In the beginning, your character inherits a house from an elderly lady. In order to raise money for the taxes and to redecorate, you have to find items for your yardsale. Unlike most hidden object games, your searches have a theme (like 'garden items' or '1970s items') rather than a specific list.
During the yard sale, you have to match the customer to the item. You're given a hint for that (like 'Santa - the man in the Santa hat - wants some new clothes'), but you have to work fast to match them as there's a timer ticking down on each customer. I think this was the hardest part of the game, and raised the game from an 'ok' level of challenge to a 'good' level. Without this, the game would have been rather poor.
You also get to redecorate rooms to earn extra hints, but the furniture and furnishings are limited, so while you can replay that part after the main game is finished, it's not particularly interesting after a couple of plays.
You get to play about 7 levels, then you can decorate the basement how you want, and that's the end of the game. I think it would have been more interesting if you could have played longer in order to afford more expensive or varied furniture. If you like fairly short, simple to play games, then this one will appeal. If you want something to dig your teeth into, you'll probably enjoy the yard sale section, but the rest won't interest you much.
I've played it twice but it's not one I'll play over and over.
I don't recommend this game.

Granny isn't alone in this game - sometimes she's joined by a friend or two who have to help her rescue the cats and complete the level. Again, you use the arrow keys to move each character, the spacebar for any action, and the ctrl key to swap between characters. The game is super duper easy to learn to play, it's just individual levels that can be difficult.
I didn't like this game as much as I liked the earlier ones. It seemed to me that Granny's voice has changed, and her comments aren't as funny as they were, as well as being extremely repetitive. Every time a new piece of flair or a patch was added to the quilt (which shows your progress in the game), you have to swap to the mouse to click ok and get back to the level, which is a pain.
But there are a lot of levels, so if you like the Super Granny games, you can have hours of fun saving cats and thwarting the evil plans of the bad guys.
I recommend this game!

If you like the first two Super Granny games, you should like this one too. It has a slightly different feel to it, but it still has Granny rescuing her kitties while being chased by bad guys.
The park has different sections, and you *have* to buy tickets in the shop in order to get into the next section. Make sure to buy the jet pack too, so Granny can access the levels that are off the beaten track.
One thing I didn't like about this game was the growling made by the pink poodles when they're trying to attack Granny. I found that to be rather disturbing.
Apart from that, it's a fun game with a whole load of levels. At this point, Granny must have 1,000 cats!

This was slightly shorter than expected, but it's even funnier than the first. Once again, Granny is off to rescue her kitties, especially the mischievous Twinkle Toes. Leave the sound on to hear Granny's sarcastic comments and announcements by the bad guy and his staff.
Some of the levels are harder than expected, especially when you've got gorillas (literally gorillas) in dinner jackets chasing you. But Granny will never be defeated.
I recommend this game!

Super Granny has got to be one of the most active grannies around. She rushes to rescue her kitties, all the while evading bad guys while making sarcastic comments.
The game itself is easy to play - you use the arrow keys to move her around, and the spacebar for action. Granny is sometimes able to pick up weapons (a frying pan to whack 'em with, or a capacious handbag complete with tons of bric a brac to throw at enemies). It's fun and funny with a whole stack of levels. Enjoy!
I recommend this game!

This has got to be one of my favourite HOGs ever. It's got a cute little story about rebuilding an orphanage to save it from being closed down by Bill the Barracuda, it's got clear hidden object scenes and a lot of little puzzles. Some of the puzzles are incredibly easy to start off with but they do get harder.
Your job is to search the scenes for things you can sell at the market in order to buy upgrades for the orphanage. The market stall runs in the background while you're playing, so you can see how much you're earning as you go. Apart from that, you get roped into doing odd jobs around the place (like fixing the pipes or serving fast food) in order to earn a bit of extra cash.
The characters in this story are what makes it so much fun. They're funny, and mostly heartwarming too. Bill the Barracuda and his sidekick do their best to be bad guys, but they're just not very good at it.
Once you've rebuilt the orphanage, you can carry on playing without a storyline until you've unlocked every level of the puzzles. You can also replay the puzzles alone without playing the main game, which is another bonus.
I recommend this game!

I've just finished playing this game. Like another reviewer, I was a bit surprised by the abrupt ending, as I would have liked a bit of story-ending. But the game itself was long and complex, with tons of mini-puzzles as well as hidden object scenes.
The HO scenes were clear as well. Sometimes the objects are partly hidden behind other objects, and sometimes they'll sneakily list (for example) 'clip' and leave you looking for a hair clip or a paperclip or some other kind of clip, but the objects are reasonably easy to find, which is good.
All in all, an excellent game, IMO. I'll definitely be looking at the other Grim Tales games to see if they're up to the same standard.
I recommend this game!

This game starts off simply enough: just connect the power nodes with coloured pieces to release the elves trapped in flowers. Then there are blockages to work around, more colours to work in and even snails removing some of the blocks. So, it's simple enough at the beginning, but some of the levels are incredibly difficult. It's still a lot of fun...despite the frustration!
I recommend this game!
