Review based on completed CE :
I absolutely adored this game. Although very known, the story grabs you and you want to know how it ends and how it will get solved. It sometimes surprised me and made me jump! Some great effects await you! The music is beautiful and soothing, I liked listening to it very much! The graphics and arts are beautiful, not too much pinks and purples, a lot of blue.
There is a variety of HOS and a lot of puzzles, most of them not too difficult, although I played it on the hardest difficulty level.
I enjoyed this game for about 6 hours (including bonus game) and loved every minute of it!!
There are a couple of minuspoints, but it doesn't stop me from giving the game 5 stars, as I liked it it so much it feels impossible to deduct a star.
Choosing the SE or CE?
The CE was missing a couple of things in my opinion.
- No achievements
- No indication in the SG where to find the morphing objects, and they sometimes are very hard to find!
- the SG does not follow your progression
- you have to hand-scroll through the SG, no possibility to go back to the first page to choose a chapter! VERY annoying!
- music can not be saved to computer
- no screensavers
The collectibles were puzzle-pieces and I did like finding them and making jig-saw puzzles with them. But the issues mentioned above and the very hard to find morphs do not make it worth paying the extra money for it. The bonus game is quite short, and not needed for the main-game, which ends very conclusively.

As I started playing this gaming my first thoughts were, hmmm, old fashioned, too much HOS, boring story, and that went on for quite a long time; the first hour or so.
But....boy, was I wrong! There are a lot of HOS, yes, but there are even more puzzles and mini-games. The storyline is intriguiging and suprises more then once with its twists and turns. The game is set in modern times, and there are no ghosts, no fairies, no cute sidekicks, no portals, no pinks and purples, no evil smoke, just a lot of garbage, but it's all REAL. And that, in 2014, is refreshing! I had loads of fun with it, feeling like I was the detective, and trying to save people, rushing, searching here and there, feeling anxious. And much more than that, but I can not give away too much, now can I...
This is a long game, I played about 6 hours, in one sitting! - coffee-breaks excepted ofcourse. At a given time I the game remembered me of the movie 'the hunger games'.
And in the end I finally realised why this is such a great game, it's an Elephant game! That explains a lot about the fantastic quality of graphics, storyline and music, even in 2011, when the game was released.
Be a bit patient, give yourself some time to get immersed in the game, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it! Have fun!

These are sinister, cold guys!! And one of them kidnaps your fiancé on your birthday and drags her around in a frozen coffin! They freeze the whole place, and therefore you don't only need to find keys, but also have to unfreeze everything in order to save her!
In fact, the story is quite familiar but has some nice twists and I liked it a lot. The music is very sinister, ominous and very loud. I had to turn it down a bit. There is annoying screech every time you pick up an hidden object. A big pity is that there are no VO's. They would have made the game excellent, I would have given 5 stars with VO's.
Graphics are very good, crisp and clear.

The game is not too difficult and gameplay is linear and logical. I encountered a couple of HOS, visited twice, all simple lists with a few interactive items. Items are clear. There are very few puzzles, the ones I saw were fun, I liked solving them.
A definate buy for me, there is a good sale today! (and I need 2 more punches for my PCC to fill up) Have fun everyone!

We have all been waiting for a different kind of game, well, here we have it! It is a completly new category of HOPA. You can even choose in the beginning whether you want to play it in classic or in steampunk mode! Never saw that before! It is the sixth game in this series, but the least you can say is that it evolves enourmously!
The new game effects are really stunning! Graphics are beautiful. The evidence board is something new as well, and is a surprising feature. The way the HOS are handled are.... well... different! I still have to decide if I like them this way, but at least you can call them new! Music and soundeffects are good and fit the game. VOS are great, no lip-movement.
The storyline is fantastic and i HAVE to know how this goes on! The full version is downloading now, that's why I'm keeping this short, I want to go play this game!
At least give this game a try, you'll be surprised! Have fun!

Although it's an older game (2012) I had great fun from start to finish and didn't want it to end! If this game had VOS I would rate it 6 stars out of 5.
Much better then a lot of the games being brought to us these days, probably because of the intriguing storyline.

I've just finished playing this game, it took me a good 5 hours, very decent for an SE, and I had a lot of fun with it.
I liked the storyline. It unfolds very nicely as the game progresses, and I got more and more involved. Gameplay seems a bit clunky and overeasy in the beginning, but gets a bit more challenging and flows better after a while, as the amount of tasks pile up, and you get to solve more puzzles.
There are a lot of HOS, most visited twice, but with different objects, and objects that were there the first time, are removed. Puzzles vary from redicously simple to very challenging.

I think it's a great game and if you can get it on a PCC or DD you can do a fantastic deal! Have fun everybody!

What a great game, especially for a SE! Had about 4-5 hours of fun with it.
Very engaging storyline, makes you think about your own life every once in a while. Very nice graphics and superb VO'S!! And achievements! in an SE! very nice touch!

I just finished playing this game, it took me a good 5-6 hours, great value for money for this faboulous SE!!
Lots of beautiful cutscenes, which I loved. They are kind of slow sometimes, but I didn't mind at all, it enhanced the atmosphere of the game! Very good music that fits the game perfectly. The graphics are unbelievable. Enormous attention to detail and extremely mystical and haunting scenes.
The storyline is very captivating and you want to know what's going to happen next and how you are going to get there!
This game has a fantastic jump-map, and you can hardly play this game without it! The map shows you where there are active tasks, you see little blue sparkles in the right-bottom corner of the pictures of the scenes (some reviewers mentioned there is no indication of actions, but sadly the are wrong, they miss out on a great game). Sometimes it is not easy to figure out where to go next, and this map Always helps you out!
I loved the feel of this game, haunting and threatening, but still very beautiful, nothing gray or gory. This game is quite challenging, and I loved that, the 'big' games lately are way, way, way too easy.
It's strange that there are no difficulty levels, but I loved it anyway. There are sparkles on the HOS, and an occasional little sparkle in the game, that didn't bother me at all.

I just finished playing this game, as it was still lying around although I bought it about a year ago.
What a very beautiful game! Makes me think a bit of the movie/novel 'perfume'.
The music is stunning, based on very well known classical tunes, I loved it and stopped playing sometimes just to listen to the music.Graphics are gorgeous, you feel as if you are walking around in Paris. The making of potions is a very Original and fun feature.
I found the story to be captivating and told in a very clear way with stunning cutscenes. Very good voiceovers as well.
Hidden objects are very difficult to find, but fun. Loved the achievements as well.
