I am so tired of the dark, dangerous game themes, and in many of the strategy/building games, you lose ground if you don't show up on time, to collect your money or harvest your crops, etc. This one is just so relaxing, and, even better, it truly is a free game! If you are impatient to get the monster you want, you can spend money to indulge yourself. Or, just stick with it and you can breed it for free! Game provides "mines" to collect your own "diamonds" to buy premium items, if, again, you just have patience to build up your "treasury". You can buy "bakeries" for not many coins, to "bake" food to level up your monsters to earn more coins to spend on decorations, etc. There are various goals and challenges that earn you bonus rewards. I just enjoy sitting there at my PC, clicking away, planning on which monster I want to breed or sell, and feel less stressed while enjoying their expressions and their rhythms.
I'm an older person, and expect games to be entertaining and a bit challenging, but not stressful. This game is labeled as a hidden object game, but the HO scenes are minimal, and most of the game is about the story line (I would rather read a good book if I want a story line) and the "mini-games" have very poorly written instructions, so I often couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do. #I don't think I'm that senile yet.# At any rate, I found myself "skipping" most of the mini-games and over-utilizing the "hint" button, which I think of as "cheating". This game caused me more "stress" than "entertainment" or "fun" so I cannot recommend it very highly. I do dream of visiting the Smithsonian some day, but this was not a fun tour for me.
I don't recommend this game.

This is my favorite HO game of all time, I think. I get depressed with the dark, sinister story lines with distracting text conversations taking too long to read when I would rather be playing, and game play that is so difficult that my brain feels twisted into a knot. "The Clumsys" has a light tone, with cute story and bright, clear graphics, and is challenging enough to hold my interest without frustrating me to the point of throwing my computer out the window. Games should be FUN and this one is!
