I guess I've been spoiled by other games with beautiful, realistic CG visuals because this is like reading a comic book. Couldn't get beyond that fact so have no idea if the game was good or not. This looks like it was made in early 2000s like Edgar Allen Poe's Premature Burial. But try it for yourself, it may not bother you.

First of all, could we have a new series with Collins as the main character please? Just love that guy.
Second, though, is the fact that the bonus chapter is just a re-hash of the main game. Very disappointing. If I'd known that, I would have just purchased the SE, except I used the Guide until the pages were all dog-eared, so I guess it was worth getting the CE for that. Sure love Collins!

Now, to my dismay and disappointment, we have unusually bright orange/red similar to the overly blue/purple pastel games. Realistic colors would be nice and would have prompted a purchase and 5 star rating.
I realize I could probably remedy the situation by fiddling with my computer's color settings but that's not something I'm willing to do. Particularly since I know it's possible to get games with normal color and brightness.
I'll say yes to recommending it and leave the color/brightness up to the viewer.

About midway through the game it seems the developer had to get a different writer of the verbiage because from there on, the English is so poor it's hard to figure out what they're trying to say. I just hope I can finish this game.

I never do reviews but since I complained loudly about the tech status of the CE, I thought it would behoove me to leave one for the the SE which I purchased because the trial had only a couple of tech problems that basically worked themselves out. I'm going to list them here because they are part of my review. 1. Closed out of game, computer crashed. 2. Tried again, but when the computer crashed, the game's Save file was corrupted so had to start over with a new profile. Then, everything worked fine.
I had been waiting for the SE to come out for what seemed like forever and with the hope that all the bugs would be fixed.
I'm not going to tell the story, just going to keep it simple with just the information I look for in a review.
1. Beautiful graphics. Wow, gorgeous characters!
2. Unobtrusive, appropriate music.
3. Hardly any running around, most items needed for a scene are found somewhere in the scene. There is an interactive map.
4. Along with the normal selections, this has Custom game play (love being able to shorten the time it takes for the hint and skip to recharge). Hints will show you where to go next, or you can use the map.
5. You get to keep your matches throughout most of the game! I think all games should let you keep your matches/lighter and screwdrivers!!!
6. Satisfactory ending. Only mention it because of the complaints about the ending for the CE.
7. Completed SE in an afternoon, just the way I like it.
I happen to like the shorter games. The longer games with soooooo much running back and forth (even with an interactive map) frustrate me because I just want to get on with the story. Too long with too much running back and forth and too much stuff to do and I forget what the story was. Anyway, that's just me
So, there you have it. I hope this will be helpful to some.
