I was not going to give this edition of Pixel Art a try, as I already own several of them and rotate them through replays along with my collection of Time Management and Art Coloring games. By the time I get to the older versions, they are like new all over again!! But I gave it a shot anyway.
By completing only the puzzle on the bottom right of each section of this version, I was able to see the next page of puzzles. I saw three pages of puzzles with 43 minutes left in the trial, but did not go any further.
I was disappointed in the images I was able to see along with the colors and clarity of the them. Earlier versions are much brighter, clearer and challenging. It is true that I only saw 12 of the images, but if the rest of them were as disappointing as those 12, then enough said.
To me this was a step backward for this Developer. Earlier versions are much more appealing and fun to complete. If you have not tried Pixel Art before and want to do so, I recommend trying one of the earlier versions to get a feel for what they can be as opposed to what this version is.
I don't recommend this game.

I have been waiting for a new version of this game, but I was at first disappointed when I saw the first image of the flower bouquet, because it was almost exactly the same as a first image in another edition of Art Coloring. When I looked at the rest of the images, however, it was the only one that was reminiscent of other editions, so all is good.
Art Coloring is the only version of the Paint by Numbers, Art by Numbers games I enjoy. I am a Pixel Art Fan, and until I discovered Art Coloring, never purchased this type of game. Once I gave it a try, I was hooked. I have all three previous versions and have been anxiously waiting for a new release.
One negative for me is the Pixel Art version of these games. They are not true Pixel Art, as they are just squares colored to fit into the picture. With true Pixel Art, each square is a solid color. This is most likely why people prefer this version of Pixel Art, as it makes the images clearer than true Pixel Art. It doesn't take as many squares to create a clear picture with this version. With true Pixel Art, where each square is a solid color, it takes far more pixels to make a less blurry picture. That said, I don't play the Pixel Art side of Art Coloring games, but if this is your "thing", go for it!
If you are looking for a relaxing game that does not take a lot of concentration and gives beautiful results, I highly recommend this game.
I recommend this game!

I have not been a fan of any of the Paint by Number genres in the past. I am a die hard Pixel Art fan and have purchased most of those games. When Art Coloring 2 came on line, I tried it and gave it a "meh" rating. Out of boredom waiting for a new Pixel Art game, I purchased it and found that I really enjoyed it. The colors are bright and realistic and the gameplay is a fun challenge.
I have read complaints about the size of some of the colors being hard to find. I understand this, and there are a ton of them on some of the pictures. I simply enlarge the entire picture and move it around to locate at least 99% of them without using one of the unlimited hints. If you prefer, you can use the hint button as many times as you want.
Each of these games has an option to play in Pixel mode, which is not even close to the quality of the Pixel Art series. However, if you enjoy this version of Pixel Art, you can get twice your money's worth by playing in each mode!!
I am glad that I gave this series a try. I now have a new "go to" while I wait for a new Pixel Art or Time Management game in the future.
I recommend this game!

But I did give this a try. Unfortunately, my opinion has not changed. The pictures and colors on this particular game are bright and realistic however, which is the only plus I could name.
There are a lot, and I mean a ton of tiny sections that need to be found. I tried two ways to achieve this. I tried enlarging the picture and moving it around, which was tedious, and I used the unlimited hints, which made it easy to accomplish.
Again, not a fan, as there is not much of a challenge, but I do understand why people enjoy them. They are not something I am willing to invest $$ on, however.

I have been waiting for another game in this series!!
Please Developers, do not make the changes recommended by the Paint by Number/Art by Number fans. That would just make this another "swipe around the picture and get a hint whenever you want one" no challenge type of game. I can't speak for the other fans of Pixel Art, but I like it just the way it is.
Sure some of the colors are dull, but I'm not in it for the beauty, I am in it for the gameplay.
Also, the pictures do not "disappear" once they are completed. You can click on any completed picture and look at it.
The Paint by Number/Art by Number games are like a "Where's Waldo" game except he is is jumping up and down waving his hands and pointing to himself.
So Developers, please keep Pixel Art far from the format of the Paint by Number/Art by Number series so that we who are not fans of those games have something we do enjoy.
I recommend this game!

This is not an Art/Paint By Numbers style game, so the gameplay is not going to be the same. If it was, there would be no reason to have a different style of game. This is the main reason I prefer Pixel art over the Paint by Numbers. Every Paint by Numbers game where I have played the demo, I was able to sweep my mouse around the pictures and complete them without ever changing colors. With Pixel art, if you click on the wrong number, it changes the background of that cell, which will make it more difficult to find.
I guess I just don't understand why people are having a problem finding all the numbers and need a cell counter to know how many more cells of a particular color are left. I usually enlarge the picture and complete it in sections. No numbers are missed in that section and I move the picture to the next section. I don't start with #1 and find all of them in the entire picture before I move on to #2. If that is what some of you are doing, I can see how this would be frustrating and hard to find them.
I also note people have issues with the pictures being blurry. Once again, this is Pixel Art. Each cell is a square, not a shape, so the images are not going to be as clear as an image made up of shapes. TV screens for example, are made up of pixels, depending on the size, there can be several hundred or thousand per square inch.
Here is a tip I discovered by accident If you complete the picture on the bottom right of the first section during the demo, it will let you go to the second section. Same holds true for the next section. I was able to see three levels during the demo by using this "trick".
So finally, If you are an Art/Paint by Number fan, you are most likely not going to be a fan of Pixel Art. I am a Pixel Art Fan, because I feel like it is a bigger challenge than the Paint by Number series and I get to enjoy it for a longer period of time than the couple of Paint by Numbers sets I have purchased. So I am getting more for my money!!
Recommend giving Pixel Art a try if you are new to the series.
I recommend this game!

As I have said in previous reviews of Pixel Art, if you are a fan of the Paint by Numbers games, you are probably not going to be a fan of Pixel Art.
People continue to say that Pixel Art images are sometimes blurry. I will admit that they are not as clear as the Paint by Number series, but they are made of of squares, all the same size. Paint by Numbers uses different sizes and shapes to complete their images so they come out more clear. For a Pixel Art image to be clearer, it would have to be made up of 10's of thousands of pixels. You will notice that the images with the most pixels are the clearest, but again will not be perfect without a lot more pixels.
People also note that the colors are dull whereas the Paint by Number colors are vibrant and bright. The colors on landscapes and animals in the Paint by Numbers games are not those found in nature and are not realistic. Pixel Art on the other hand uses more realistic colors on those types of images.
Again, Pixel Art does not highlight each individual square as does Paint by Numbers. Pixel Art actually forces you to find the squares, you know, play the game. It does highlight the squares for some numbers, and some numbers remain highlighted throughout completion of a level. I personally do not find this to be an issue. If the image is enlarged enough and completed in sections, every numbered square is easily found.
On a negative note, I have noted in past editions of this series that there are a lot of images that would cater more to a young audience, like 4-8 year old's. I would suggest packaging all of those types of images into one game and label it suitable for that age group.
I would suggest that if the Developers want to continue to make the Pixel Art series something gamers want to purchase, that they would read the comments and try to come up with more creative aspects to their games. I am certainly not saying that I want them to have the colors and pixel shading like that of Paint By Numbers. Just leave out the really simple, juvenile images and don't include so many food pictures and pictures of cats/lions/tigers. You have seen one, you have seen them all.
Finally, as I said earlier, and many times before, if you are a fan of the Paint By Number series, there is a strong possibility that you will not enjoy Pixel Art. The game play and images are totally different. You will either be Team Pixel Art, or Team Paint By Numbers!!
I recommend this game!

For those of you who "love the bright colors and realism" of the various Paint By Numbers games, you are probably never going to be a fan of Pixel Art. Pixel art is comprised of squares, each of the same size, no different sized pixels or curved shapes. Unless there are tens of thousands of pixels, the images are not going to appear as realistic as a picture that is broken down into different sizes and shapes.
I completed the first level of the trial of one of the recent Paint By Number games with 5 minutes to spare. I did that without ever lifting my finger off the mouse and just sweeping around the images until they were complete. That would be extremely difficult to achieve with Pixel Art.
At this point, I don't think delivering a dissertation reviewing each of the Pixel Art Games is necessary. There isn't much new with each game except for the images. I just find them more challenging and fun to complete that the Paint By Number games that tell you every move to make and practically play the game for you.
If you didn't like any of the the first 18 games, you are probably not going to enjoy this one either.
I recommend this game!
