I liked the other Mortimer Beckett games but this one is like a throwback to kindergarten. It is childish, like a kindergartener wrote it. and the items are impossible to find. And it takes too long to go from one scene to another with all that unnecessary talking. Boooring
Join Oink-oink on the journey to save his friends in Push the Box, a new exciting puzzle game with attractive graphics that will definitely give you a challenge.
Like other posters, I thought this game would be a sequel to the original Dire Grove, but it wasn't. The mini games were confusing and complicated. The HOGs didn't really seem to relate to the situation, there was no story line to speak of and I had so little interest in the outcome I just kept hitting the Hint button to get through the demo. I won't buy it.
It should have been a tremendous achievement, but the tunnel through the Ridge of Leviathan became the site of a great disaster. What really happened that day?
I bought this game based on the demo and when I finally got around to playing it, I discovered it was not the exciting game I thought it was. Maybe I've just gotten bored with HOGs, They just don't seem original anymore. It's the same stuff, find a puzzle then hunt for an object to solve the puzzle with. Like I said maybe it's just me, but I was bored with this game after the first few puzzles.
I bought this game based on a partial play of the demo. When I really got into the game I found that it was the same thing over and over again, just with different items. It had great potential, but just missed the mark for me because it was the same old same old, all the way through. I won't play it again.

I didn't even finish the demo. It was so childish as to be boring, but the hidden objects are hidden so well that they can't even be seen, and the "hot spots" are impossible to find. It's not fun to work a babyish game that is so hard to play. It wasn't challenging, it was just hard and boring.

I am only halfway through this game and I have to mention the inappropriate behavior this poor woman has to put up with. This is the 21st Century, you know. Who wrote this game? A time traveler from the '60s?... In addition to the blatant man/woman banter, the conversations seem to go on forever, without much real reason for it except to kill time. The game itself is challenging, but the dreadfully long conversations and the inappropriate behavior between the men and the woman detract from my enjoyment so much that I may not try any more of these.
There are too many technical problems with this game. I encountered two and have decided to delete it. I wish I had encountered the problems during the demo, I could have saved the money. I enjoyed the game during the demo enough to buy it, but I don't like starting a game over after making a substantial amount of progress.
I have only played the demo so far, but the story has held my interest, and I find the HOGs to be reasonable and pertinent. I intend to buy it. Some of the puzzles are a little easy, but who wants to break their brain on every puzzle?
I recommend this game!

I rarely review games, but I decided this one needed some comments. It is so dark you can't see where to go, tasks are obscure and not intuitive, and to solve it you need to check the walkthrough constantly. It is not fun when you don't stand any chance at all in figuring out what to do, but instead have to just stumble around in the dark, hoping to stumble over something. I'm deleting it without finishing it. Like I said it's not fun.
