This game gave me so many tech problems it wasn't even funny! I played the first time and somehow in the bonus I wasn't given what I needed to finish. I asked for help on FB, and someone did try, she purchased the game in order to help! But no luck for me, without that item I had to restart under a different name. Then it had an error code and shut down. I needed to replay about 5 scenes in order to catch up to the point it shut down. Afterwards, I got back into the bonus where I had my original issue, and got through!! But guess what? It shut down again. That's when I decided to write this review. This seems to be happening quite a bit lately with Big fish. I loved this site and many of the games but come on guys! Can't we do a bit better?
Where to go from here, at least Grandma gave it her best shot. On a positive note, it's better than Harbinger, but really not by much, and that's the most positive note I can give it. Mini games galore, but hidden object scenes are scarce. Morphing with a magnifying glass? A Kindergartener could find those. Can't even speak to the graphics, stiff creatures and british accents don't cut the mustard. MCF is known for its graphics, but this can't come to it's standard of creepy, crawly, jump in your face horror. The pretend Rube Goldberg is astoundingly ridiculous. I know you tried Grandma, but the coffin's lid slammed shut on you and the grave is lowering. If MCF continues with Grandma, I'm not purchasing another game. So below standard and not fair to the undying fan base you have. I'm begging MCF to show us what you got, like the days of Ravenhearst, Madame Fate and Black Veil. Put Grandma in a home and give us what we really want! Until then, you've lost me as a fan.

MCF has always been my favorite game! I enjoy the complexity of puzzles and the scare of it all. I have recently been replaying some of the old one's to get myself ready for this one, and have been anxiously waiting for it. This is nothing like I imagined. I don't know if this has to do with Eipix or Granny games(not sure what it's called) but wow, this was a complete let down. I haven't even made it through 3 scenes yet, and plan to play the whole game, but I prefer the Eipix backing. I am someone who likes the scare, and this hasn't brought me any. I haven't found any of the difficult multi part puzzles, not like there used to be anyway. I love MCF games but this is one I won't likely replay, it's too much like many of the others and one thing MCF always had was it's hard touch, it's lost that with The harbinger. So completely let down! I do believe this is the first time I've ever given MCF less than a 5 star rating. Please, MCF, go back to Eipix!!!

Since the beginning, playing my first MCF game, I've chosen to download without even testing it. I've never been disappointed and I'm certainly not with this game. The play is unusual for MCF but very enjoyable. It makes references to many of its other games, and is quite funny. I have been waiting for this game to come, researching it online under Hotel Victory, and decided to replay Broken Hour, when this happened to come up. So glad I downloaded it! I do enjoy the different way to play this, but I must say that I like the original way. I'm trying not to reveal too much, but if you are a MCF fan, you will enjoy it too.

The game was ok. I have to admit I wasn't that impressed. It did present some challenges that were up to the level of games from Big fish, but not that great. The visuals and sound was pretty good except for the morphing objects. I was pretty disappointed in those. They almost jumped, rather than morphed. They became too obvious. I should have played the trial version before buying it.
Not so great. The puzzles were pretty easy and the storyline didn't really do it for me. I didn't like the switching characters, it muddled things for me. I wasn't so impressed with this one.
Short and sweet. The puzzles in this game are so easy to figure out I wish I hadn't wasted the time to do them. Storyline was ok, but most of it is room jumping to get the correct pieces. If you like a challenge, you won't get one here.
