Wasn't going to try based on some reviews, however, glad I did as this is a fun HOG. Objects were good size and just enough of a challenge to find--not too easy, not too difficult.
Classic hidden object game that takes you room to room so you are not wandering around. As rooms are cleared, this opens them up for "free play" mode which I particularly like to replay and beat the game.
Prefer these classics to many of the newer games in which I have wandered too many hours as consulting a walkthrough goes against my gaming conscience. Am a stubborn gamer--no hints, no skips, no walkthroughs gets frustrating at times and so I really enjoy a good old-fashioned HOG. lol
Love you BFG!!

Puzzles child-like with an unbelievable story line. Surprised at rave reviews. When a game has a story, it should be original and have sparkle.
Boyfriend has been kidnapped and taken to a house that appears every 300 years for only 24 hours and then disappears. Ooops! He didn't want to be there in the first place. Maybe a lesson here for us women to let the men in our lives be rather than drag them somewhere they don't want to be. lol
HO scenes a challenge as objects are a good size and blended well within scene. Game map shows a lot of territory to cover so possibly game is lengthy and has more depth.
Purchase for me would be a gamble especially at CE price that I will pass.
Recommend gamer try demo rather than purchase based on reviews.

This is one of those "HOG Gems" I recently discovered while searching through BFG games. Truly enjoyed the hand-drawn artwork, bright and colorful and detailed enough to pick out items without squinting or needing a magnifier. Objects were also appropriate to the game's theme.
Pleasantly surprised with fun, challenging puzzles that I first thought would be too easy. As the old saying goes, "You can't judge a book by it's cover" which I first did while looking at the cartoonish intro picture. HO scenes have a good variety as well wherein gems are collected and combining items.
The storyline involves Greek Gods and a Journal with Greek Mythology facts are unlocked as you progress. Such a bright and "off the beaten track" of other HOG's, that I purchased this game within the first thirty minutes of demo play.

A BFG Fan of the Agency of Anomaly series, you are up front and center in a new paranormal investigative case.
I'm sure you'll appreciate, as I did, the crisp, clear graphics and vibrant colors; all of which go "easy-on-the-eyes" in this newest masterpiece. The opening scene and storyline holds promise for more mystic fun that just keeps getting better and better.
With a birthday around the corner, this is a perfect game to add to my collection.
Thanks BFG! Enjoy! -Mama Mia-

Wow! I hardly EVER give a bad review! A game like this gives "Adventure Games" a negative outlook.
Started out rather interesting with a parent and child sitting on a train and the son gets kidnapped. Thereafter, the story is fraught with ridiculous, complicated twists and turns and a storyline that made no sense whatsoever!
There is a Journal and a "Map" which gets you to different places, however, you are literally "lost in space" with wandering to and fro to the point of frustration. By the time I picked up a useful object, I completely forgot where it was needed due to being spread out too much.
Most annoying was having to use an inventory item to interact with a hidden-object scenes as well as throughout, the irksome comments when placing the wrong item in a scene, "That would work on Earth". Alas! The actors were terrible, their costumes looked like curtains and I'm running around trying to find "water" with water fountains everywhere. Really?
What I don't understand are the rave reviews!! This game should have been an excellent game given all the time, work and money invested, however, it's probably the worse game I've ever purchased/played on BFG and anywhere.
I couldn't wait until it was over. Hoping the second "Surface" game is way better since I purchased both games based on reviews and the one-hour demo--which is very deceiving as the game gets so much worse instead of better.
Very disappointed BFG!
I don't recommend this game.

Story begins with an ominous phone call from "Grandpa" which immediately drew my interest. After playing "Dracula: Origin", was looking forward to purchasing another "vampire-themed game".
However, upon playing the game--HO scene objects too hazy and vauge for me to wrestle through to get on with smooth gameplay. Drat!
Final straw was clicking on the "broken" stairs in "Granpa's house" and reading the stairs needed repair before "going ashore". Hmmm. Different game or wrong scene, maybe? Double Drat!
I'm a bit of a stickler when it comes to proper use of the English language and correct spelling within a game that the primary purpose is making an income. Don't think it's too much to ask to proof and edit prior to final release especially when the errors are glaring.
BFG, what's up with that? It's my understanding that BFG has their own Beta-testers so I'm not fully blaming the Developers. Also, why should we BFG members be expected to pay full game price with these types of errors especially when other Developers take the time to present a "finished product" for the same cost?
Disappointed, mostly, especially when game has so much promise!!
Recommending this game with misgivings.

Without re-hashing other well-worded and articulate positive reviews, I purchased this well-crafted game with one of BFG's awesome "earned" credits within minutes of gameplay!!
It's one of those games I liked immediately. The game moves quickly, storyline attracted my attention with a haunting and foreboding atmosphere, enjoyable, non-invasive background music, "snappy" HO sound effects when finding an item that keeps me alert.
Maybe the best is multiple items are stored into inventory to use and completing just one HO scene. Objects are found with relative ease and used quickly. Definitely a great game!
Mama Mia hugs and kisses to BFG for making it possible that we members can earn free game credits to purchase high quality games!!

This was the first WMC I've tried and maybe didn't choose the right one as starters. Also, it's gotta be tough to try and capture the genius of a James Patterson novel through a condensed pc game.
Maybe will try a different WMC game in the future as I lost interest in this one quickly.

Played first two Blackwell games prior to this prequel. Took my time on all three to read the witty "one-liner" jokes and absorb the outrageous sarcasm. The very cool artwork is quite unique as well and looks like a needlepoint tapestry.
I'd love to see another prequel that portrays the beginnings of #spirit guide# "Joey". Was he possibly a "gangsta" in his previous mortal life who now has to make amends by freeing other spirits "trapped" in the real in order to earn his own freedom? *sigh*
Since humor is more difficult than horror, kudos to Devs Wadjet Eye Games for their "on-target" humorous script writing. After wrestling myself through hundreds of games, the Blackwell series is refreshing and unique gameplay to simply have fun!!
I can appreciate the frustration in reviewing this "less is more" game. It's kinda like spending oodles of money on toys for your kids and they like playing with the box instead!
Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
I recommend this game!
