There's a battle brewing in the backyard and only you can save the day! Tumblebugs is the hit action-puzzler in which Black Bugs are rounding up and trapping the peaceful Tumblebugs underground.
No, I don't mean to be referring to the 2nd Tumblebugs game. I am referring to a big case of deja vu. Because I could have sworn, in another lifetime, many moons ago, when dinosaurs roamed the Earth, I owned this game on another game site.
I remember the shooting to make groups of 3 or more matches as the bugs ran along not just one conveyor belt, but sometimes 2, and sometimes you could jump between the 2 lines and shoot and jump back to the first and sometimes you just had to shoot into both lines from 1 position.
I remember the power-ups that would stop the lines, reverse the line, shoot a fireball into the line, and many more.
I remember the winding trails and the many holes where I couldn't even FIND the end until I saw that blinking red exclamation point that signifies the "death hole" came into sight. I even remembered the levels I had trouble on.
What I DIDN'T remember was the witty, and often humorous. "tips" between levels. SOME referring to the game, while most referring to life's little moments - lol. Seriously, read every one because you'll get helpful game advice in those tips.
What I also DIDN'T remember was the comic strip-type story that continued between every "main" level (vs. the sub-levels).
This game is extremely fun AND extremely challenging. The graphics are bright and colorful. The music I can't comment on because I turn that way down in "options". Save up those extra lives that are so easy to acquire because after Level 5 starts, that's when it gets very difficult and you start to lose those precious lives (that you just accumulate again).
Why did I only rate it 4 stars? No options for different difficulties, That would have been a major PLUS. The "bonus game" was really no different that the regular game and something different to break up the monotony of the game would have been nice as well.
There are 12 main levels to pass and between each "main" level there are sub-levels (i.e., 1-3, 5-2). The sub-levels increase as you "main" level up. I got up to Level 6-2 before the demo ended, so it almost sounds like half the game, and I lost 2 lives at Level 5-1 and 5-2. So, not sure how long the game, time-wise, would be for me.
That's the only reason I wouldn't purchase this game (again?) and because as it gets extremely hard, my older hands can't move quite that fast anymore to keep up with those buggies.
I hope this encourages you to try the demo. Purchasing a game is always a personal choice. Go get those bugs and
Discover the fabulous secrets that a jungle hides in Adelantado Trilogy: Book One! Help the brave and noble officer, Don Diego De Leon, to find and save the lost expedition.
A storm, destroyed ship and an island. This is where the story starts as you take instruction Don Diego De Leon in how to repair buildings, build new buildings (sawmills, mines, workers' houses), collect food, build gardens.
Also, find extra bonuses in the form of food, gold, etc. by exploring the land around you and opening barrels and jugs. And, don't forget to pick the berry bushes for food.
Talk to the natives, etc., agree to their requests. In these ways, and many more, you achieve your goals and are richly rewarded (which enables you to go on to the next level).
There are 4 levels of difficulty from easy to expert and also relaxed (yay). Make sure to make your selection in the "options" tab.
While I did find this game enjoyable, I felt that having only 1 person to smash all the jugs, barrels, etc. and then have to backtrack that same person to get the riches that were in the barrels, jugs, etc. was a waste of good time and slowed things down when there were available workers that could have done that - or at least helped. That one person should have been used solely for talking to the natives. I felt it slowed the game play down drastically.
For this reason, and because I own several better (IMO) building type games, this is a no purchase for me. But, I hope this has encouraged you to try the demo. Purchasing a game is always a personal choice.
I guess I'm in the minority here - didn't LOVE LOVE LOVE the game and this review is based on only 20 minutes of game play. So, take it or leave it.
For me, it was incredibly boring. You have 4 different types of poker games to play: Freestyle, Challenge, Joker's Wild and one more, sorry.
I played Joker's Wild as that's my favorite game. But all the other games are based on the same premise.
The game board consists of 4 rows of 5 empty spaces each. To the right of that is a deck of cards. You have a visible card which you use to "play" your hands. And, behind that you have a partially visible card.
Take the visible card and place it somewhere in one of the empty spaces in the 4 rows of 5 empty spaces each. Imagine these rows of 5 are your poker hands. Each card you see is your next card. Now, make each card count and place it so you can get a decent hand. Even a pair is good because it will clear that row for more cards. If you cannot even place cards to make a pair that row (or hand) will lock and can no longer be used. That's how to play the game.
There are Joker's galore, it seemed. The game just had no challenge whatsoever. You knew the cards that were coming so you were ahead of the game in knowing how to place them. You could strategize for the best hands. It would have been better to have the same game board and the same premise of play, but do something like have the cards you have to play with turned face down. So, until it was flipped over by the "game" itself, you didn't know what to do. And, allowing only "x" amount of time to place the card.
Anyway, not a purchase for me. I have yet to find a great poker game on the BFG site.
You know, I really liked playing this game. Making matches of terribly cluttered piles. Even the match the correct halves of each item wasn't too bad. The bonus games were tremendously fun, especially the one with the coins.
But, unfortunately, this game had so much potential to be a great declutter game and it failed .... miserably.
What I liked: The games were great. The mini games were fun. The background scenery of where you were going (but never got there?) was beautiful.
What I Disliked: Being told hold how to run my life. The terrible amount of time it took to FINALLY open the mini game. If it's MY game, don't show me what to pair, etc. unless I ask for a hint, which are very easy to accumulate. How very long it took for the game to actually start.
This isn't a game about matching anything, really. It's not a game at all, really. This is a grown man's ego at work. He tells the autobiography of his ancestor's. Write a book, if I''m interested I'll buy it. It's a self-help book, an inspirational book full of condescending platitudes to make my life better. I'm pretty satisfied with my life, thank you. A motivational speaker who tried to make a game out of it and failed miserably.
This game insulted me. It should have been described as exactly what it is: motivational, inspirational, self-help nonsense that I can go ANYWHERE to find if I wanted it. A bookstore, a library, the web, even my Pastor.
It's a definite "NO" for me. But, go ahead, try it. Maybe your personal life needs cleaning up. Because it's not about the actual "clutter" of belongings, it's about YOUR PERSONAL LIFE!
Nasty, mean cats (sorry, cat lovers) stole the chicks right from under momma's nose while she was sleeping. Now, YOU have to rescue those poor chained up chicks. But, it's NOT that easy.
You have obstacles. Many, many obstacles. Because to free the chicks, you first have to make groups of 3 or more birds of the same color to get them off the board and away from the chained up chicks. And the more you destroy, the more pop up.
Plus, you have challenges in every level. Complete the level in "x" amount I time (I failed). Unlock all the chained birds (Ok, I could do that). And more. BUT, complete all the challenges and be rewarded with a big, fat GOLD egg (smile). Fail to complete the challenge (but make sure you free the chicks anyway regardless of whatever else you have to do) and you get a big, fat WHITE egg and an even bigger, fatter, RED FAIL!
I loved this game. Maybe it was rescuing the chicks that made it fun for me. And, I didn't mind NOT getting the gold egg every level (you can replay the level if you want that gold egg). What I minded, a lot, was the big red "FAIL". It's a personal issue with me. What if there are people who have been called a failure all their lives? Don't need a game to add to it. See? Just personal.
The game is fun. And you get an extreme sense of satisfaction freeing those little chicks and from completing the challenges and getting that gold egg. It's just not a purchase for me - personally. IMO, for whatever that's worth, getting a white egg is enough to let me know I didn't complete the challenge. For that reason, I downgraded to 4 stars.
I hope this encourages you to try the demo. It really is an entertaining game. Purchasing a game is always a personal choice.
Wow, wow, wow and MORE wow! Just when I thought I was getting disinterested in this game - twists, turns, and .... LOTS more!
If you dislike creepy dolls and I MEAN SERIOUSLY creepy this game is not for you. If you are squeamish about MURDER, people falling or being pushed (?) out windows, this game is NOT for you. I have to admit, there were a few shockers (GASP) for me and it takes a LOT to get that reaction from me.
Weird visions, creepy dolls, murder or suicide (nah, definitely murder), nasty people (nurse Ratchet?), kind nurses - awww, bombs, and just MORE of everything!
You play a Detective in a PI firm, gone to an asylum answering a call that was traced to your office by .... someone ... but who? And who is Ginger? And why is some creepy doll person killing everyone? Find out these answers and more in this game.
There are 3 levels of difficulty. An optional tutorial - eh, pretty basic if you know this genre of game. A journal you're not told about is in the lower left corner. READ it OFTEN. It has tabs for the people you meet - important info goes in there, Clues, also important, and Objectives - VERY important as this list changes constantly and there are always several objectives at once. The hint button recharges fairly quickly. And a transportable map, which you have to locate during the game (hah!) - but I didn't use it.
The game play is amazing. In certain locations, you have to find 9 clues. Once those clues are found, you have to put together the pieces of the puzzle to figure out the sequence of what happened. But, it doesn't end there. Don't leave! Because now you have to search that location for items to put into your inventory.
And, yes there are HOGs in every location, sometimes you go back more than once but the previous items are gone and your items are not hard to locate. A mahjong game is an alternative. I would not say it is a HOG heavy game. The mini games - amazing, new, innovative and some of them require patience, patience, patience and perseverance - don't give up too easily. They're fun!
This game may not be incredibly long as I found 2 of the 9 "clues" before the demo ended (with 1 minute to spare). The previous 9 Clues game wasn't terribly long but this one ... Oh My Gosh! Suspense, Weirdness - LOTS of weirdness. This game is totally MINE! HAVE to get it!!!!!
I hope this encourages you to at least try the demo. Purchasing a game is always a personal choice.
Happy Gaming!
I recommend this game!

The Poppit! Show
Pop your way to the top in this TV-themed puzzler!
Well, this is certainly an interesting game. You pop your way through 6 doors of balloon popping games to work you way up to the BIG door - the GRAND PRIZE door. Can YOU do it?
There are 3 levels of difficulty. It appears you can choose the difficulty once you get to the game board, which does take a bit of time because this is a game show and the host DOES have to give his spiel - lol. There is also a "help" button that gives a very, very short and brief (redundant?) explanation of the game. It even states it is "basic".
The premise of the game is to open the first door. There are prizes in some of the balloons. Also, bonuses like "super pop" that give you extra points. And, each door has a different bonus that can help you - theoretically. The first door has a "pin" that you can use to pop any one balloon. The second door loses the "pin" but gains a "coin" that can "flip" up to 4 balloons. That one never seemed to work for me.
Pop balloons in groups of 2 or more and try to release 14 prizes to win the level. It's not as easy as it sounds - believe me - lol. But, it is lots of fun, especially if you need to release some aggression - lol. Here's something I DID find out that the game didn't tell you: It's NOT necessarily about popping the balloons with the prizes IN them, but also if you pop a group of balloons directly above the balloon that HAS a prize in it. Definitely a "hmmmm" moment for me.
After you "win" the level/game, you are then asked to try to gain bonus points by popping the remaining balloons until you have LESS than 6 remaining. Not 6 or less but LESS than 6. I did manage that a few times. Ahem, ahem. lol.
Oh, and each door has progressively MORE games you have to win. I don't remember in door one but in door 2 you have to win 14 times to progress to the next door.
The "game host" is funny and so is his "spiel". Each door has a different "host" you can find in the left side of the game board. Door 2's host had a great afro - lol.
I thoroughly enjoyed the game. But, unfortunately, I also got bored after a while. Maybe some mini games thrown in or something to ease the monotony of trying to win 14 games? That's why 4 stars only and not a purchase for me.
I do hope this encourages you to try the demo. Pop your way into a fun, challenging and possibly strategic game play.
This is one of the most unique word games I've played in a while.
You string letters to form words. You get an * to indicate a "wild" letter - and there are a lot of them so you can form any word imaginable. There doesn't seem to be a timer except when a letter in an orange flower appears. It's petals start to fall off so use it quickly. There are also "icy" letters and letters in yellow flowers. Not sure what they all mean as it's not explained. When you finish each level, click on the book in the lower right hand side of the screen and a story will appear. The more levels you complete, the more parts of the story you'll get. The story starts out slow and strange but then becomes very interesting.
There are also "bonus" rounds wherein you have to memorize placement of letters.
Yes, while this is a unique game and I was very interested in the continuation of the story, this is not a purchase for me. Unfortunately, I do not care for word games. Poor me.
I do encourage everyone to try it. You can read the story or not. I would, it's a good one.
If you like to make up words. If you like to play scrabble. You will certainly like this game. Although it is a BIT more challenging than scrabble.
The "HELP" button is pretty useless. The only help it gives is explaining nothing, really, except you have to use the letters on the board to pass the level. And, once you open the "help" button, you can pass your mouse over various places on the game board and it will explain what to do there, what it does, etc. I recommend you do this.
Basically, choose a letter on the board and create a word. From THAT word, you continue making words, creating paths so you can ultimately use EVERY letter on the board that was there when the level started. Sound easy? Not so much.
Why? Because there are things you need to know that the "help" doesn't tell you. For instance, words go in 2 directions - right to left, and downwards. That's it.
There are "cookies" on the board that, if used in a word, you earn well, cookies for the parrot who will then SELL you a hint if you need it. But, it seems the more cookies you get, the hint costs even more than you have. Say, for instance, you want a hint but it will cost you 200 cookies. You earn 200 cookies and go for a hint but now it costs 400 cookies. Hmmm.
There are also "spiders//bugs" on the board. In order to remove them, you have to surround them with letters. So, making it harder to create words.
I'm not very good at word games and I don't play scrabble but this seems very much like it. One of the things I disliked about the game was no matter how many "magical" letters started out on the board that you had to ultimately use - 2 or 5 or 8 or whatever - you only end the level with 300 points and 50 cookies.
Also, words you would normally consider acceptable - everyday words - might NOT be in this game's dictionary. I came across several words it would not accept but, frankly, I can't remember them right now. Should have written them down - sorry.
This isn't a purchase for me because, while I was able to use words I don't typically speak with everyday, I am not a word game enthusiast. But, if you are, or like word games like scrabble, I encourage you to try this unique word game.
I really, really, really liked this game and will explain why I only gave it 4 stars later. First, let's get into the story and how you play the game - because there is NO tutorial and you learn as you go ... so I'll help you with what I learned during the demo. You're welcome - lol.
The graphics are actually very cute hand-drawn, cartoon-like, comic-book type pictures. No voice overs and a LOT of reading. But the conversations are humorous to hilarious. If at some point you don't at least smile, you don't have a funny bone in your body. It reminded me immediately of a Keystone Cops movie.
Your father, an inventor of odd things, has disappeared and his loft has been ransacked. You are off to find him. That's the story line. You meet your father's talking cat who accompanies you on your journey. You ultimately meet your father's Assistant who requires 80 gears to present you with a new invention. How do you acquire these gears as you are chasing down a person who has left your father's loft?
Here's how to play the game. At first, locations that you can go to will light up on the map. Click it. There you will meet a character (during the game you will meet many characters - and I DO mean "characters"). All with an amusing personality. A woman in distress over her birds. A young boy just loitering about. The Lequais twin brothers who embody the Keystone Cops - lol and many more.
When you meet these characters and have a short conversation, you will be required to answer a riddle. Answer it correctly and you get 10 gears. Answer it incorrectly and you move on to someone else. The riddles get progressively harder and harder.
Once you've collected the 80 gears, meet your father's Assistant at the hotel and he will present you with a mechanical cat and tell you to follow it. It will apparently lead you to the person from your father's loft.
Off to the catacombs you go and confront the thief/kidnapper (?) who will not give you ANY answers until .... you guessed it .... answer a riddle. Answer it correctly and I don't know what you get because I didn't. Sigh. Answer it incorrectly, and you will need "x" number of "films" to retry. This goes on with the other characters you've met as well. But, how do you get the "films". What a chore!!!!!
You will have to go around the map back and forth to each location you've already been to - back and forth, forth and back over and over until you see 1 (or both) of 2 things: 1 - a film (like from the old cameras) blinking at one of the locations; or 2 - a blinking red exclamation point that will lead you to an area on the map where there is a location with a film.
Once you click on that "film" location the fun begins (lots of sarcasm in that statement). This is what you will see and what will happen and what you have to do. You will here a type of popping sound repeatedly. At the same time, you will see all over the scene flashing white thin strips that are like closed portals. You will hear one last loud POP, in the lower right side of the screen a film will appear - notifying you that it's time to look for the actual film you need. Somewhere in that scene, next to one of the now open portals, a film w/hanging strip will appear. You have but maybe 2 seconds, if that, to find it, see it, click on it. If you catch it, you earn "x" number of films. You have to do this until you have enough to retry an incorrectly answered riddle.
BUT, several things you need to know. You, apparently, need to click on that film by the portal not only quickly but on an exact place - not on the strip part but on the actual film canister. It's NOT as easy as it sounds. Oh no, no, no, no. Missed it? Never fear. Keep going about and around and back and forth until you find either of the above mentioned things again and keep trying to collect enough films to go back and answer the riddles correctly.
I loved the funny characters. I loved the humorous conversations. I hated the riddles - I'm just not good at them. You CAN exit a riddle you don't like and move on to another by clicking the back button located at the top left of the screen. Had to figure that out too. So, I met the mysterious person in the catacombs but never found out any answers because I couldn't get the riddle right and spent a LOT of time (you will too) chasing around films to capture.
This was a fun, entertaining game and I would LOVED to have purchased it but my hand, due to an accident, no longer has the coordination, dexterity or flexibility to chase after those films. Makes me really, really sad because I truly loved this game. It's because of the difficulty of getting those films that this game has 4 stars instead of 5.
I know this was a long review but I felt it only right to give you the tutorial that was missing from the game. I hope it's encouraged to try the demo and find those dang elefants!
