On the off-chance that anyone reads this who cares at all: I VERY MUCH resent that because I'm in Switzerland, this game - as others - will try to talk german to me. I say try, because these translations are quite drastically bad ;-p.
At least give us an option to refuse this?! (Okay, could be worse. Could be french, or something...)
Seriously, I'm starting to wonder... The series has been excellent so far, but again, the glitches are just way too serious. I pity all that buy without getting to them.... Why are these things not tested?!
I seriously went so far as to finally install Monterey, would you believe that. No luck. Game freezes on level two, as soon as any character tries to run back to base. Shame on you. This whole series was a joy so far... Definitely not recommended for mac users!!
I don't recommend this game.

This series gets cuter and cuter every time. Quite apart from the challenge - at least in hard mode - there are hundreds of funny details to detect, lovely characters and even the villains are kind of sweet ;-).
The story is told with a nudge and a wink, as well.
So: Cute for the kids, amusing for the adults and generally a lot of fun for everyone. Definite buy!
I recommend this game!

Enjoyable game, beautifully made. However: If you're on a small mac laptop, you will find that buying any gadgets (sword, keys etc.) won't do you no good, since they never show up on your screen - probably because there seems to be a part missing to the right.
Since the game is pretty easy and you can buy any amount of extra cards, you won't need them at all, though ;-).
I recommend this game!

Nothing revolutionary for those who know the series. But of you really want to race a relentless timer, this will have to be your choice. I'm not a newbie by far, but it took me a while to get my three stars on the first time around already. Also, I had to use the inbuilt walkthrough for several tricky ones - definitely nice to have, that. The expert mode doesn't seem to be feasible with all the stars, not for anyone over 15 ;-).
I recommend this game!

I liked the whole series. But this one seems faster paced. Much less waiting around and more to do at all times. Finally, there are larger piles of resources instead of hundreds of little piles, which totally helps the design. Also, the new landscapes are indeed very pretty and definitely something different. I do like the gentle shifting of the islands. That one can turn it off seems a very good idea though, it might distract some...
I recommend this game!

I have been a fan of the series and never expected to be actually bored by a Monument Builders game...
First of all, I instantly disliked the graphics. Compared to the early versions (Eiffel Tower, Titanic) it all looks way too cheap and colourful. Still, for an interesting new game - finally, among all the HOG - one puts up with quite a lot ;-).
But it just won't keep me interested. Scenarios hardly vary, orientation is a bit of a challenge among all the colourful density and things move rather slowly. I'm not sure if I'll ever even finish it....
I do admit that I might be a bit more patient if the whole "new look" of it wouldn't put me off quite as fiercely. But it definitely does. Seems such a shame to let go of a winning concept!
So while I will not recommend this, I'll gladly point you all to the earlier "monuments"!
