I agree with the reviewer who discussed the clunky handling this game offers. But there is one not mentioned AND it is a BIG one. When you try to put a piece back in the scroll box it is hit or miss. If the game thinks it's a miss, the piece seems to go under the scroll box leaving just a hint showing at the top edge. You will never get that piece back; you will never finish the puzzle. So sad. Until then, I really enjoyed the game.
I don't recommend this game.

The sixth edition is just as much fun as the previous five. There is a new mini puzzle that has you rotating squares in order to finish the picture. The instructions say to hold down the left mouse button while tapping the right mouse button. Both buttons are in play. Each tap will turn the square one quarter. I had no problem with rotating and hope this helps anyone about to give up because they can't rotate the pieces.

I didn't last long playing this game but after I quit I did some serious thinking. I quit because it wasn't fun - but why wasn't it fun? After much, very much, consideration I figured that the fun factor was determined by me and my state of mind. Then I looked around and saw that how I felt about so many things had changed - all because of the enormous stress of these last Covid months. Stress does that to you. So, think about that.
And that could explain misunderstanding the initial story line. The golden ticket was sent to the good boy. The evil brother of the good boy stole the ticket and took the trip. The story is there, The art work is lovely. The voice overs are better than most. Hey, why didn't I enjoy the game? Well, two years ago I probably would have. So darn hard to stay on center. (had to swap the m for an r or BFG wouldn't let this go through)
Anyway, give the game a chance. Give them all a chance. With luck we will all be getting back to 'normal' soon and our entertainment judgement will ease up.

This game is almost identical to Hidden Folks created by Adriaan de Jongh about four years ago. Same Unity engine, same clusters and scrolling, same -oh- everything. But the drawing here is a bit over the top. I do prefer the no-story basic black, clear and charming de Jongh version. But this one is a fun time waster. Really, just give it a try.

I have yet to play the game but since BFG is permitting so many negative reviews from people who haven't played it either, I thought I'd try to balance the negatives. Allowing a review to post when the writer has not played the game is unfair to the game creators. Problems with a download should be sent to the technical department. 'Nuff said!
This game is disjointed and inconsistent in controls. The story line is typical but the actions to achieve advancement are so unrelated to the story they are laughable. The voiceover is unbalanced and often muffled. The highlights that most time is spent on are those related to violent activity. This is not a CE game; this is not an SE game; this is not a fun game. I can't even recommend trying the demo.
I'm not going to re-cap the game because that's all over the place. I just want to say that this series is one that I now purchase before trying it out! Just something about the Cadenza games, something moody, mellow, atmospheric - something that charms, disarms, surprises and delights! If you have never played this series, go back to the first and become addicted!
Love it! No smoke, no gargoyles, no ephemeral villains. Just pure fun. And, it is one of the very few I do NOT turn the music off. That alone says volumes.

I really wanted to like this game. When BFG first offered HO games I couldn't get enough because I finally had something to play with my grandchildren. This game's intro clip shows a stabbing. It doesn't get better. BFG, do you remember when you produced or offered family oriented HOs?
Ironically, this game is chock full of items to click on whereupon they do some little cutie thing. What am I? Seven? You give this side action and surround it by violence. Not inspiring confidence, BFG.
Why can't you offer both? Violence, blood and gore for that group you are now pandering to and pure family fun for the rest of us . . .
Oh, and I know you won't print this. I just don't know how else to tell you how thousands of us, the ones who gave you the biggest start of a new line, feel about current HOs.
I don't recommend this game.

Although there are monsters in this game at least it is getting closer to how HOs evolved on BFG. I could almost play this one with my grandchildren, almost. And as for the quality, the scenes are paint on canvas and delightfully presented.
This is a light, bright, colorful game with a slightly annoying sidekick. Other than that, I would recommend this game to anyone over the age of 10.

I tried twice to find a reason to finish the demo and failed both times. Somehow, this is one of the more depressing games purporting to be meant for holiday entertainment. They should have dropped all pretense and simply made it a Christmas FPS! Ho Ho Ho? nah! Bah Humbug to the pachyderm!
