There is nothing challenging about this game, the mini games are extremely easy and the HOS are nothing new; however, the game could appeal to beginners.
Maybe I had been given the emotionless potion before I started to play the game because I found that I could not engage with the story line or the characters.
Throughout the game there are Rorschach cards to collect and morphing items to find - except the morphs did not morph (at least not in my game!).
I cannot, in all conscience recommend this game but, as always, try before you buy.
I don't recommend this game.

It is a long time since I last reviewed a game but I felt that this one needed a to be commented on as I really do not understand all the five star reviews.
The story is OK, nothing new, but the game itself is way too easy. I played on hardcore and finished the demo in 47 minutes, something tells me that this will be a short game.
Unlike a lot of the other reviewers, I did not find it particularly creepy and did not really engage with the story. I will wait for the SE and a really good deal or a free game coupon.
As always though, try for yourself!
I recommend this game!

This game is not up to Elephant's usual standard. There are several translation errors; I spent ages looking for a pen - it turned out to be a brooch (I presume they meant pin!) In another scene I was looking for a comb - they meant brush. This is not good enough, especially when there are achievements to aim for.
It was nice to be given 90 minutes to trial the game, but after 40 minutes or so I was getting bored and had to take a break. I will wait for the SE - I don't think I could bear to play the full game and then have to wade through a bonus as well.
But as always - try it for yourself.
I recommend this game!

I was really enjoying this game and bought it at the end of the 1 hour demo - it took me less than 10 minutes more to complete it and that was on hard mode.
I feel thoroughly cheated.
I don't recommend this game.

After reading the earlier reviews, I almost didn't try this game; however, I am pleased that I did as it is a good, old-fashioned hidden object game; no more, no less. The blue scenes are a little difficult to see but an adjustment of contrast, rather than brightness, really helps.
There is a reasonable story line and the background music is soothing and unobtrusive.
I played on the harder of the two modes and got as far as the middle of Chapter IV; I would like to find out how many chapters there are before getting the full game.
I am at a loss to understand the comments regarding spelling, I saw no mistakes; in fact if they can correctly spell words such as favour, flavour, through and manoeuvre, they can't be that bad!
I recommend this game!

This review is based on the demo only.
Mystery Trackers: Black Isle is nowhere near as good as the previous Mystery Trackers games, both of which I own. I was not drawn into the story and the mini games (such as there are) are very simple.
On the positive side, as with all Elephant games, the graphics are crisp and clear and the sound is good; however the cursor is sometimes difficult to control.
The HOS have the extra dimension of using items from the inventory which can occasionally be frustrating if you've missed the item on the way!
I will not be buying the CE but will wait for the SE, see how many levels there are, play the demo a second time and then decide. I'll review the game again.
I am recommending the game, as others may not be as picky as I am!
As always, it is worth playing the demo to decide for yourself.
I recommend this game!

The game suggests that you play with the sound on.. I am not sure why this is necessary; although it does not intrude, it also does not enhance the game play.
This is a very pretty game but there doesn't appear to be much of a challenge here, I finished the demo with 18 minutes still left to play.
HOS clear and uncluttered and mini games simple with good instructions.
I am going to wait for the SE before deciding whether to buy or not; it will depend on the length of the game and if playing the demo a second time holds my interest.
I do not think that it is worth buying as a CE and that is my reason for not recommending this game.
I don't recommend this game.

This is a good game for children starting out on hidden object games. It is much to easy for seasoned gamers; finished the demo in 20 minutes and that was on the harder mode.
I don't recommend this game.

This is one of, if not the best game I have played so far. It has everything, stunning graphics, a good story line and well thought out, original and challenging puzzles. I am still playing the game (in hardcore mode) and I don't want it to end! I wish now that I had bought the CE to make it last a bit longer! If there is another CE sale I will get it then.
I recommend this game!

If you are looking for something to put you to sleep, this game is it; I am sorry to say that I found the whole experience totally boring.
There were a few HO scenes and a lot of running backwards and forwards searching for objects which when found, generally just worked (i.e. keys opened doors; rope and bucket went on the well) there was a marked lack of mini-games.
However, we are all different, try the demo and see for yourself; as for me, this is one that I will definitely not be buying.
I don't recommend this game.
