Many of the puzzles are virtually impossible to complete. Using the walk-through in this respect could be helpful to avoid frustration that comes with not knowing what to do. The game does offer a skip option for the more difficult parts.
The ending was very disappointing, in my opinion. The mystery is not solved and the player is just notified that they are a good detective.
I don't recommend this game.

Valerie Porter and the Scarlet Scandal
Become a young, aspiring reporter in the 1920`s looking for a big story. Can you crack the case and finally be a top reporter?
Excellent game with the player as a journalist writing about a scandal. Travel to many areas via subway, meeting and interviewing people to uncover the real story behind the scandal.
Overall, the storyline is great, keeps the player engaged in a variety of activities--hidden object, creating articles, mini-games, puzzles and interactive scenes. No lags in this game. Well done in capturing the spirit of the era.
I recommend this game!

Escape Rosecliff Island
An unexpected storm has left you shipwrecked on a remote private island. Find a way to Escape Rosecliff Island!
Very similar to Escape the Emerald Star and Escape Whisper Valley. But the modes of escape are all different for each game which does require the player to perform the tasks to make your escape at the end.
For HOG purists, this game is for you with 24 or 25 levels and unlimited seek & find is unlocked following the escape.
I recommend this game!

Grim Tales: The Bride
After your sister vanishes on her wedding day no one has any idea what happened to her, so it's up to you to find the truth!
Looked at the reviews and thought to give it a try.
Enjoyed the story line and was good to find out that the scavenger hunt aspect of the game was actually pertinent to the story, however, there is too much running back and forth for my liking. The hidden object aspect of this game was an afterthought and lacking in my opinion. Some of the mini-games were challenging.
The free trial offer was not an hour and did not convince me enough to buy this game.
Dialogue and story were both fascinating and interesting. This game seems to be more of a scavenger hunt where the player gathers items to perform necessary tasks. There are two modes to play and would advise using the mode that displays prompts just to avoid frustration for those who have trouble in figuring out what they should be doing.
Would recommend this game for those players who enjoy scavenger hunts more than hidden object games. For those who are purists with HOG, this may not be your cup of tea.
I don't recommend this game.

Miss Teri Tale
Play Miss Teri Tale and visit your neighbors` houses to discover their tantalizing hidden secrets.
Spent most of the time reading the newspaper that provides clues or receiving messages. Interesting characters and dialogue. Good concept as an investigation of neighbors and neighborhood about petty crime. This game could use less time reading and more time involved in the actual game
I don't recommend this game.

Mystery P.I.: Stolen in San Francisco
Millions of dollars of gold has been stolen from an armored car. Find and return the gold before the trail goes cold!
At 24 levels there are returns to all of the scenes on several occasions. But Mystery PI games find a way not to become too repetitive with repeat searches for bonus objects to unlock other scenes. The scenes are aesthetic and provide enough light to find all objects without becoming frustrated. The ending does keep the player involved with solving the mystery. Very good replay value along with unlimited seek and find and the match 3 games after solving the mystery. Wish all Mystery PI games were Mac compatible.
I recommend this game!

Fear For Sale: Mystery of McInroy Manor
Emma Roberts has been tasked with writing a story about an old haunted manor. Help her explore the McInroy Estate!
Very good graphics. Cumbersome to frequently go back and forth between scenes. My advice, take advantage of the free trial before shelling out any money for this one.
I don't recommend this game.

Good visual scenes. Rather simplistic and easy--may be very good for children. Not very challenging.

This HOG was very clumsy and tedious with tasks to do where the player has to keep guessing what should be done by clicking on highlighted areas. Must keep going through repetitive scenes to find items to help you in other scenes--a lot of back and forth action that becomes more frustrating than challenging.
