Pros: Gorgeous graphics Intriguing storyline Fun gameplay
Cons: Short. Way too short.
I used to absolutely love Elephant Games but their games have become ridiculously short, hardly worth paying for a CE. In these tough times, people want value for their money and a CE that can be finished in a couple of hours isn't it. My first clue should have been finishing the demo with much more than the usual amount of time left over. Alas, I overcame my misgivings, seduced by the gorgeous graphics and the fun factor. Never again.
I really enjoyed this one. For me, it held the right amount of challenge and had a nice mix of puzzles. And, as usual for Elephant Games, beautiful graphics.
What's holding me back from purchasing? I would love to hear from more experienced reviewers regarding the length of the game. Elephant Games have become ridiculously short, completely negating any value in paying for a CE, just to get another very short chapter and few "extras".
Since it's required to either recommend/not recommend a game, I'm choosing "recommend" based on the demo. Barring any further reviews that actually address game length, I'll probably wait for the SE.
Elephant Games have gorgeous graphics . However, their games have become shorter and shorter as time goes on. This one is ridiculously short. They really should consider just issuing SEs (including the "bonus" chapter integrated into the main game) to make them worth purchasing. Beautiful graphics alone do not a CE make.
I cannot recommend this game for purchase as a CE. SE, perhaps but people considering purchasing it when it is issued in that format should realize that it's (still) very short.
Thankfully, I haven't experienced the technical issues others are reporting other than having to hit the exact area that allows you to visit prior scenes. That said, I found this game to be a lot of fun. Yes, some of the puzzles are simple, but some are not, requiring a good bit of thinking to figure out. It's a perfect blend of easy/challenging. If you like logic puzzles, you'll probably like this game.
When I demo a game, I like to experience different aspects such as in-game types and game play, a bit of story line cohesiveness and (to a lesser extent) voice over and sound quality. At 30 minutes, there is not enough time to make an informed decision on whether or not to purchase, especially a collector's edition. I suspect the actual game must be very short or demo play length would be extended. Taking a pass on this one.
This is the best hidden object game I have played in awhile. The story line is cohesive and captivating, the HOS and puzzles have just the right amount of challenge (for me, anyway) This is not a short game, so don't be deceived by the few chapters...each one is lengthy. There were a few minor spelling errors but not enough to detract from the overall quality of the game.
While, in my opinion, not quite as stellar as other EG Christmas releases, this is still a good game.
The story line is poignant and cohesive, game play is smooth, graphics are gorgeous and the music is nice. Not terribly challenging but none of the prior games of this particular series have been either. Rather, it's more of a pleasant, relaxing game that won't hammer your brain cells.
I would have given it a 5 star rating, but as I said, in my opinion, the game doesn't quite live up to the others in terms of "bells and whistles", but it's worth buying (or at least trying) if you liked the others.
Okay, so this game isn't hugely challenging. What it is, however, is very sweet with a story line that draws you in. An excellent holiday diversion, beautifully illustrated and fun to play.
