Omg, it's the Daily Deal and I really hope that this message gets to the review board today rather than later. This game is totally awesome. I found it educational, entertaining and challenging. At first I was totally clueless (something that often happens to me in large file adventures) but if you put yourself into the situation of a stone age man and allow yourself to think a lot more basic when having to solve a problem (e.g. if you need certain tools you may have to build them without any mod-cons and without materials that hadn't yet been invented) you'll get to the end.
I bought after the trial. Would've bought earlier, but got totally immersed into caring for the little baby dragons, so that should tell you something. I own the prequel and really did enjoy that. They are both very similar, nearly identical, but the story line in Dragon Keeper 2 is more defined and it also seems to be longer. Something that really disappointed me about the first Dragon Keeper was that it's not very long. They are both challenging in the way that the dragon mother sets challenges in exchange for gold coins, updates or pieces of the map you need to find the prince who got frognapped by the evil witch. To meet these challenges in expert time does require thinking of a strategy. They are both really cute games with totally cute little dragons that make really cute noises when they grow or get hungry. The games are great for both kids and adults who like a quirky and cute time management game, but unlike in the usual TM's in which you run about in a frenzy to achieve the goals on time in the dragon keepers you won't have this problem. If you don't make it in expert time it doesn't really matter the game will go on the only thing is that you didn't meet the dragon mother's challenge in expert time. I'd compare it more with Fairy Godmother Tycoon than a usual TM and wish they'd make more games like FGT and Dragon Keeper.
It's very much like Life Quest 1 only with a lot more to do and more interaction. For the challenges you can if you want to compete or just potter along doing them in your own time. Not too keen on the music, but that can be turned down or off. After having completed the trial (always a good sign if I complete it) I decided to buy. If you like Life Quest 1 you will like this one even more.
Bought it as a D/D today and I must say I really enjoyed it. What I found slightly annoying was having to click on arrows to move anywhere, don't feel they were necessary. Found one fluke in one the early HOG scenes when they wanted me to find a 'clove' but it was in fact a 'cloveR' that needed to be found. Liked the storyline and the fact that it didn't end so abruptly as some of the more recent games do. Really nice sound effects and no repetitive and after a while increasingly annoying music. All in all a little gem of a game.
This game is awesome. The HOG scenes are very clear and items are cleverly deposited. Kudos to the developers for that. Love the scenes and the voice overs, especially the one with the sentry lol :-). The puzzles are really clever and so far I didn't come across repeats. There is a mystery to solve, but it's still a refreshing change to the "dark" games. Also, you get a lot of information (mainly interesting trivia) but it's fun to read and sometimes you really scratch your head and say: "What??? :-), All I say about that is: British swans :-), Can't wait for next trip to London now, in about 1 and a half years time.
