I hated this game (sorry Big fish!). Sherlock Holmes without Doctor Watson? Without characters to interrogate or interact with? No, no, no! It's elementary, it simply doesn't work! (yet the game description has the player believe that there are plenty of characters!?). I bought the game when I was a novice adventurer, and before I had the internet, but I gave up, when I got trapped inside a tomb, and as it was timed, there didn't seem enough time to figure out how to get out! Now you might think me thick, but if games have a timed puzzle, shouldn't it be apparent BEFORE you go into the area? Players shouldn't have to discover it's a timed puzzle, after they fail! Maybe I should've perservered, but frankly, the game didn't have enough pull, and I traded it in! This was so unlike the other Sherlock Holmes adventures, in every way apart from the graphics. I wouldn't recommend this to novice adventurers, or fans of other Sherlock Holmes games, as it was a total dissapointment. Try instead, any one of the others, particularly, Secret of The Silver Earring, or Sherlock Holmes vs Jack the Ripper, which were excellent, and had the fundamental ingredients of superb murder mystery adventures!
I don't recommend this game.

I thoroughly enjoyed this game, and wish I'd bought it sooner! Great story, graphics and locations, in addition to good characters and superb voice acting (listen out for the talented James Schumann, who plays Kate Walker's boss in Syberia 1&2, and who also lends his talents to Echo: Secret of The Lost Cavern & others!), make this one of my better finds from Big Fish! It's not quite on par with games such as Syberia 1&2, but a good find nonetheless! However, the ending was a bit of an anti-climax, but the journey to get there, more than made up for it! Definitely value for money!
I recommend this game!

The story continues on a train headed east, as Kate Walker and Hans Voralberg search for a mysterious island known as Syberia.

I agree with other reviewers, that Syberia 2 is superb, both graphically & storywise (Benoit Sokal, the writer, is both creative and inventive!). The voice acting is also superb, and believeable, and the characters loveable! Game play is simple, with plenty of items to pick up, examine, and use in the game world. The game continues exactly where Syberia 1 left players, on the edge of our seats! But even if you haven't played Syberia 1, you can watch the 're-cap', which fills in the storyline thus far! I'm so glad for other Adventure gamers, that Big Fish has Syberia 2 on their large file list, and at such a great price, it's more than value for money! I would highly recommend Syberia 2, to both novices and hardened adventure gamers!
I recommend this game!
