Lifeline is a playable, branching story of survival against all odds! Help Taylor make life or death decisions, and face the consequences together. Or see what happens when you make a different choice.
I understand this is a branch game, but it follows the form of Tap stories. In all honesty, this really isn't a game at all but an immersive science fiction experience.
I love sci fi, so this was a download for me. Don't expect gorgeous graphics or cutscenes - this all plays out in your head from a series of texts.
If you have a good imagination and like to read a gripping story like The Martian, this is a good choice. It's real time, so you need to check in and check out - I got updates on my laptop as 'Taylor' texted with the latest news to let me know it was time to fire up Lifeline again.
Holy power-ups and obstacles! This Match-3 has it all: rockets, dyn-o-mite, and nasty bugs. As you play, your specialty matches (crosses, match 5's) create those all-important power-ups and rockets to explode coins and buy the 6 elements.
I have to admit I wouldn't have tried this game if it hadn't been for the reviews written by my awesome, amazing fellow Fishies. Thank you so much, players!
And I'm glad I did - the graphics are incredible, and for a Match-3 there's a lot of action. I mean, those crates of dynamite really explode.
If you need a game to fill those fifteen-minute coffee breaks, Spellarium is just the ticket.
The miracle of the Green Moon, which flourished with plants of all kinds, had lasted for only a few moments. A cataclysm made the Moon lifeless again. Find out why!

I really loved Green Moon. Over the years, it's become one of the games I use as a standard to compare others to, so when I saw part 2 had arrived I was overjoyed.
To be honest, the second version isn't quite as good as the first - which is to say, it's still pretty darn amazing. There are over 400 locations, including a HUGE map of the moon. Seriously, don't get lost. Not only that, you travel in time and space, going backwards and forwards to new dimensions where you play one of the most fascinating puzzles I've ever encountered.
The storyline is about the same as the first - make the Moon green again. You have to brew more potions, collect more object, and talk to characters in medieval villages and the future.
As you play, don't forget to save your game a LOT. If you don't, you'll die - seriously. Many of the locations are lethal.
The only parts I didn't like were the arcade-style Asteroids, and I see from the other reviewers I'm not alone. Luckily, there's a Skip option which, sadly, I had to use in the end.
If you liked Green Moon and City of Fools as well as intense, long gameplay, this is a great option.

I love a game that has several levels to gameplay. This Match-3 has you seeking coins and dollars at the same time in order to buy decor, cake, and other wedding necessities for your friend.
There are the usual Match-3 obstacles: gold tiles, bring special tiles to the bottom, along with rewards for 4 and 5 matches.
This won't be my favorite, but it's a great way to pass the time on a car trip or plane ride. Give it a try!

I loved Defense of Greece, so this second installment was an instant buy for me. You play a typical tower defense game, placing weapons to ward off the invaders.
Defense of Egypt lets you play previous levels so you can keep winning jewels to power up. You can improve your weapons by buying higher-level gears OR collecting two gears of the same level and reworking them to the next higher level. (Example: two 6 gears can be combined to form one 7.)
Along the way, Cleopatra and the muscled dog-face dude give you challenges: improve gears, cut down trees, get three stars. This wins you even more money.
Some of the levels are so devious I've had to replay them several times, upgrading my gears and purchasing extra weapons to win. And as for those side-challenge levels - Holy Cow. I'm still trying to beat them.
Overall, this is a fun defense game. As one reviewer said, the directions aren't clear. But hop on the forums, play around with the gears, and you'll find gameplay is addictive!

I see a lot of reviewers have written glowing praise about Alice, so I'm an outlier. Have to be honest - this game just wasn't for me. I appreciate the attempt to bring Alice into the real world, but for me it just didn't work out.
Alice is out for a run when she finds a top hat. This propels her into a dark Wonderland where she has to negotiate mazes and broken hearts to find her way back to her family.
I would love all of this if the graphics and gaming just had that extra Oomph. As it is, the layout seemed haphazard, even with the compass and the watch to guide you along. (Holy magical instruments!)
It just seemed the designers threw everything at the game to see what stuck. Evil queen? Check. Nasty Mad Hatter? Check. Old dude who gives you maps and lots of help? check. Automaton army? Yup, we got that too.
All of this is played out on a vibrantly-colored landscape with bright objects and card-themed puzzles. However, the end result - for me at least - was somewhat flat.
As my title says, you might go with the majority and love this game. If you enjoy HOA's and puzzles, definitely give this one a whirl. However, I just have to be truthful for anyone who reads this: the game just wasn't my cup of dormouse tea.
However, you might love it. I suggest the hour trial to anyone who likes Alice and a fantasy spin on that story.

What keeps me playing this game? It's a basic roll the dice, move your mice type, but it's just so addictive to rack up cash and beat your competitors.
You start with a small car and a certain amount of cash. As you move around the board, you can buy properties and trade products all over the city. If you buy low and sell high, you can make lots of money and gain more properties.
Along the way, you upgrade your car, stay out of the hospital, and avoid paying taxes. You also try to bankrupt your opponents OR invest in their business in a hostile takeover.
There's the option to buy medical insurance, extra moves (very important as rent rates soar) and discounts for products. You can also build hotels, factories, and supermarkets on your blocks to continue making lots of money.
I'm not the cutthroat type, but there's something just so satisfying about winning out over other players, even if they're virtual. Once I started playing this game, I couldn't stop.
I recommend this game!

Toy Defense 3 - Fantasy
Perfect the skills of warriors, build defensive fortresses, and devise strategy to dominate the enemy’s army. Rid your lands of evil once and for all!
This could be one of my favorite games of the year. For one thing, Toy Defense 3 is long - 6 screens with over ten battles each. The set-ups are different, and as usual you earn coins to build your towers. Along the way you update them in the store through victory earning.
I loved the way you couldn't randomly upgrade towers during a battle. The towers move up through experience points, so those in 'busy' positions upgrade first. This means you have to position your defense in strategic places and sometimes forego populating every spot with a tower.
The graphics are gorgeous, the animation is amazing (I love the fire wheel option for the Greek Fire cannons) and the main castle has its own defense strategy.
I played this until I won every level with three stars because TD3 is just that addictive. If you're a tower defense fan, this is a great game.

This game was uber-frustrating because I could see how it could have been a great time-management game. You manage a hospital and hire doctors all while decorating the halls to keep patients happy.
You have to deal with zombies and rock stars. Sound good? Yeah, that's what I thought - until about a gafrillion pop ups started. Between the female doctor wearing a crop-top (WHAT????) and the other dude telling me what to do every few seconds, this game gave me a huge headache.
To the designers: more rounds of beta-gamers would have helped. Try again.

When I start in on a Royal Envoy game, I know it's going to be fun. This one is no different, with treasure, pirates, and those darn gluttons!
Along the way you have to build the usual houses, upgrade them, make sure you have enough wood and food, and do some side challenges as well.
My favorite is the blue elephant, who can be bribed with apples to drain the swamp.
I also love the maze challenges, where you have to clear a map of streets littered with wood and debris. This usually involves gaining workers along the way, who you can send to mine gold or get more wood from the forestries.
This is the perfect poolside or beach game - great for kids, perfect for moms. If you need a nap at the camp, put this one on and catch a few winks while the kids have a blast.
