. I've disassembled pianos, and I assure you, keys don't just fall out. I suspect the children in the game. Those would be the same ones that will put hedge clippers in the freezer or leave hammers in weird places so you can't repair the ladder.
Anyway, if you need an afternoon killer, this game will do fine.
I recommend this game!

I don't usually try puzzle games. I thought today it would be fun to try something different and I'm glad I did.
The graphics are attractive and colorful - though the opening sequence did make me seasick. There is no oppressive music during the gameplay, just incidental sounds and cute noises that the characters make as you move them around.
The tutorial is very good and the first 15 levels were simple and required very little concentration to work through. About 35 screens in, I actually had to pause and try some different things.
There are new characters and pieces added regularly that change the gameplay enough to keep it interesting and sometimes challenging.
For very young children, the game might be a bit hard after the first 20 levels, but 8-10 would not have too much trouble. As an adult, I played a lot longer than I intended because I was having fun!
I recommend this game!

Made in the same style as Pioneer Lands, this game is challenging and fun. I bought it after 30 minutes of play.
Each level requires careful timing and strategy to beat with a perfect score. ( I played on the hard level). It often took several tries for me to figure out the best way to get everything done in the time limit.
Only a couple of downers: the music is nice, but overwhelming. It went off after 5 minutes. That just leaves the annoying little "I'm doing it!" and similar comments that the characters make when you click on them. I hate to play a game in complete silence, but the voices get annoying.
I recommend this game!

I haven't played any of the previous games in this series and didn't know what to expect.
The artwork is impressive and I really enjoyed the opening movie sequence. The music looped pretty quickly and was often overly dramatic for the scene I was in, so I turned it off soon after the game started.
A surprising innovation puts the inventory on the top of the screen instead of the bottom. Finally, I can go backwards without opening the inventory by mistake! It took awhile to get used to it being at the top, but it's a nice convenience.
The mini games were challenging - I played at advanced level - and I was pleasantly surprised at having to work at them a bit.
I really liked the demo and might try some of the previous games as well.
I recommend this game!

This game was not as much fun as I'd hoped. I liked collecting resources from a large map area with lots of interesting things to check out. But I didn't follow the tutorial exactly and quickly found myself very confused. I couldn't figure out how to get back to what I was supposed to be doing and finally, just started over.
That made things go more smoothly, but after about 15 minutes, I felt that the game wasn't really going anywhere. I also found it annoying that people who had just survived a plane crash would be paying rent on the tents they live in.
I suppose a more patient person would want to push a little farther and see what happens. It might get better.
I don't recommend this game.

I know how hard it is to put a workable game together, so I always hate to be hard on the developers. This game reminded me of some early hidden object games, from way back when the genre was just starting.
The music was fine, but looped too soon and I turned it off after a few minutes. The graphics are good, but don't blend well. The dialog was ok - again very much like older games.
The mini-games I encountered were not interesting, and I got annoyed at the number of hidden object scenes. Also, a lack of clarity. I was to find a brush. I clicked on 2 paintbrushes and an artists brush without results. I accidentally clicked on something that looked like a notebook and 'brush' disappeared from my list.
Had the storyline been more compelling, I would have continued in spite of previously noted annoyances. Unfortunately, 15 minutes in I still had no reason to pay any attention to the characters.
I don't recommend this game.

It got my attention right from the sign in page. The flyover movie was so beautiful that I just sat and watched it for a bit. Once in, the game didn't disappoint.
The graphics are really beautiful with colors that are perfect for the fantasy setting. There is a lot of detail and plenty to look at. In addition, the music was soft and unobtrusive.
There were a few mini games in the demo, but I found them a bit on the easy side.
I think what I enjoyed most was just the warm fuzzy feeling from playing in such a pretty environment without being on edge waiting for the next creepy thing to jump out at me.
I recommend this game!
