This one is really good! The twists and turns taken to find clues, and the surprise and cleverly adapted tools you'll use to do so, make this game far from the usual dull formula some HOGs use. Love the graphics and even the storyline, which I don't usually think much about, is pretty good. Happy investigating!
I played about 50 minutes of the free trial, and like this game, though I'm not sure I'll purchase it yet. It was a nice game, but it didn't bowl me over. It was a bit predictable and there wasn't much excitement to the story. Though it opens with a gunshot and a women screaming, it didn't pick up much after that. Almost a letdown, though if I had the opportunity to play longer it may have gotten more interesting. The graphics are very good and the challenge is OK. There is no hint button, outside of the HOs, but the cursor and your gamer instincts more than make up for that. I recommend trying the free trial to see if this games for you.
I can see from the game preview page that this is a HOG at some point, but it appears first you have to solve an endless trail of mundane mosaic puzzles. I played my 1 hour free trial for exactly 6 minutes, before I decided I was in the wrong game for my preferences. Sorry BFG, but maybe you need to have a "Mixed Game" category so we know ahead of time what to expect. I guess that's what reviews like this are for.
For HOG enthusiasts like myself this game is a dram come true. Basically the story goes along based on how you do with the HOGs and using your gamer instincts. It is a tough run thought with no hints and lots of searching out clues and the tools needed to move on. You deal with one broad scene at a time, dictated by the game itself, and there is some frustration when you first begin. After awhile you'll have your rhythm and that's when your instincts will kick in. Even then it can take time to find what your looking for. I haven't played the CE, but I'm guessing it's just as enjoyable as this edition for us HOG enthusiasts! MY NEW FAVORITE!!
I bought this one without playing it first. Big mistake. It's so boring and frustrating to play. The hesitation on the transfer from scene to scene makes this game so slow and tedious. If you need to go to a scene several scenes away you have to pass through every scene between them to get to your destination. Again, the hesitation between each scene is endless. Why no map for easier mobility? I love Haunted Hotel Death Sentence, which I also own. That's why I bought this, but this one is not nearly as good.
The fastest 5 minutes ever, with more than 3 minutes just to flip the screens back and forth. Then the place I was stuck on in the game was not even part of the Stategy Guide, so why pay the $7.00 to purchase it? Not very helpful. I would not recommend the SG, but the game is good.
Where? This one is not bad for a Puzzle Game, but I was lead to believe it was a Hidden Object Game, which it is not. The mini puzzles are so boring and the "skjp" button didn't work for me, so the game was longer than I needed it to be. The graphics were very good and I guess there was some sort of story, but not my cup of tea. The Big Fish list of HOs is getting enormous. How many are true Hidden object games? Please, more true HOs!
When I ordered this as part of a 3 game Mystery Tales bundle, I didn't think this one would be as good as it is. So far, of the three I purchased, this is my favorite. The storyline is actually very good and the graphics are excellent. I have needed the hint button more than I like to, but once I got into the rhythm of the game I found it easier to anticipate what my next move should be. By the way, the hint button is slow to recharge even on the casual mode, so not anticipating your moves can slow this game down quite a bit. Try the game. I think you'll like it.
The really fun challenge in this one is simply to get every guitar, and use as few Hint and other tokens for when you do do get stuck. Just so relaxing, with great graphics, clear and concise hidden objects, which are pretty well hidden. The scenery and history of Barcelona make it that much more enjoyable! This one is good for all family members. I've always enjoyed the Big Adventures, and this one does not disappoint.
Thought this was going to be better than it is. It's a Collector's Edition, created by the Stranded DreamScape folks and the continuation of a previous game which was successful. I just don't like it. The Hint button and the Strategy Guide literally direct you through this game. There is no challenge and without them your moves become hit or miss. So far only a few HOS, which are not badly done, but that's what this is supposed to be, a HO game. Also, the graphics are very childlike. Wondering if that's the target audience. Since I own this game, I'll keep going through the story and hope it gets better. I would not tell people not to try this game, with a free trial. (I didn't. I just bought it in a bundle package). Try it, you just might like it.
