I really liked this game, played the demo and then purchased the full version.
All was going great until until the puzzle with the shards of glass, after completing the puzzle I'm not given the glass shards and as a result cannot go any further in the game. This is on the Mac version.
Pretty disappointing that it doesn't work properly after paying for it. It was going to be a very good game!
I don't recommend this game.
Investigate bizarre mysteries by finding clues and solving puzzles!

I haven't finished the game yet, but will do soon. This is an excellent game with plenty to keep you interested. The puzzles are challenging but not ridiculously difficult, although I did get lost a few times finding the bridge weights.
The graphics are excellent and the storyline (which I skip in most games) is good.
To me the game has more of a mystery/adventure feel to it instead of a repetitious HOG.
Despite what Graciesmith7 said, you can replay the game. Once you played part, or all, of the game you get the option to replay.
The only negative I have is that I couldn't even get the Mac version of the game to start - it showed the game icon on the system tray and then clicked off (something I'll report to the technical people). So I'm reviewing the PC version of the game.
Definitely worth looking at and I'm happy to pay for the CE version of this.
I recommend this game!

I really enjoyed this game. I own several hundred HOG's and this one was very good.
It wasn't too hard, but it wasn't simple either. Some of the puzzles had a little bit of a challenge as did some of the HOGs.
It was also excellent value for money, this game lasted longer than many CE games and is only a SE, Bonus!!
I recommend this game!
The twin detectives are back on the case!

As mentioned in pennmom36's review there are plenty of spelling errors and also the completely wrong name given to many objects. On several occasions I had a chisel in my tools and never was it called a chisel, it was called a screwdriver and something else weird. And then there was the was the fishing net and it was named something equally stupid like pencil. These silly mistakes detract from the game and make it less pleasant to play.
There were a few issue with the game mechanics. There were a couple of occasions where I was certain that a particular object need to be used only to have it fail several times and then we I used a hint I was right and had to magically click in exactly the right place - should have been a lot easier to click the right location.
Finally I'm getting bored with repeated problems. I collect a diamond ring and I know I will need this to cut glass as I have needed the same thing in the last 100 HOPAs I've played. How many times have I needed a fan to remove smoke?
And then there are the stupid things. A broken key in a lock CANNOT be turned by a clothes peg, but many recent games have asked for just this. This is plainly not going to work, pliers would be good, but no, we need a flimsy old peg.
I enjoyed the game because there has been a dearth of HOPAs recently so I put up with it. It could have been a lot better with just a bit more care from the developers.
I recommend this game!

Seriously this is not a game for adults. The tasks/hogs are easy - not a challenge at all.
I gave up after 15 minutes.
I don't recommend this game.

Played the demo for 47 minutes and still haven't seen a HOG yet, just long boring cut scenes that you can't skip.
I've played 100's of HOG games and I really wanted to like this because it looked different, but there was so little to do and in the end it was just boring.
I don't recommend this game.
Someone in the Order has turned traitor, murdering one of the Secret Five! Only Sarah can prevent the Order’s destruction!

I was surprised by how long this game was especially for a SE.
Previously many SE games I've trialed or purchased did not work correctly on a wide screen monitor, this does.
Graphics were superb, not sure about the sound as I normally have it off or very low.
As with most HOGs my mind doesn't work quite the same as the programmers so I did find myself using the odd hint to get to the right location.
I recommend this game!
A murderous figure in a red mask haunts the streets of a small French town, and the mayor needs your help to track him down. But you soon discover that the mysterious Red Masque might not be the real criminal…

I enjoyed this game and as is typical of Ers Studios it is well made.
If you have played and enjoyed the other Dark Tales: Poe games then I don't think you will be disappointed.
In the extras you can replay all the HOGs and Mini Games which is a good bonus. It was also interesting to be able to have a look around the photos of the Ers studios in the bonus content.
The only problem I found with this game is that Hint button sticks a bit far out into the game and I accidentally clicked it several times.
I recommend this game!

This game is just way too short. I would have finished it in the trial if I hadn't stopped breakfast!
The graphics are really well drawn and the HOS were pretty good, some objects were pretty hard to find. The mini games were also pretty good, and for those that couldn't find the instructions for the mini games, just press the Hint button.
But as I said at the beginning, way too short - glad the purchase completed my punch card, because I need another game urgently!
I recommend this game!
