How this was allowed to be called a Mystery Case Files game is beyond me. It has absolutely nothing to do with the series of old and should now be renamed to avoid confusion.
All of us who enjoyed the trials and reasonably hard puzzles of the original series miss those games terribly and you come out with this drivel that has nothing in common with MCF.
I used to get excited when you announced a new MCF but now I know how bad this series has become and just wait for the first couple of reviews to confirm my suspicions that it is not an MCF game.
Developer: You need to play the games of old and then try to emulate them. Maybe then we will allow you to call them Mystery Case Files. Think of all that wasted time and effort put into this when it could have been so much better and even possibly a hit amongst gamers.
Love this series of games and am pleased they've brought out a third one, Portals 3,.just when I thought there'd be no more good TM games.
Mine installed and played with no problems on Win 7. I like the new layouts and action, almost ten hours of TM fun. That was including all the extra games and finding the hidden objects without any help. I play on 'relaxed' as I like to explore and get as much done as possible without time limits. There was one problem though, on Episode 3, Level 7 there are 5 hidden objects to find and although I found them all, when I finished the level it said I'd got 5/6. I replayed the level and found all 5 again but when I'd finished this time it said I'd found 6, doh?
Maybe just a little glitch that will be cleared up with an update, everything else worked just fine. Now having a bite to eat then will play it all again.
I've got all the New Yankee games and as usual this developer ups the quality and difficulty with every new release. It's fun seeing the new levels and what has been introduced; like the ravens and magic carpet which lets you get to items that are out of reach.
I find it very enjoyable to play and have no issues with things on top of one another as said by Cyril48 (maybe you're playing on a small screen), plus you can undo misclicks by right clicking your mouse button, like in all previous versions.
It was an instant buy for me especially as there is currently an offer to get money off. I'm only on level 12 but I just had to say how brilliant it is. If you've enjoyed playing any other New Yankee game, then you'll love this.
Worked fine for me, but waiting for Britons season 3

This game worked fine for me (running Win 7), just make sure you download the C++ Redistributable that pops up near the end of installing and then restart your pc, otherwise the game will not work.
This is a better version of the Roads of Rome series but still not as good as Britons and I'm eagerly awaiting the release of season 3 which was due in the first half of 2020.
This game series just gets better and better. (Rudy 1959, you have to rejuvenate the gold bearing bushes)
Sound and music is just like others in the series and the goals are basically the same but as there are so few TM games, this was a definite 'buy' for me. (Used a free credit as this is a standard game)
I found no problems playing this and am only at level 10, so am going to sign off and carry on.
I'm sorry, but this latest release of a supposed Mystery Case Files game is just insulting the work of the previous devs who gave us the gems of Ravenhearst through to Fates Carnival. It's like they're not even trying anymore.
I did try the trial of this game but the hidden object scenes were too samey with no 'zing' in them and the puzzles were not a patch on what we used to get, they're just too bland. I finished the trial but felt so let down by this that I'm not going to buy any more MCF games until someone realises that they need to bring back the older style of gameplay. This game doesn't deserve to even be called a CE.
I liked the fact that in the older games you really had to look around for what to do next unlike this one where you are led to the next objective, no thought needed.
Some might like this if they've not played the previously mentioned games but for those of us that have, this is a definite 'miss'.
This game has Royal Envoy 3's design, separate islands and the octopus floating around in between them and Kingdom Chronicles' style of gameplay.
It is a little slow in between games with it zooming in to the islands showing the various levels you have yet to play and then zooming out to let you select the next level. But, the story is quite good, gameplay is slick with no bugs, music is acceptable and the game sounds are ok.
I played two levels of the demo and then bought it using today's 60% discount. It's a bit of fun especially with hardly any TM games about at the moment.
Actually, I kinda like this game. It is, as others have said, a bit samey but this edition does have some collectables. Spoiler alert, tiny little pearls (called 'animals' by Gnomes Garden) which I didn't even notice until I clicked on one when I got to level 17. So when I've finished all 49 levels, I've got to go back and find the ones I've missed. They're not in every level and quite difficult to see when you're doing other things. The buildings are obvious when you hover your cursor over them as this brings up a description of each one and the materials needed to build them.
I found the graphics decent and improved from previous versions although I am looking at the game 3 feet away from a 32 inch curved HD screen.
I bought the game when my 60 minutes free time ran out using the offer of the day but it is not really worth the title 'Collectors Edition'. If I hadn't got it for this discounted price, I would have waited for the SE to come out.
I love this game and I'm playing on the hardest difficulty. I like the fact that when you nearly complete the picture, if I've made a mistake somewhere, (on the toughest difficulty there is no hand holding), I have to go back and delete the odd line and search for a misplaced dot to be able to finish.
Lots of levels too, 100 I think and I'm nearly finished but will start again as it's so good. Please devs, can you make more of these? The puzzles are so much better than the extremely easy Fantasy Mosaics series.
I like this series of games Lost Artifacts but releasing this as a CE is totally unwarranted as it barely passes for a standard release. This being the third one in the series you might have thought the game would get better but, if anything, it's got worse. There are no difficulty levels to choose from and the only difference I can see from the standard version are the so-called bonus levels which are just added on as an afterthought. They are not anymore difficult than the rest of the game, so are not worth the added 'CE' and you only get ten extra goes.
Compare this game to Tribloos 3 with their 101 levels and you wonder why they even bothered with this game in the first place.
