The pictures are lovely and good quality, though I have no idea why its called shades of mood.
The most frustrating thing about this game is that you can't easily move pieces into place. If you try to move the pieces it takes at least four and often many more tries to get a piece from one side of the board to another. As I finish a puzzle, I like to move unworked pieces to the sides to make finding the pieces easier. Well, if it takes 30 seconds or more to move one piece at a time . . . you get the idea. There is no way to mass move a lot of pieces to any area of the playing board.
Often, (like every piece you try to move) it will lose its grip on a piece and will stop and either pick up another piece and leave the one you want to move behind and/or it moves the entire playing board. Very frustrating and not very relaxing.
The quality of the photos is excellent and it does have a feature to isolate the edges. There are other pieces that are not end pieces also on the board.
I don't understand what it is you can "purchase" with the coins you use either.
While I think this has great potential, I wish I'd never bought it.
I have all the Hero of the Kingdom games. After III, I searched more about the developers and thought that maybe that one would be the last. I was pleasantly surprised to find a new chapter of the game. I love playing these games. You get to walk around, learn skills and in this particular episode, search for a dragon.
I did not give it 5 stars only because the first three were considerably longer, but I loved this story just as well. I do wish it had been more fully developed. It relaxes me to play these stories. I wish the story had encluded more tasks from the villagers as well as more items to find around the different locations. I even missed collecting pearls. I thought the story was just getting started when, sadly, it concluded.
I love this series of games and will no doubt buy the next installment. Hoping the next installment comes soon!
This really is a five star game, except it just didn't last long enough. Great graphics, great story and thoroughly enjoyable. Based on reviews, I used a coupon for the standard game, although I think I would have liked to have played the bonus game in the CE. I do agree, however that it is too short, even with a bonus game to warrant the price of a CE.
While there is the element of good vs evil, it's not the usual in-your-face focus on evil that most BFG games offer. Isn't the world today evil enough?
I do plan on getting the CE of the Echos of the Past, and though some reviewers mention a third one, I don't see it in the BFG menu of games
Would love to see more of this series. Beautiful little game that I will enjoy playing again. Something I seldom do with a great many CE games I've purchased.

I enjoy finding little match 3 games that march to the beat of a different drummer. Some of my all time favorites are older games that are unique in their game play.
This one fill the bill. Before I purchased the game, I read the reviews and one pretty much just said "boring". On the surface, and the first play through I can see where you might feel this way. But, with a little more time you'll see there is quite a bit of strategy to keeping the game going past the 60 levels.
Once you finish the 60, you can keep playing and gaining levels until you don't. Game over. So far I've gotten to level 75, which is no small accomplishment if you've played it a few times.
To keep the game in play you must keep making matches before you reach the end of the line. It does take some stragetic planning to do this however.
I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because it doesn't keep a record of your playing statistics. Nor can you pick up a game where you left off, to try for a better score. That would make it a little more interesting to me, though as is is compelling enough to keep me playing trying to get to higher levels before the game is over. You can start a new round at level 60 and try again.
The other thing that prevented me from giving it 5 stars is that, at least on my computer, it causes the processor to run hot. A lot of BFG games run hot, so I often quit and go to other games that are not so stressful on the computer. Its a simple game program, really, so I don't understand why it would over-stress the processor, but there it is. I think a simple tweeking to the program could fix that.
If you like unusual game play that required a bit of strategy to advance, you'll love this game.

I was very happy to see a new installment of the Hero of the Kingdom series.
One of the things I enjoy about this game series is that it is reminiscent of the Exile game series produced by Spiderweb Software years ago. It is fun to roam the countryside and villages collecting items and fighting off the bad guys and beasts.
While you can play it to the end in one sitting, it will take a while. This time I didn't rush, I just let myself linger into the game over several days. It seemed to end too soon. I would have loved having additional chapters to explore, perhaps in pursuit of the Princess' love. I do think there could be more interactivity with the villager quests.
Well worth it. I'll continue to buy every installment Lonely Troops produce.
