There is only one reason for me to buy CEs, extra game play. Sure the other things are nice, but I never look at them for the most part. This has a looong bonus and it is worth it! You won't need a snorkel to save the underwater kingdom. It's beautiful and if you enjoy the main game, you will love the bonus!
After playing Adam Wolfe-Flames of Time I had to buy this one immediately. The only drawback is it isn't a long game but it's so intense I didn't care. It's rare anymore that I can get totally immersed in a game but this series does it. Hoping for a third one.
Again, looking for your sister by solving other people's problems, not a new idea, but an original game play. You have the occasional choice that changes your path a bit. I LOVE interactive games! It's a very dark game in mood, so if you like noir, you will like this. There is none of the "Oh, I have to rescue that child before she burns up...right after I find a screwdriver, a corkscrew, two ribbons...yeh. Hate those. All the searches and puzzles directly move you through.
Did I mention I hope there are more one like this? Please please with sugar on it?

I saw this on the Daily Deal, so I thought I would give it a try. The bad reviews I saw were mostly about motion sickness, which I luckily don't have. I love mixed puzzle games.
It opened with a very pretty (except for the obligatory crashed plane) jungle/ocean scene. Ok, points off for being trite. But still ok on the fun scale. Then I got to the match 3 games. I had assumed the motion of the screen was like the other games I have played, click and drag to move the setting. Nope. The rather boring icons are set over tiles that are placed in some random pattern instead of solid tiles, so that you have to go all over the board to get enough points to get the key that unlocks the exit. If you are all done, receive the key, but the exit is off screen, you have to match 3 to move to it. This also means you can't see if you have a nice line up just off screen. There is a worthless mini map, it does show you where the exit is, but that's all it does. And to top it all off, the screen is square. I had almost 2 inches on each side of the playing screen, which made the excuse of maybe giving you a bigger game field totally bogus. Maybe this is an old game, back when monitors were square. However it felt more like the programmers were just trying for something new, without beta testing it first.
It may improve later on, but I quit with 12 minutes left to play. I try to play the whole demo, but just couldn't stand the waste of time. No buy for me even as a Daily Deal
I really love the idea of exploring the victims unconcious instead of another spouse/child/brother/sister/mother/etc. in peril storyline For a minute there, I thought oh dang, another dangling ending. I would have knocked a star off for that, way too many SE games now have very unsatisfying finishes. Art is great, music rarely annoying...at least I left it on the whole game and only noticed it as a nuisance once in awhile. This one is a solid 5 for me. I was sorry it was over.

I would have given this a higher rating if it didn't claim to be related to the Edgar Allen Poe story. Outside of a red mask, that's it. One of the creepiest of his stories for me, so this mild good guy vs bad fell flat. It had a few different bits, the weighing good vs bad, but it wasn't very long. Still a good game, just sailing under false colors.

I can't play timed games, I played the demo and the time allowance was so good I thought it was one of those you just get points for coming in under a certain time. None of the reviews I read said it was timed only, and it was a DD, so I bought it. Nope, eventually it gets to a point I can't get past. But the art is beautiful and I really enjoyed playing. Nothing new here, but it's nice to play something bright and pretty once in awhile.
This one is very story driven. I love that! And it was written well for a change. I loved the Native American touch in the 1800s.
So, loved the art work, even the music was fine. Puzzles alternated between hard and easy for me. Most of the ones I found difficult was because I didn't understand the instructions. It's a lovely game, just working for good instead of dark and gloomy. Love dark and gloomy too, but it's nice to have something else once in awhile.
It lost two stars because it was short, sometimes obscure and glitchy. Not enough to spoil the game, but my hint button stopped working and didn't start again until I solved the puzzle on my own or exited and returned.
Bottom line, not for the easily frustrated, only like long intense games or those that hate story driven, Play the demo for sure. Some of the glitches don't show up until after the demo, but if you have one of those computers that hate this game, BF will return your money or give you a different game. I got it as a Daily Deal, so the shortness didn't bother me. Sometimes it's nice to play something fun and relaxing that doesn't take all day.

If you don't like timed games skip this one.
You have to collect specific fish before the time runs out. Timer is based on oxygen bubbles you collect. This works on the match 3 but on the concentration card game, there are only two matches for oxygen, so it goes pretty fast.
Graphics are cute, story line is pretty non existent, very basic match 3.

The SE really doesn't have an ending, guess it's in the CE. Personally I feel blackmailed when they do that.
This is a very average game. Not too challenging, a bit tedious, waaaay too much going back and forth. Most of the graphics are good, with the cut scenes really falling down on the job at times.
I might recommend it to new players in this field. But if you are a tried and true fan of this type of game, read the reviews first!
Almost bought the game as soon as it loaded, I liked the opening screen and the lizard so much. Once into the game, I noticed it actually does fill the whole screen top to bottom, which is extremely rare on my large lap top. I was distracted by the art work in the first HO scene. This is actually a good thing, I'm an artist and graphics go a looong way with me. The objects were relative to the story, not just junk pile, and really beautifully done. I also liked the story and that I couldn't understand the natives without some form of translation. I'm hearing impaired, so voice overs and music are largely lost on me, so it was an extra bonus that I understood the scientist, every word! Also, the music was nice and not intrusive.
I got this as a DD, but it was worth full price. Haven't finished it yet, but so far the only thing I don't like is the silly wait for the clues to reload. Oh, and the cursor is a decent size and obviously changes. Just finished a game where I had to squint just to SEE the cursor.
