I thought the story in this game was great. Save your ancestors to save yourself. Fantastic. I finished the game pretty quickly, but that was mainly because I played through dinner and stuff lol. IF I had to give a negative I would say some of the puzzles were easy, but I could have played at a harder level so that's on me. By the end of the bonus game the same scenery was beginning to kind of bore me, but really can't wait for them to do another one like this in different time periods. WELL DONE
I really enjoyed playing this game. I love to see the good doctor get thwarted at every turn. Love the octopus affect. HOS were fun and not to hard, some mini games and puzzles were not to bad, but some were very difficult, sometimes just to figure out what the end result should be lol. I recommend this game 100% and you will not feel disappointed. You run around a bit, but it is in a small area so doesn't feel like you need a lot of sneekers. I thought the game quite clever and just tons of fun.
I very rarely play a game I don't like, but this one was almost mind numbing. 2+2=4...if you know this you can play the game. The tone is that of a teacher as well. It just did not immerse you in the game, it was not a very free flowing game that it felt more like an algebra equation. I quit playing the Bonus game about 3/4 of the way through. It was a real waste and the developer could have sent me a cup of tea instead to fill my time. I know, sounds like I didn't like it huh? lol. Like I said I rarely write a bad review, but in this case I could find nothing about the game that would compell me to recommend it. Perhaps beginning players, but that would just give them a lousy example of the genre. Oh well, play the demo and check it out for yourself especially since it is now out as an SE. I still would not buy it as an SE.
To save your father from a hideous monster, you've decided to sacrifice your own freedom. Now you must journey through a strange and magical land before time runs out!
If you are looking for a "cute" game to play that is serious at the same time, here ya go. I really enjoyed this game and took my time playing it. The pros consisted of surprising twists and turns, not so obvious adventure play, you had to look for your inventory. The only con I found is that I was not all that enthralled with the bonus game, but I think that is just me. It happens a lot. I enjoy playing a game for a certain length of time and then I get itchin' to play a new one, so not really a con, just a manifestation of my lack of patience :) This was quite fun, give it a go.
If anyone had told me that I would use the word "Enchanting" anytime in my lifetime I would have laughed. I thought about whether or not to purchase this game for quite some time but I finally went for it. Well, I am soooo glad that I did. I enjoyed the music, the sound effects and became attached to the characters. I am so used to playing really serious and dark games that this was a real treat and did a lot for my mood. I recommend that you at least try this game. The puzzles were difficult enough and the HO scenes were not that difficult, but they were fun. I am still amazed at how much I enjoyed the game. So get out of that doom and gloom funk and try this game :)
It should have been a tremendous achievement, but the tunnel through the Ridge of Leviathan became the site of a great disaster. What really happened that day?
I really loved this game. I played the first Surface game and was not impressed so did not play the second one. When this showed up I decided to demo it and after the demo I went ahead and bought it. I was still a little bit leery as to whether or not I would like it, but decided to go for it. I am so glad that I did. This game is great. It was fun, the storyline was interesting and and not just a vehicle for HO and puzzle scenes. It seems that there was as much attention paid to the story as there was to the game play. The developers also kept you involved in the story throughout the game. Some games you forget why you are doing what you are doing, not with this game. I like the interesting use of imagination regarding other worlds and what could be out there and all in all I was just really pleased to play this game. I think I might play the second game in the series as I may have missed a good game just because I was not excited by the first one. Kudos to the developers and BF, this was a real treat. I recommend this game without hesitation. Have fun.
I recommend this game!

The Torment of Mont Triste Collector's Edition
No one dares fall asleep in the village of Mont Triste... for when sleep arrives, so does the mysterious Lord of Nightmares.
I got this game without doing the demo and was a bit nervous about that. It was not a bad choice as the game was quite entertaining. The storyline of bringing dreams to life is very interesting to me. These games are all imaginary, but with adding dreams you can take the game anywhere. Great idea. The game play was smooth if a bit on the easy side. I think that if you like a nice mixture of HOS, adventure and puzzles you will like this game. Some of the puzzles were a bit too easy, but others were more on the difficult side. I liked the way the music would be non existent in some scenes and then would start up to emphasize a more intense section of the game. Not much interaction in the HOS, but that was fine for me as the story interested me enough to make up for that. I say give the demo a try. I very rarely purchase a game without doing the demo, but I found the previews of the artwork draw me in so went for it. Even though the artwork can be a bit cartoony, the story is nothing like that and the artwork fits in with the game. They are dreams after all.
I enjoyed this game in spite of myself lol. I found the story interesting and a bit different and I enjoy Hidden Object scenes, so that contributed to my liking the game. I believe that puzzles and Hidden Object scenes were about even and I enjoy that. I began playing these games when they were Hidden Object after Hidden Object with no adventure, so there are many times that I enjoy just some good HOS. I agree that the game is really more of an SE and as such I would give it 5 stars. I was torn between 3 and 4 stars and went with 4 simply because regardless of the quality or difficulty of the game, I did enjoy playing it, and that is the whole point eh?
I just finished this game and would recommend this to anyone. The locations were great and the art work depicting them was of a very high quality. I enjoyed every moment of the main game and enjoyed the fact that it was a bit different than what we are used to. East to follow guide and the hournal was very helpful, as well as the map. A truly enjoyable experience and a fun way to pass some time, relax and recharge :). HOS were very good and so were most puzzles. Some were a bit on the easy side, but what is easy for me may be hard for others and vice versa. If I had any complaint at all it would be the Bonus Game. I thought it was sort of thrown together just to make sure they had one to qualify for a CE and I could have done without it. But this is not the only game guilty of this, so no need to single them out. Perhaps a marketing meeting to see what other "extra" could be tacked onto a CE rather than a Bonus game that is pointless and sort of "slapped" together. I would just as soon have nothing. To me the first criteria to be met by a CE is that it is an exemplary game. I don't need a boring bonus game just to try and justify the price of the CE. If you make an excellent game such as this, there is no need to add stuff just to add it. I HIGHLY recimment this game, in spite of the useless BONUS game . This may very well be the best game I have played this year.
I purchased this game after playing the demo as it seemed to be a little different and looked like a good story and good game play. When I got to about the half way point of the game I was getting bored as the game play became very, very repetitive. You knew before hand what was going to happen next and you could see the end of the story way before you got there. HOS were played twice each time, once with a list and once to "find 12" of something. Puzzles were to easy. There was no feeling of accomplishment when you completed one successfully. I certainly don't want a bunch of head banging puzzles, but please, make me think. Some may like this game, but for me it was just getting way to boring at about the half way point and playing the bonus game was almost a chore. Try the demo as you may like this game, but I found out it wasn't for me.
