Yes, even the negative reviews are true...but the things some didn't like are what makes this game one of the best I've ever played!!
I played this game over several days, and, because there is no map or journal, I did get lost a few times. However, the game is in logical order...and when a room or area is finished...it's DONE! You may go back to read some note, or to refresh your memory, but when you've done everything you can in that area it just becomes a "pass-through".
There is a bit of running around, but you can always come out and check the walk-through (I did...at least twice) but, for me, there was just enough challenge to keep me coming back and I can't wait to start the "Son of the Heartless" except that I hate the idea that when I finish that game there will be no more!
Some of the puzzles were too easy and some were a bit difficult, but the HO scenes were simple and clear...even when they were very crowded.
I've been playing games with interactive maps and thought this would be distasteful.....boy was I pleasantly surprised!!
I recommend this game!

This is the latest of the "Myths" games and the last I played. The process hasn't changed and the games are all well done.
Illustration is nice and the puzzles and HOs are clear.
None of these games are for deep thinking...and I enjoyed a little respite from that. I admit I looked at the guide a couple of times, but even with that it was more my impatience than the level of difficulty that caused that "cheat".
I don't think I would have purchased the CE except that I was enjoying the simple pleasure of the other two and didn't want to wait. But, the only real help might be the map because it shows where work is needed and can zap you there. Even that is not necessary as the distance between areas of needed work are short,
All in all, a nice group of games!
I recommend this game!

All three of the "Myths" games are pleasantly simple, well drawn and diverse enough to make a relaxing fun afternoon.
These games are not for serious thinking, but for a few easy hours of enjoyment. The maps are all the help I ever needed ans only skipped a puzzle when it was one I really dislike.
Hos and puzzles are clear and there is very little difficulty in any of them.....might be great for beginners, but if you play for relaxation and fun this could be for you.
I recommend this game!

All three of the "Myths" games are easy but great for a relaxing few hours of fun. The story flows and the puzzles and HOs are pleasant........
NOT a game for heavy thinking! But grand for a simple good time.

Before spending good money on this game it would have been nice to know it has no end. Do they really think this "to be continued" is going to make us WANT to spend more on another edition?? I, for one, feel cheated.
I don't recommend this game.

This is one of the few games I could have played for 10 more chapters! All of the "wants" are satisfied: interactive map, hints, good puzzles, cute characters, etc.
The game is not difficult and may just be too easy for some, but I play for fun and relaxation and don't usually like to work too hard...so it was perfect for me.
Locations and items followed logically...something you don't get in a lot of other games...and I like the "cartoonish" graphics that are pretty and easy on the eyes.
My only complaint is that the bells are too small!!!!
Several of the puzzles were new to me or new versions of other puzzles and I don't like skipping them, so that was nice.
It was also fun to find a few modern items in with the period ones when that was appropriate.
All in all it was a nice escape and I hope there will be more like it!
I recommend this game!

I have just finished the main game and am in the middle of the bonus chapter.
IF YOU WANT A CHALLENGE...don't get this game! If you enjoy a peaceful, scenic, relaxing experience...this one's for you!
The perfect test, when playing the trial, would be to let the opening screen play out completely....don't click "play" until you are well over the waterfall and across the land and back to the river. If you find this relaxing and enjoyable...buy this game!!!
As I said, this is an easy game. No hard puzzles, an interactive map, and a "helper" who is sometimes too helpful. Not much hard thinking, but lots better than an aspirin!!
I thought the concepts or view of the unique worlds was interesting and a nice change from all the dark and gloomy I often play. As I've nearly finished I find myself wishing the game was lots longer....I like the mood.
It is full of adorable characters (especially the Snoop-Sees) that don't necessarily have anything to do with game-play but are, nonetheless, adorable.
I hope to find more like this....I will still play dark and gloomy...I will still enjoy the frustration of hard thinking games....but this is quite special!
I recommend this game!

I suppose it must be difficult to come up with a different story line...there are just so many forms these stories can take.
That being the case, this game provides interest by NOT being dark and dreary and by having chapters that were DISsimilar enough to hold my interest (even a few minor surprises).
The HO scenes are easy, perhaps too easy, and the puzzles were simple too. With an interactive map and hints that recharge quickly enough, some might want a more challenging game. For me, playing for relaxation and distraction, it was just fine. It was pleasant to think through the tasks without having a mental meltdown!
Found objects are used quickly enough for the most part, so there is not a lot of shoe leather used up, and I like the map showing finished areas....there is nothing worse than hunting in finished areas for something that isn't there.
No real surprises until the last moment....interesting!
I enjoyed this and was sorry when it was over!
I recommend this game!

I won't attempt to explain the gameplay here...others have explained quite well the process and storyline (or lack of it).
I think this is the second game in this fashion, and I liked the first one also.
I really enjoy the ways this game differs from the normal HOG. Sometimes the objects were too easy to spot, but sometimes they were quite beyond me!! I found myself thankful for the repeat screens because it was difficult for me to read the descriptions while trying to remember the logic while hunting for the stupid tiny E cards!!
I came to really hate those E Cards...They are so very tiny!!!
Once I gave up hunting too hard for the cards, the game became much more enjoyable and less frustrating.
Overall I like the differences from so many other games and will purchase another if the devs come up with a new one.
I recommend this game!

I am writing this review without having finished the game...I am trying to make it last longer!!
This game has some of the best graphics and a delightful sense of humor, (some of it "sight" gags, and some more obvious). Even the HO scenes are bright but may be way too easy for the experts. The adventure itself is typical fairy tale, but the execution is very entertaining.
Although the game could be made more lengthy by making the quest items harder to find, or more difficult HOs, I am really enjoying the light-heartedness and ease of play. A game to relax with!!!
No "dark" scenes...Ugly monster types are really kinda cute...even the graveyard was pleasant.
I am stalling because I don't want to finish the game...I need 5 more delightful chapters!!
I see the devs. have previously had 2 Robinson Crusoe games at Fish....I will surely try them....hoping they will have the same wonderful humor and bright scenes.
Do yourself a favor...don't miss this one!
I recommend this game!
