What's not to love about these games. Loads of fun and educational as well. Items are cleverly disguised, but not so small that you need a magnifying glass to find them. Mini games are fun and not ridiculously hard, but challenging.
Just like the previous 11 Big City offerings, this game did not disappoint.

Love this game. I do like puzzles, but I found a couple of these impossible to do. I too, found myself using the guide quite frequently, due to lack of direction or instruction with this game. I also found myself completing tasks out of order due to that same lack of direction,
I did hit 2 snags though. Not sure if it is a problem with the game itself or my system. One in the Oasis with the lights in the basement, I fixed them, went back up to connect to battery and the wires disappeared. I ended up completing the tasks in the dark. I had the same problem in the sphynx with the lantern. From across the room, the alcove was lit up, but when I went to it, the lamp was out. Again I completed the items in the dark.
All in all it is a great game, although I would assume, not for everyone. Definitely give it a try though, you may be pleasantly surprised. I am more a HO game person, but enjoyed this one.

I don't normally offer reviews of games I play, because what I like others may not: however, I thought to make an exception in this case.
I LOVE the big City series, and wait impatiently for them to bring out a new one. This was no different, I bought it the minute it was released. I read some of the reviews that were not as stellar as usual, but didn't put much stock in them. I should have.
The game itself is fine, it is up to their standards as far as play is concerned, very educational and interesting. What I found to be horrible though, is the artwork. I thought it was my eyes that were failing at first, since the artwork is so blurry, but no it is done that way. It actually hurts my eyes to look at it. They could have made it a lot clearer and therefore a lot more enjoyable. I have never seen this in their games before. Needs improvement.
The second thing that really annoyed me with this game is the music. I never turn off music in a game when I am playing, up till now. I really had to turn this one off. Again not up to their normal standards.
One thing I wish they would put into their games though, is the ability to go back and replay a round. I was half way through the game, level 31, when I decided to play a couple of rounds before going off to bed. I was tired and wasn't paying attention and forgot to find the guitar. I couldn't go back and do it over to find it. I had to start the whole game over again. Most frustrating.
Other than that it is a good game and for someone who will never get to see these cities first hand, it is a treat to learn about them.

I played all 3 games in this series, and this one wore me out. The first 2 were fantastic, just loved them. Once I started to play, I didn't stop until I was finished. This one took me almost 2 weeks to complete, because I kept getting sooooo tired of back and forth and back and forth, There was a little of this in both of the previous games, but it seems the developers decided to go hog wild on this one. I don't enjoy games that do this. It might not have been so bad had they given us a map that let you jump from place to place. ex you finally find the scissors you need to cut open the bag of earth, then you have to back track about 8 or 9 scenes (and remember) where the bag was in the first place. And this goes on and on and on for everything in this game.
It is a fantastic story, I am just sorry they had to stretch it out by making you run around like a chicken without a head.
It may appeal to some that don't mind this running around, but all it did for me was tire me out.
I recommend this game!

I am in a quandary on how to review this game. AWFUL comes to mind quickly. I played both games one and two and thoroughly enjoyed them, Not so this one. I think primarily, it is the concept that I dislike so much. I hate games that make you go back and forth and back and forth, and that is the first problem with this one. Every time you go to a place to find something, once done you are right back in the shop, with little to show for your troubles. The quests or 'collectable items' are impossible to find, simply because they are not there. Once you have gone to the same site 5 or 6 or 7 times, and picked up the same items just as often, you manager to earn a collectable that you never see, unless you look in your collection folder.
I love HOGS, but at least put the stuff where I can find it if you want me to get it.
This game may appeal to some, but it certainly is not my cup of tea, and I am glad it was a free game or I would have purchased it based on the 2 prequils.
I played for almost 2 hours straight and finally managed to get the cookie jars. Yippeee.
I was extremely disappointed, as I was looking forward to another great antique game.
I didn't find it hard to figure out, just found it boring. Would be a great entry level game for beginners to HOGS. Mini games are ok. They give you options to play different ways or skip altogether. I, personally, don't like games that give you a couple of items at a time to find. I prefer the whole list at the start. Not a bad game overall
