As much as I tried to, I just couldn't get into this game like most of the other reviewers. I even double checked to make sure I had read the right reviews. I did, so I didn't get it. The beginning didn't impress me. The game jumped right in w/o much intro, and there was a lot of running back and forth.
However, the hint system was pretty good, and the map helped keep track of the tasks that needed to be done and then transported you to where you wanted to be. The HOS and mini-games were challenging, and for that reason, I recommend this game for the hard core gamers out there, but not for the casual gamers. I'm usually somewhere in the middle.
I loved the first Phantasmat, and I expected to love this one too, but that wasn't the case. It wasn't bad, it's just that the story/game didn't seem to flow well for me. Maybe I didn't give it enough time, or maybe I was expecting too much. This game has an older feel to it. The graphics were so-so. I played for maybe a little less than an hour, then I moved on.
People seem to either love this game or they don't. I loved it. Wow, what creativity!
Thank goodness for the hint feature. It worked very well for me. Actually, it advances the story nicely, so I didn't feel too bad for relying on it once in awhile. After I got into the story, though, I found myself using the hint system less and less.
Some of the mini-games repeat themselves. I skipped a few because I didn't want to repeat them, and there are some obvious repeats in scenes, but the creativity is definitely there...to the point to where this game is truly deserving of the high praise it's received.
This was my first time doing battle with match 3, and I was hooked from the beginning! You match tiles to make paths, battle enemies, and the traditional match 3. It's one of those games that just kind of reels you in. It's simple, but entertaining, and It's fun to play without the timer. I'm on my second time thru with it, so the replay value is definitely there. I hope to see more of this type of adventure/match 3 game in the future.
I recommend this game!

It took me a little more than the hour trial to really get into this game, but by the time I was half way done with the first case, I was totally hooked! Loved the hint feature. It points out items when prompted during H/O scenes, and it gives you a choice of what to get help with outside of H/O scenes. The characters stayed true to the show. Didn't like the load times for the scenes, but it wasn't that bad. Overall, this game is a nice change of pace from the usual fantasy/creepy/gothic games out there. I even started watching the show again. Make another one please.
