I normally like these games but this one is just to simple. I took off all the sparkles and clues and it still highlights where to move things. Not for me this time.
I have been waiting for this one for a long time. I loved how all the stories tied together. The mini games were fun and not so hard that they couldn't be solved. I also liked that there were tons of morphing objects.
When the entire audience disappears from a film screening at an old theater, you must go behind the scenes to find out who is running the mysterious Nightmare Cinema.
Now this is what I look for in a game these days. This game has everything I look for in a CE and more. Customizable hints, skips, sparkles and mis click penalty.
Map that lets you jump and tells if there are actions at location Tons of things to collect
66 Morphing objects. Scenes are bright and yet creepy. Graphics are perfect.
The strategy guide is great but I am trying not to use it because I want the game to last a long time.
I know I am leaving things out. If you haven't tried this yet, do so quickly. This was a buy for me in the first 5 min of demo. I wish all CE's were made like this.
The residents of Bitterford, Maine have fallen prey to a terrible curse. It’s up to you to unravel the series of mysterious events that led to the town’s downfall and uncover the evil that was responsible.
When I started playing I thought I was not going to like the game. Then I read some of the reviews here and I thought I was going to hate the game. Well, I bought it anyway because I love MCF games and played it for myself. I decided to hold my opinion until after I completed the game and I'm glad I did. First off, there are morphing objects, 50 of them. Love morphing objects. At first I didn't think there were going to be any and then I unlocked them during the game. I was so surprised and happy to see that included. I also really liked the map. Again, I was surprised because when I first started the game, the map looked like it wasn't going to be much help. It turns out that it is very helpful and made traveling much easier. I liked the hidden object scenes, there were not to many and the items were relevent to the game. The 2 things that I didn't like were the strategy guide and the puzzle pieces that bump into each other. The strategy guide was not well done at all and gave little information. I like the way it followed my progress but all it did was point to an item or location and didn't really explain what to do. I try not to use the guide, but when I do it's because I need help. This didn't do it for me. As far as the bumping puzzle pieces. They were just time consuming and annoying. All said, I ended up really liking the game. I think many of the bad reviews are coming from those who are not giving it a chance.
Now this is what I'm talking about. The graphics are great and I love the map. You can jump for location to location using the map. This cuts down on all of the running back and forth. The map also shows locations of morphing objects. I love creepy games and this one hits the mark. Thanks devs. Looking forward to more like this. I bought the game after only 15min of demo. Loving it.
I had high hopes for this game and was looking forward to a creepy game for Halloween. In my opinion, this one does not deliver. I am 2 hours into the game and I have not seen one creepy or scary scene yet. I also have not seen even one HOS. I'm not really opposed to that as long as the game is challenging. But this game is not challenging at all to me. After you collect an object you almost immediatly use it. There is no guessing as to where anything goes, it's all pretty obvious. There are no morphing objects or acheivments or even a map. The mini games are simple and I'm playing Advanced mode. I usually don't jump so fast to buy a game without checking it out longer but this time I did because I am on vacation and wanted something creepy for Halloween. If I had to do it over again, I wouldn't have bothered. When they describe the game with " Terrible Rituals " and " Decapitation " I expect something more scary than a head in a jar. They have a guillotin and what do you use it for????? To cut an orange. What??? Really?? That was a let down. I'm sorry if I sound a bit creepy myself, but it is Halloween. And I was hoping for a scary Adult game. This one was more for the kids so we don't really scare anyone.

Now this is how these games should be made. The graphics are awesome and there are tons of extras to find including morphing objects. I love that you can customize the difficulty level, this was great. The interactive map that allows you to jump to your next location saves a lot of back and forth and allows you to just enjoy the game. I am so glad I bought this game and I'm having so much fun with it. I guess the only dowside for me is that I will be comparing every game that comes out afterwards to this one.
For the most part, I have only been buying CE's and finding it hard to find a SE to spend my credits on. But this game was really cool. There was a lot to do and figure out. You have to find 26 Ace of Spade cards throughout the game, there are tons of hidden object scenes that are interactive. And I really liked the puzzles, although some of them I had to skip. The hint button is really helpful by telling you if there is something to do in the area. I really enjoyed this game and was sorry to see it end. I will play it again, maybe I'll even try the Hard mode. I heard the Hard mode gives you absolutely no hints at all. I'm a glutton for punishment. LOL.
I love this game. The devs were super creative with this one. Based on most of the 6.99 games that are coming out lately, this one blows them all away. There are many hidden object scenes and within each scene there are many interactive objects and also mini games. These devs were really thinking outside the box. Kudos to the devs on this one. I will recommend this game to everyone I know. Please, more like this one. I also love the sound effects. Very creepy.
I have to say the graphics and everything about the scenery were great. Other than that, I did not like this game at all. The mini games are not fun in the least. Matching up symbols to letters over and over again seemed like the developers ran out of ideas on how to make a mini game. Also, there are no acheivments or morphing objects to collect. Just these scrolls which I really don't even care to read. Playing this game has made me realize how much better a game is when there are achievments in the game. It makes you more careful of what you click on and makes you more observant during the game so you don't miss anything. Without that, if a mini game ticks me off, I just skip it. When I am looking for something and cant find it, I find myself just clicking around. I wouldn't do this if there were acheivments to be made. I know I could disipline myself to take more time, but the game would have to interest me. And this one really misses the mark for me. Just my opinion.
