The best layout for me since Jigsaw 365. I had to play with normal cursor. Unfortunately it still seemed to feel heavy when moving the pieces so that makes it a no buy for me. Gutted though because everything looks great and i love the layout when playing the game. I'm still going to give it 5 stars because my problem should not be reflected in the rating.
I won't ever take note of anyone who tells me, don't buy the game. Case in point. This game has received some very unflattering reviews but I absolutely loved it. Having just previously waded through an awful game where I had to run around like a headless chicken looking for drawer knobs, wardrobe handles, clock hands, etc., I found the mechanics of this game so refreshing. A simple Hidden Object Puzzle game. Whilst I wouldn't want all my games to play the same, i would like to thank the developers for throwing this one into the mix.
Okay for an 'in between games' game but I wouldn't pay CE price or use game credits to buy. I may use a punch code for SE. I didn't have any glitch problems as others have but did find the game pretty basic and mini games too easy. I got fed up of click click clicking through dialogue so decided to skip.
I would recommend the game for anyone who likes this sort of thing but loathe to encourage CE prices for this type of game.
I actually quite liked this game once I got into it. At first I didn't like that it didn't auto fill the blanks, at first I didn't like that it didn't cross off the numbers, at first I didn't like the single colour. However, the more I played, the more I enjoyed the extra challenge of not having the game auto play for me. I think we've been having it too easy and have forgotten what this game is all about. I didn't have to guess at all, it was pure logic, pure thinking before clicking.
This game was great fun. I loved the puzzles and the HO scenes were well made.
Colours are not bright and breezy but the darkness is just right for the storyline.
The voiceovers were well done and not annoying as can normally be the case for this female voice actor. The negativity about the female voice actor is just my personal opinion.
Hidden collectible (x29 - same item throughout the game) can be found in every scene. They're not in your face, but not frustratingly hidden. There is an icon at the bottom left to let you know whether you've found it yet.
Morphing objects (x50) are hidden in each scene and also in each HO scene. There is an icon at the bottom left to let you know whether you've found it yet.
Map is good and although it doesn't show if you've missed a collectible or morphing object, you don't need that here because of the icons in bottom left of your screen.
All achievements are achievable i.e. no need to finish the game in a certain amount of time and no need to play on a harder mode than you want to just to get an achievement.
All in all, a good game well made and very enjoyable for me.
Map - the map will always be a deal breaker for me - whilst this one doesn't show you if you have missed a collectible or morphing object, that isn't needed here and it simply shows you where you have something to do.
Extras - Indicators at the bottom of the screen show you if you need to be looking for a morphing object and/or a collectible. I like this (as it's not shown on the map) because it saves me having to sit staring at the screen wondering if there's something there for me to find.
Voiceovers are great. Can't fault them.
HO - could have had a bit more thought put into them. Quite boring with very little, if none in some, interaction. There is a collectible to find in some of the HO's but only if you haven't played that particular scene before. If you have, then you get a big red tick in the bottom left corner to indicate you've already found the collectible. Again, I like that there's an indicator because it saves me staring at the screen for ages looking for something that may not be there.
MCF puzzles - these are well known and well liked for being extra hard but so far they are not quite as puzzling as in the past but that is only in the demo and I'm hoping they get a bit harder as I play the game.
Graphics/colours - pleasing on the eye in my opinion, not gaudy like Parables or dull like sci-fi games.
My personal opinion - it's a buy for me but I'm treating it as any other HOPA I may demo and not simply as an MCF because personally as a HOPA I think it's great, as an MCF it's a bit disappointing.
Love that you can click on one of the numbers down the side or across the top to change the colour without having to go all the way over to the right to choose your colour.
Your mouse pointer changes to the colour you are currently using.
Remember when you're counting to not include an extra 1 when the numbers are different colours as there may or may not be a blank between numbers of different colours.
It's not all about counting though, sometimes you can see straight away where particular colour blocks can go. If down the side you have a red 5 then look to your columns to see if there are five columns in a row with a red number in them. You can most likely fill in at least 1 and sometimes all 5.
If there is any row with only one colour then look to your columns to see if there are any without that colour and you can then eliminate (right click) the corresponding square.
If you normally like this kind of game then persevere and give it a good try, you will more than likely end up really enjoying it.
Tutorial was very annoying and I won't be using it when I buy the game.
Puzzles - good fun and some very different.
HO scenes - find by word list - interactive. I was a bit miffed at first because in casual mode you get little sparkles to show you where items are! Bad development. I did just learn to ignore them though - I always find items in the order they are listed and leave all interactive items until last.
Map - yes, transportable and shows active areas.
There's no walkthrough posted yet but with this map I don't think you will need one. I do normally like to check this just for approx length though.
Tasks - no.
Any hidden extras i.e. morphing - No.
Achievements - no.
Voiceovers - done a bit differently - your character is the only one with a voice - normally it's the other way around.
Inventory - doesn't lock in place.
Journal - yes.
Can't comment on hint or skip times as I don't use them.
Unravel the mystery of Griffin’s strange experiment in this suspenseful hidden object game and find your beloved scientist before he disappears for good!
As soon as the game started I noticed lagging in the cursor so was pleased to see straight away that it asked you to change to system cursor if this was the case. Played smoothly instantly.
Graphics are in-keeping with the story and atmosphere. I got used to how the game looked after about 10 minutes.
Voiceovers okay and didn't notice the music so must have been okay.
HO scenes are interactive and you can find that something extra in each scene to give you a little help if needed. Nice touch.
Inventory bar does not lock which bugs me.
There is no map.
You have objectives and tasks.
Puzzles were good, some old, some new.
No extras i.e. morphing - except what you do in the HO scenes.
I liked the idea of clicking on something and the item you needed to complete that task was listed in your objectives list. Also you can click around in a scene and if there's something you might need later - without knowing it - it will pop into your inventory!
Not much help by way of sparkes in casual mode and felt more adventurous than I would normally like but there's also quite a few HO's so I was happy with the mixture.
Definitely different gameplay than the norm and a definite buy for me.
