I really like this game except for the fact that there isn't a relaxed or untimed mode to choose. This is my relax and have fun time; not my stress out and hurry time. Sometimes you want to play timed and other times you don't. So that being said, I would have definitely bought this game if the relaxed or untimed mode would have been in there but since it is not, I decided to pass on this one much to my disappointment.

I thought I would like this game but regrettably I did not. Based on the demo I was disappointed with it. Graphics and voice overs are ok but the lead character talks incessantly. There is a map but it is not a jump map so there is a ton of backtracking to do. Thank goodness there is some form of a map though because you would surely get lost with so many different locations to remember. I think the best thing out of the whole game is the strategy guide which is very well done and simplistic. Overall the game did not impress me much at all.
The residents of Bitterford, Maine have fallen prey to a terrible curse. It’s up to you to unravel the series of mysterious events that led to the town’s downfall and uncover the evil that was responsible.

I was all set to buy this game since I have loved and purchased most of the other MCF games such as Dire Grove, 13th Skull & the Ravenhearst games which were all fantastic, but I am very glad I decided to try the demo first because I am very sorely disappointed in this one. Right off it isn't clear what you need to do and continues to be that way throughout the game (the demo anyway). The case book which usually is fairly helpful and detailed is a bare minimum in this game. Just a few notes jotted down here and there with a list of tasks. I think the storyline would have been ok if I could have gotten through to the end but since the game mechanics and most of the other things that have always made MCF games a joy for me aren't there in this one I couldn't bring myself to continue and uninstalled. Like they say: "Never change a good thing unless you're going to make it better".
I was pleasantly surprised with this game. Graphics are nice and clear and so are the HO scenes. Has an interactive map that you can jet back & forth between locations which is a huge plus with me :) No annoying music diddlies or funky sound effects when you click on objects or areas; just a click type sound effect which is another huge plus with me. And the storyline was a typical rescue type situation but there is a surprise waiting which made it all worth while. (Don't want to ruin anything for those of you who haven't played yet) Overall, I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would even tho I think it could have been a tad bit longer. I definitely recommend this one. Happy gaming my fellow fishies :)

Thoroughly enjoyed this game! Everything was just as I like HO Adventures to be. The graphics are nice and clear and the music is lovely and not intrusive. There is an interactive map that you can teleport between locations ( which i love) and there isn't any annoying music diddlies when you click on things or objects in the HO scenes. It's a nice simple click sound effect which I greatly prefer. There is also a journal and achievements to earn and there is a nice little surprise in the achievements that i won't spoil for anyone who hasn't yet played. Overall it is the best Mystery of the Ancients so far and hope the ones to follow are just as well thought out. Happy gaming my fellow fishies!
I have all the Mystery Trackers games and have really enjoyed them all but I have to say that this is by far the best one yet. I especially loved the Dog Shop and having Elf integrated into the games now. The graphics and music are classic Mystery Trackers; and my two very favorite aspects are having an interactive map to be able to jet from scene to scene and the HOS scenes that have a regular "click" sound effect instead of the extremely annoying music diddly every time you click on an object. ( a huge pet peeve of mine). The storyline is interesting and a little different but kept my interest throughout the game. I look forward to the next MT detectives case with his adorable & trusted canine mini detective. Thoroughly enjoyable! Happy Gaming fellow Gamers!

Along with another reviewer I am of the same opinion: I absolutely despise having a timed game that does not have the option of turning the timer off. To me games should be enjoyable, fun, and anxiety reducing. When there is a time constraint that you have no choice except to hurry up and finish the task at hand is not enjoyable to me whatsoever. Instead of anxiety reducing it ends up being anxiety causing. That said, this was not a game for me even tho if there had been no timer or was able to turn it off I would have not minded the game as a whole.

I'm surprised this game didn't get better reviews than what have been given so far. I rather liked it since it was refreshing to have a Titanic game back again and have it be a good game as well. Graphics are lovely and clear and gameplay moves along nicely without giving frustration. I liked the story line immensely & (since I don't want to ruin any of it for people who have not yet played this game) there are one or two parts in the story & dialogue that tugs on the heart. HOS were clear and objects not too difficult to find. The time travel which is so much a part of the game made it a little different & kept it interesting. Overall, a good game & if you love HOGs/Adventures I would definitely give it a try. Happy Gaming :)
I normally write fairly detailed reviews of each game I play but there really is only one word to describe this one: Bad. Certainly not up to BFG standards.
I have played all the Hidden Mysteries series so far and this is my absolute favorite to date. I really enjoyed the storyline and the graphics and HO scenes are very clear and lovely. There is a map and a journal to guide you along the way which is always helpful. I love maps! Never had to use the hint button which was nice. I just really had fun with this game and I was sorry to see it end as I wish it would have been a little longer. Would have been even better as a Collector's Edition. I very much look forward to more like this in the series in the future. Happy gaming :-)
