Only played a few levels, but this one is DIFFERENT. Same style play but some new inventive obstacles not seen before. They are challenging and really make you think. I think I am going to love the new challenges, can't wait to see what else they have planned for us in this game.

I really enjoyed the previous versions, this one has some troll like character that wants you to gamble to get coins to buy stuff. It really detracts. There is no option to eliminate this part, You don't have to gamble, but it feels more like an intrusion and is really not fun. The new daisy requirement is a pain in the neck too. I will seriously question whether or not to buy any future dragonscales if these two irritations are in them too.
This game is so retro, you use the up and down and the enter keys to control movement. Graphics are unbelievably retro too. It was so clumsy using the keyboard and the graphics so unattractive, I uninstalled it before I played the first level. I would rate it a zero or minus if I could. Maybe this would have been fun in the 70's but not today.
I turned off the dialogues and tutorials. It made the game play faster for someone who played the first Runefall. Not sure about this collectors edition.....didn't really get into that part. The game itself plays just like the old one. It works if you like match 3, but making it a collector's version and charging twice the price for the same thing in Runefall 1 is not good.
Gave me a headache right off. Beautiful graphics and music, but definitely not my kind of game. Games should be fun, not work. This is too much like work and fixing something broken.
The new challenge involving lighting the bulb and making matches according to a list is tedious and detracts from the fun of the game. So far there were no power ups to help. I am passing on this version, it simply is more work than fun. I loved the first 6 versions, they are highly recommended and I have replayed them all several times.
Thanks to the reviews, esp. the one by one of the top reviewers, I finally realized that it used the keyboard like the arcade games from long ago. Please read the help page before starting or you might get frustrated. Modern game players are used to using only the mouse. The run/jump combination is tricky, and took a few tries to realize it was the old arcade style and then it got better. Once the game started, it was easier as I figured out the keys. I always hated those run/ jump to collect arcade games, but I am going to give this one a chance. It is very old school in style and play, but I need a challenge. Definitely not for everyone.
This is not your usual match 3 game. There are a lot of new things that you will miss unless you play the tutorial first. Clearing all the gold squares on a screen is not the only goal by far. You will travel from room to room, but the tutorial shows you how. Been playing these kinds of games for years, but this is different. Both of us had the same problems until we actually finished the tutorial which explained some of the unusual play style.
THIS one is not nearly as much fun as the others. There is a new red square that you cannot move. You have a minor challenge then shoot the cannon to ignite a bomb or slider to have lots of explosions and destroy the coins with only a couple to get on your own. There are no moveable dynamites and it is nearly impossible to get a rocket. The challenge is just not there. Part of the fun in previous ones was figuring out how to complete the task. The bonus challenges are not really fun either. Try Cursed House by the same company instead....That is the greatest
