I'm pretty picky about what games I'll purchase, but this one left me wanting more after the trial was up.
I'm halfway through the game, so I can't speak to the end content, but the reviews about mouse issues... mine works fine. The day does go fast, I can't disagree with those reviews, but anyone who said this is too difficult needs to go back to training wheels.
I haven't played the previous versions of this game so seeing it with a fresh eye and perspective I'm loving it. It does have different levels of challenge from casual (no timer), normal, and challenging. So, pay at least minimal attention in the tutorial and then set the game to whatever level of hardness suits you. In my first 60 minutes of the game I had all gold trophies for each level played so far on normal. It's not that difficult but at the same time it does take a little strategy.

I was very disappointed in this game. I don't remember now what I was expecting from the description, but what this is is one of those games where you have to click on the "customer", seat him or her at the appropriate casino game, wait for them to want something, and rinse and repeat. No skill is involved (or thought) beyond basic mouse skills.

This game is extremely similar to Build-A-Lot. If you loved Build-A-Lot you'll likely enjoy this game. Personally, I was underwhelmed because this game was nothing new or really special. It's been done before.
I have had this game for a few years now. I have been a member on BFG since like 2008, so I've played a LOT of the games here. What I love about Restaurant Empire is that I keep coming back to it.
Anyway, in my opinion, this truly is the best game BFG offers because it is also the most unique. In every genre of games you can find a cookie cutter copy of any hit game with a few minor details changed. This game at least is truly original. I think that's why I keep coming back. It's refreshing.
I love that there is a great deal of strategy involved, from menu pricing, recipe quality, what recipes you can serve, quality of service, quality of decor, and even if your stats are perfect (i.e. service, atmosphere, food, pricing) you will still get dinged because your restaurant is so good, people are getting turned away due to lack of seating! I know this sounds like a no win situation, but think of the valuable lesson this teaches us... there is no perfect scenario and sometimes your best is as good as it gets.
