I have most of the Dark Parables series and this one just doesn't measure up. The beginning is barely related to the story and some of the characters are clownish. I don't understand how the developer can go from making great games to this. I don't recommend this game at all. Try the demo and decide for yourself. Have fun??
This is a game I played when it first came out which was a while ago because I finished the first demo and still had time left, so I went back in using another profile and played again. I don't know why I haven't bought this one yet but I probably will. The graphics are pretty good and the movements are believable. Only thing I'm not crazy about are the characters. Although well drawn, they act and speak like they don't have any brain or common sense. Again no sense of urgency in any emergency. Oh well. Story line is nice but typical, you know, only you can save the worlds etc., etc. What I really enjoy in this game is the HO's and the mini games. I would buy this game just for those. I recommend this for HO fans even though it isn't real intense and is more a fun type.
Why that title? Simple, I somewhat enjoyed playing the game but some of the graphics and voices left me discouraged. The graphics are more or less childish almost like dressed up stick figures. The story isn't bad and the puzzles and such are fun except for the one at the piano which was a repeat the sequence type that just kept going and going. After 5 tries I skipped. This is one of those relaxing, in no hurry games where you get curious just to see who you come across next and where are you headed. Don't know if I want to use a credit or not, just have to wait and see. I recommend with reservations. Some may like it others will give it 1 star. You be the judge.
This has to be one of the worst match 3 games out there. It is very confusing in that when you meet the goal you don't get 3 stars and that tutorial made me pull what's left of my hair out. I might be missing something but the first few games I met the goal and got the stars then, all of a sudden, I reach the goals and DON'T get 3 stars. What did I miss? I was hesitant to play at first because, when it first loaded, I got 2 error messages which scare the heck out of me when I play a game from a developer I'm not familiar with. But it loaded and seemed to play ok. I will uninstall it though. Only redeeming feature is the graphics. They are fairly nice, not great mind you, but nice to look at. Not being a big fan of Match 3, I can't recommend this one. Some of you may figure out how to get 3 stars every time and enjoy this one but I won't be on that list.
When I saw the developer in the opening credits I thought this was going to be a nice, playable game. Usually Elephant games are well worth playing. Not this one. Although the story line is pretty average the graphics are not up to par. Again, one of my pet peeves -- people talking but no mouths moving and that aggravates me to no end. The HO's are HO HUM at best but some of the mini games are OK. This is another go here, find that, go there, get something else and then return and repeat. Makes you feel as though you are getting nowhere fast. Music is real annoying and I turned that off and If I have to find one more jewel for an eye, I'm going to scream! Why can't the gargoyles, statues and monsters have regular eyes? Enough ranting. Some of you HO fans might like this one but I'm not one of them. Have fun.
This is another great game that has come to Big Fish and I'm beginning to up my opinion of them. Although this is what I call a dark game, meaning grays, blacks and generally dark colors, it works for this one. This is not a bright color game. The story is believable and a pleasure to see where it leads.
The HO's range from a blend of difficult with hard to see objects, to fairly easy but either way they are challenging.
Usually I turn the music off or at least down but I kept it up in this game just because it intrigued me and added to the atmosphere but that's my preference.
This game developer usually comes up with some good games and they have done it again. This is a buy but I may try the SE first just to see if it is any different.
I recommend this one to all HO lovers out there. Have fun!
After weeks of writing unfavorable reviews I finally get to write a very uplifting one. This game has all the elements except one I look for in a game. Pros: 1: It is bright and airy and the only dark areas are in the caves. 2: The story is easy to follow and believable. 3: The HOs are not overwhelming and are just frequent enough to be fun. 4: The mini games are well thought out and offer just enough challenge to make you think. Cons: 1: Still have to play as a female. Darn! Wish they would give you a choice.
Aside from the above, I really enjoy this game and it is on my purchase list. I'm not going to sit here and go through the whole synopsis of this story and ruin it for you as so many others think they have to do. Just play the demo and decide for yourself. I think you will have fun with it because it is a pleasant break from the dark, pointless HOs that seem to be the norm now. I have not seen many from this gamer but I will look for more.
As an aside, in the opening watch for the "Play with sound" animation, I think they are hilarious.
I highly recommend this game for those looking for a lighter side of HO.
You've arrived in the peaceful resort town of Aurora Peak to investigate some mysterious local crystals. But the devious plot you uncover there could endanger the entire world!
Another HO that starts promising but soon slips into nothingness. This one went nowhere fast. Played just about the complete demo and I feel as though I'm just getting started. You have to keep jumping back and forth finding things to open other things to go anywhere. Graphics not that good and when a person is talking I like to see some lip movement. I don't think they are ventriloquists. There is no urgency in anything that is done. I keep seeing this hazmat suited figure but he is no real danger other than he keeps running off. I'm getting bored with the latest rash of HO games and I wish some of the better developers would step up and put out some quality games I don't recommend this game despite the number of 5 star reviews.
Although the graphics are done well in this game, that's where the fun ends. First thing I did was turn down that annoying music then I had to figure out what to do. Very confusing story line and the characters were just that - characters. I kept finding things, opening things, playing mini games and going wherever with no apparent goal. This was just another waste of a developers mind. I don't recommend this one at all.
Now this is my kind of TM. Good story line, great challenge, graphics are superior and just a fun game. It's typical in that you have to build and upgrade buildings, attract guests and, of course, make money. There is a nice challenge and I know not all the levels will be gold. I know I will have to go back to try for gold on some of the levels. If you like TM's then you will love this one. It is very similar to the Build a Lot series which I also like so I will probably buy this one. Try the Demo completely before you make any judgments. You will like this one
