I bought the CE and am now regretting it because I played all the way up to level 33, which seems unwinnable due to the way the level is set up. Even following the guide step by step there just isn't enough food on the level to get you to where you can make fish traps to get more.
I tried reloading the level multiple times to see if it changed anything, but it didn't. It's always possible that I'm missing something, but I've played many, many time management games and have never been stuck like this.

I bought the game based on the demo and on the rave reviews. Now I'm wishing I'd waited for the SE. I was finished with the main game within a couple of hours. I haven't played the bonus chapter yet, but I almost don't care to. After the demo it felt like the gameplay just got lazier and lazier, to the point where I consistently only had three or four items in my inventory, most of which got used in the same screen I picked them up. Minigames were not very challenging, and neither were the HOs. Items in the HOs were very obvious - you could almost complete the whole thing without even looking at the list. Artwork was nice except for the characters, which were almost laughable. Music is recycled from the last game. The storyline was fairly original, but because the game was so short I felt like I barely got into it before it was over. TL;DR - wait for the SE.

I don't often write game reviews, but I had to for this one. I just completed the main game, and I loved the storyline. It's logical and well thought out. The voice acting is fantastic - bad voice acting is one of my pet peeves in this type of game. The music was lovely and not intrusive or annoying. The HO scenes are varied; and the mini-games, while not terribly hard, are fun. As far as extras go, there are the usual suspects - collectibles, achievements, morphing objects and a bonus chapter. I absolutely fell in love with this game, and I can't wait to play the bonus chapter.

I really wanted to enjoy this game, but after having finished the main story all I'm thinking is "meh." The graphics are pretty, HO scenes are moderately challenging. The puzzles, however, are very easy, and while there are voiceovers, in places they're just downright terrible. There was one kind of bizarre spot where they even put in a song, sung by one of the main characters. (!?) Overall, it isn't a horrible game, but I wish I'd waited for the standard edition before buying.
The game has a good storyline, good graphics and interesting gameplay, though the puzzles are standard fare for a HOG. My main complaint about it is the length. I finished it in about two hours.
