Pardon my French, but this game is really magnificent! Playing it felt like a holiday in a nice, relaxing location, a gentle breeze in your hair, rich and vibrant colours surrounding you, the smell of exotic fruits tickles your nose, an uplifting tune gets to your ears.
The story is very well told, moves on nicely, leaves you time to take in the scenery and appreciate it.
The HO scenes left me in awe, there are so many great details. The items fitted the environment perfectly, no single safety pin spotted! Most mini-games were on the easy side, but all well designed and very enjoyable.
The main game is completed, the Bonus Chapter was a nice addition. The same attention and love had gone into the BC as to the main game.
I enjoyed every single moment of the game and recommend it without any reservations!
Merci beaucoup, Grand Poisson et les développeurs du jeux!
Expected too much. This is a nice game if you like stories with a child taken from you and exotic places. Unfortunately for me it didn't do it. You have to find the missing knob, bribe animals, so nothing really new. Doing it in India didn't change the fact that these actions are used in so many games. Was not happy with the story. Poor kid, after losing her parents in a fire, her grandparents send her to an orphanage. Apparently not enough tragedy, now her child gets abducted? Frantic journey, sacrifice, then absolution in the Bonus Chapter and we all live happily ever after? Or until the trials and tribulations in the next game?
As much as I wanted to like this game, I couldn't. The story could have been so good. But it got more and more complicated. I lost interest after two chapters and finished using hints hints hints. When the puppets showed up I almost quit once and for all.
As beautiful the game looked, I grew tired of the glaring colors. Less would be more. The FROG's were far too easy, the puzzles repetitive. Not much challenge. If I finish a FROG within 20 secs without even looking at the clues, I cannot enjoy them.
The music was great, very dramatic and fitting. 5 stars! Otherwise, no thanks. Very disappointed!
If you are looking for a game with many surprises - this might be it! If you are looking for a game with reasonable challenge, but never frustrating - this might be it! If you are looking for a game that is new, fresh, fun - this IS it!
From start to finish (including the Bonus things), so much humour, polished game delight, every scene, every piece of music, every puzzle, everything - just great gaming!
Too many clichés, puzzles boringly easy, HO’s fading to grey from a dev that used to do so delightful ones. My interest to follow the story waned after the dialogue with the lady of the manor. Basically the game delivers all I expect from a HOPA. Graphics are decent, music, sound effects, voice over as well, but everything else I love in a game is missing. I should play the demo again to find out why this time I was not interested to find the missing button for the elevator, had no desire to examine the body, wouldn’t have minded if the brothers had knocked each other out. I couldn’t establish a relationship with the player character. I just wanted to leave the scene of crime and do something creative and entertaining.
Sorry, no buy here, but happy to read that some players like this game.
