This is one of the best HOG that I've played in a long time. It's definitely creepy with some jump factors here and there. The story line is great too and not too short. This is part of a trilogy, however the 2nd part is not available on BF and the 3rd part isn't out yet. I did buy the 2nd part and replayed this game again before playing the 2nd one to refresh my memory and it was just as good that second time around. Having played the 2nd one, I'd say that the bonus chapter setting doesn't match with how it's portrayed in the 2nd one but the story does. I liked this game so much, I didn't want it to end! So if you like creepy games, I definitely recommend getting this one (and the next one and the 3rd one when it comes out)!

I bought this game off playing the demo. I had fun, it was a cute TM game that was a bit challenging so I added it to my collection. Little did I know that it would take me FOREVER to finish. I'm used to TM games having maybe 50-60 levels tops, but this game has 4 restaurants with 45 levels each as well as a bonus restaurant with 45 levels. And playing on the timed level is not easy. It took going back and replaying many levels and even going back to other restaurants to earn $ points so I could upgrade enough just to get 1 star to move on to the next level. So after I got to the third restaurant I happened to click on the bonus button and read some hints about switching to the Free Play Mode. So that's what I had to do to be able to finish this game completely. And even in the Free Play Mode it was at times hard, and I sometimes just barely got 2 stars but would have been happy with 1 star at that point just so I could finish the game and be done with it. I NEVER play untimed modes in TM but this game I think you have to to be able to complete it. It would have been more enjoyable if each restaurant had maybe 15-20 levels.
I don't recommend this game.
Get ready to investigate a mysterious murder of mythological proportions!

I just got done playing this game and absolutely love it. The storyline grabs you from the beginning which always makes for good game play. There are 60 levels but not all are the timed ones, some are a "choose the correct question" conversation level which are just as fun. This is the first TM game where I actually finished every level (after having gone back in the middle of it to replay a couple) with 3 stars and completed every achievement. I highly recommend using the "call next" button and restocking as much as possible to be able to get 3 stars for each level. I really hope that there are more in this series cause they definitely could continue this storyline.
I recommend this game!

So very disappointed in this game. I already own the SE, loved it so much that I've played it twice and have been eagerly awaiting a sequel to it. This is NOT the sequel that I've been waiting for but the CE that I should have had available to purchase instead of the edition I did. I won't be buying this again just to play 4 extra stories which they should have released as a sequel.
HOWEVER, if you've haven't played the original version of this earlier this year, then I HIGHLY recommend buying this one. This game is not a time management game but an adventure game where you're not constrained by time limits in order to complete your quests but rather using strategic moves and timing to get to the end of each chapter without getting any of your guys killed. I recommend looking at the achievements list so you know what to look for in the chapters, missed the snowman the 1st time I played cause I didn't know to look for him.
This is a good game, good story line and a nice change to the HO, time management and match-3 games that are out there.
I only recommend to those who haven't played this before.

The Unexpected Quest is an adventure game with unique strategy and time management elements.

I'm usually a Hidden Object or Time Management player so when I played the demo for this, I was HOOKED and couldn't wait to play the full game. This is a strategy game at it's finest. With no time limits to complete quests, it can take you a couple hours to finish 1 chapter. I definitely suggest playing all the mini quests, going to the "Achievements" before you start so you know what to look for, and upgrading your Swordsmen, Archers and Mage's weapons at the Forge when possible to be able to defeat the zombies, ogres, spiders and such that you come across - I didn't really figure this out till chapter 4 after I lost a guy lol. I didn't feel the need for a Hint button, Strategy Guide or to look anything up online cause if you just scroll around with your mouse and hover over things/click on them, it'll let you know what you need to remove if you don't have it yet or if the path is blocked and it can't be picked up yet. There could definitely be a sequel to this game, and I really hope they come out with one!

I played the Beta version of this game and couldn't wait till it came out so that I could play the whole game. This game is so addictive that I had to make myself stop playing so I could actually do things that needed to be done and get some sleep lol. This is no typical Match-3 game. The story line is really good and I hope there is a sequel to this as the end left you wanting to go on with the story. There are about 4 different types of Match-3 games: there are maze type ones when going thru the mines, forest, paths, etc; attack evil characters ones; cleaning the potion ones and your typical ones to obtain stuff. The tunes get stuck in your head too, I can hear it over and over even when I'm not playing the game (I swear one tune was Riders on the Storm by the Doors lol). I'm even considering playing this game again because I didn't find all the secrets and apparently it's frowned upon to use the Hint button to find out where to go next on the map cause it asked me if I wanted to change to "easy" and took % points away from my total score lol. Some of the games were pretty challenging (I found myself yelling at the evil character that he was killing me a couple times!) while others were quick to complete. As you go through the different games, you do tend to build a strategy to follow that helps you beat the game (if not the 1st time then at least the 2nd or 3rd time).
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS GAME!!!

I absolutely loved this game right from the very beginning of the free trial which I played when it first came out and only now got a chance to buy it and play the whole game!. The story line is like watching a good comedy and you are left wanting to know more about everything so there had best be a second game to this series - you can't leave us hanging on some of the characters! It is definitely along the lines of the Delicious (Emily) and Fabulous (Angela) games if you are a fan of these but much much better story wise. Sure, you find a rat instead of a mouse and do all the same things like serving soup, and beer, and getting items for customers like you do in the other games but the graphics are better as well as the whole set up. The map doesn't flow straight across, it's like an actual map and you visit each area more than once, just like in Welcome to Primrose Lake (which I also highly recommend playing!). I highly recommend this game for all levels!!

I've played all the games in the Fabulous series (and loved them) but at 185 levels with 74 bonus levels, this game is just WAY TOO LONG! There isn't even story line going on with every level so there really is no need for the extra play. You end up playing the same challenges over and over again, sometimes twice in a row if you do the bonus level and then the story level. It would have been an excellent game if they had just stuck to the regular format cause listening to Angela be a naive, all-about-me person was beginning to drive me crazy Also, they added sounds to the characters when they talk, like an ah, oh, giggle, etc. and it just made it weird. Would have rather they just left that part out. If all of this is your cup of tea, then I recommend this game for you!
Primrose Lake is not as quaint as it seems. Experience a new Time Management mystery where everyone has a secret.
